My mom and I visited to acquire glasses for her. Receptionist was kind and helpful. The gentleman who assisted us was very helpful and gentle with mom. We appreciated their

Set up an appt, the prior week online, for Nov. 20,2023 at 9: 30am to get eyes checked and glasses. Confirmation email was sent to me for the appt. An associate called me the prior Friday to confirm appt and check if I was diabetic, which I am.
Showed up 20 minutes before scheduled appt, only to be told my appt was for 12/4/23 at 10: 45am. I showed them the confirmation email and was blown off for the original appt. Would not accept it.
Have been with Mr Sylvester since back in the 90’s when he was off Wayne ave. Never any issues. Being disabled, it is an effort just to leave the house for any reason. In this case was a total waste of my time because of their screw up without any chance of making things right.
They just lost 2 long time customers. Shame on you. Will take my business elsewhere.

From the moment we walked in we were helped by very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Derek went above and beyond helping me pick out glasses and leading me to what looked best for my face. The help was invaluable! I’d go back to him any day! Thanks to the entire staff at the Gateway location!

Had high hopes when the front desk staff was friendly and the initial appt seemed to go well, but the saga that proceeded from that point was shocking to me. Cliff notes: they made my new lenses incorrectly, maybe even with the wrong prescription. Instead of ever owning up to it (and I’ve never had any sort of problem with glasses before) they tried everything under the sun to make it seem like it was my fault or I was imagining it. “I just need to let my eye adjust” and “we’ll that’s your problem you usually wear contacts so glasses will seem weird” and “well because the prescription changed the shape of the lens changed” (my script changed from last one the tiniest amount). We’re talking condescension that went as far as drawing pictures of how glasses work and slapping the lenses right on my face without asking like I’m a doll. Now mind you these new glasses were so bad it looked like I was trying to view the world through the bottom of an old glass bottle or some swimming goggles or something. Warped looking and odd. My old glasses and contacts work just fine. After much back and forth and even trying new frames I’m convinced that instead of fixing these lenses once and for all they popped the very same ones back in different frames yet again. Case in point they didn’t even provide any paperwork to sign off on at pickup this time to document any of the order. Filing a formal complaint but don’t have much hope there either. Please stay away and save yourself some headache. Being lazy when it comes to someone’s vision…I mean why be in the industry?

Got these Versace glasses discounted for only $250 at MyEyeDr last year in 2022. Now in 2023, these same glasses are around the $300-$400s range.

Timing is everything when it comes to buying the good brand glasses over there. I have noticed there's a correlation with getting cheaper prices during the summertime.

FYI: unisex brand glasses are cheaper as well for adults with wider or rounder faces.

Great doctors, great service, and great staff that builds rapport with customers as well as getting the right glasses for them and making that their top priority.
