National Museum of the American Coverlet reviews
9Never knew what a cover was, when they came into existence in this country or that there were two different types. It was most! It's also a nonprofit so if you know anybody that loves coverlets a donation makes a great gift for any occasion!
Such an incredible display of amazing vintage coverlets. Who knows such a gem is in Bedford! We were in Bedford to dine in Bedford Springs when we drove by this old school. Out of curiosity, we popped in and so glad we did. We were given a great history and background of these coverlets by a old gentleman who runs the museum
. The location itself in a 1859 school is so great. Very impressive collections. Not to be missed if you are in the area.
Becky and I had a wonderful visit, fellow at front desk was very informative and nice to chat with. Well worth your time
This is a really great museum dedicated to a very unique American art form and the staff are an absolute pleasure and great to talk to.
Amazing Display of ANTIQUE COVERLETS AND EQUIPMENT TO CRAFT THEM. A GREAT EARLY AMERICAN LEARNING EXPERIENCE.
I waited outside with the dog while my travelling companion took a tour of the museum. Her reaction was that the exhibits were fantastic and fascinating. The vollinteers at the museum were extremely knowledgeable about the coverlets and willing to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for the art. My companion is a quilter and throughly enjoyed the museum. Highly recommended if you have any interest in this unique art and worth traveling to visit.
Beautiful collection. A lot of work was put into researching the individual pieces. You can see it in 30-45 min.
Interesting museum [re] history of weaving. Donations accepted at door. Walk the museum at your leisure; one floor; takes only several minutes.
Visiting the museum was such a neat experience, and learning the history of the American Coverlet from Laszlo was the best part! His passion for the work he does shows. Definitely recommend a visit if you're passing through Bedford, you won't regret it!
