Mr Joe's Steak House & Restaurant reviews
7We ordered 3 orders of 12 wings at $15.55 each. Not only were we also gonna get charged. 75 for ranch and blue cheese but the wings weren’t even whole wings. So technically we paid $15.55 for 6 wings. Food was good, but when we spend almost $70 and you still want to charge for Ranch and/or Blue cheese, that’s just WRONG
Well the food was good. I liked everything that I ate. The milkshake was fantastic! The only thing I would do differently is try to get the cheese sauce from the fries on the steak sandwich. That would have been awesome.
We were in Columbia to rent a couple of e-bikes at the newly opened Lets Roll bicycle shop on Locust. We headed over to Mr Joe's Steak House expecting to dine on a coupe of NY strip steaks or rib eyes. NOPE. Mr Joe's makes chopped steak sandwiches, but by cracky he does it very very well. Some of the best tasting beef I've eaten in a long long time. This was not a stereotypical Philly cheesesteak either. The sandwich bagan with slices of provolone on a tasty soft roll, filled with tenderly delicious chopped steak that was not over cooked, and topped with a marinara sauce. Absolutely delicious! We also tried the onion rings that were dipped in a light beer batter and fried to perfection. The food here was a delight to eat. I star off though due to the uncleanliness and clutter throughout the restaurant.
I ordered a cheese steak with bo onion, large was displayed as $8.60 sent my total cam out to 12.xx they charge you 60 cent for NOT putting onions on, they charge you 2.00 dollars for cheese and on top of that a 1 if your using a DEBIT card. After all of this I was expecting a fantastic cheese steak, it's was absolutely terrible. Tasted like water. Wasn't even enough cheese and sauce to taste. I loved the esthetic of the place though. But that's it. I'm sure many years ago if was fantastic.
Just wondering if the owner looks around and see's the filth on the lower kitchen cabinets and their handles that the food preparers touch as they make your food (where the sub rolls were stored). I have been to Columbia, pa for a cheese steak over 60 times to a competitor, since I have seen this issue, from sitting at a counter stool @ Joe's. Shame.thats a lot of $$$$$ lost.
I been going to Joe's for coffee for a friend of mines, and its crazy not only do you get only 2 creamers and 2 sugars for a larger cup, yet this last time he ripped me off and gave me a small cup, still charging me 3 and some change for it, he lost money cause I will never go back, I will jump in my car or walk before I go there, it's bad enough the price of everything went up, yet you go to a place to support smaller business and this is what happens, I guess Turkey Hill, and Sheetz is where to go if you want coffee. Don't bother with Joes unless you want to get ripped off and like dark stale coffee.
