Mt Airy Family Practice is the absolute best. I've been coming here for 2 years now. This is the first time in years that I've felt this comfortable with a medical facility. The care is excellent and the whole staff are very personable. The nurse pratcioner Marisa Patterson, the receptionist, and the Phelbotomist are amazing.

I’ve been a patient here for approximately 30 years and I’m very satisfied with the healthcare providers and staff. I’ve had opportunities to visit most of the doctors on staff and I’m happy with each experience. I had one billing issue which was resolved.
I highly recommend Drs. Kummer, Leath and Lyons.

This office is extremely UNRESPONSIVE.feels like it takes days on end to get in touch with anybody. It shouldn't take days to schedule an apt but that's how this practice runs

Dr. Leath does not take your medical concerns seriously. Shame on you, a black ran medical practice, taking advantage of your own community. If you’re looking for a doctor office that wastes your money and is run poorly, this is the perfect place for you!

How do you have appointment times before the doctor’s office opens? If the phones are off before your opening time, how will I be able to communicate with your office? Oh, I know! Cause you want people to waste money on cancellation charges!

My wife and I have been very satisfied patients for 15+ years. Changed my perceptions about what a Dr.office could be. Easy to schedule even on short notice, very short wait times, good doctor-patient interactions and complete documentation. I continue to refer colleagues.

Sadly I have to find a new practice for my daughter. This practice has completely lost my trust and failed in their duty of care. My daughter had 3 days of fevers of 104.5, tested negative for COVID 7 times, had a telehealth appt & the NP told her to come in for labs. Amazingly, the lab staff *refused to do labs* despite the NP repeatedly asking them to do so and being upset about their refusal. Reality alert: children have fevers for more things than COVID. If they had done a urinalysis, they would have picked up a severe UTI / kidney infection and put her on antibiotics, but instead we had to go to the ER and pay $1000s for the gift of antibiotics. When the infection reoccurred with a low grade fever, I realized that Mt Airy would probably refuse her care again, and so I had to go to Urgent Care at AFC in Roxborough, which btw provided amazing and attentive care. I wish they could be our Primary! For the last 2 months I have tried to get Dr Lewis to call me back so that I could discuss and at least provide the opportunity for some reassurance of policy/protocol change but he has never contacted me. The nurse manager made excuses and did not say anything about the protocol that created the problem in the first place or that there would be any corrective action. Despite my daughter ending up in the ER, we never received a single follow-up or anything. I am actually furious at this practice. I can never trust them again. And every other physician I have talked to is shocked by this refusal to provide care for a child with a fever. It isn’t just a mediocre practice, it is actually harmful.

I have been trying to get out of this practice for the last couple of years. It used to be a good place and now I just find it to be really unprofessional, not up-to-date and unsupportive of patients. Doctors and nurse practitioners keep leaving. I no longer have my primary there. I just called and was pushed to hold for twenty minutes, bounced around to others who put me on hold, then pushed to voicemail. I decided to make my appointment online and the same nurse called me and told me I couldn't do that. I noted that I just called to ask that question but was put on hold and she hung up on me. Like I said, it's definitely time to leave this practice. I have a serious issue that I was hoping to get help with but this is NOT the place to go. I've been here for 13 years and it's my last year. Find another place if you want care, friendly and caring staff, and up to date technology. Also note this is only one experience, I've had others including one of the nurses telling they had a new policy of asking people to leave out the back door who are getting labs done. The back door is grimy and it exits into a back walkway that's just bad. Like I said, never.

I was recently transferred to this practice as a patient because my provider switched practices. I'm not feeling well and they refused to give me a sick visit until I come for a "new patient" visit at the end of the month. I haven't been this sick in years and now I can't even receive care - this makes absolutely no sense. Plus, the person on the phone showed absolutely no empathy, even though they could hear how ill i sound.

Have been a patient here for over 20 years, since my early 20's. Great, consentient, affordable, and community wide servicing icon! Also don't forget that Philly in 2022 was the rudest and unhappiest city in US (we're pretty up there on that list year in year out). Think about that when you read people's negative, outburst-like, reviews based on one experience or impression.
