Neighborhood Ramen reviews
15I’ve always been a big fan of neighborhood ramen. Always good food and friendly service. I appreciate them changing their menu seasonally but I got to admit this newly updated menu was alright. They used to have amazing gyoza and gyokai shoyu that are now off the menu and I hope they bring it back soon. Thank you!
Update: (1/22/24) Still great. Celebrated the 5 year anniversary by winning a bowl! And a 20% discount for our meal. It should be noted that the menu changes. So, get what you can get while you can get it. If 5 years have gone by and you HAVEN'T visited, yet, what are you waiting for? Sports Illustarted calls this place "the prime location for a slurp session. " (2nd dish pictured is the Tonkotsu bowl)
Update: (5/13/21) 5-stars. It was sunny, and warm.
Well well well. Talk about a life-changing experience. Got invited by a few friends to have ramen. Worth it. Sat outside (tent provided). Delicious. And I mean.kick your mother on the shin, delicious. If you haven't been here, you are missing out. (Dish pictured is the "shio").
The ramen is GREAT but served with a side of ineptitude and sheer disdain for customers by the staff. Every time I come here, I tell myself never again. This time I’m keeping my word.
So glad to have another amazing ramen option within walking distance of my apt! Flavors are on point here. Easy to come and eat by myself which I appreciate. Ramen has become quite the solo journey for me. My only thing I wish they had was some kind of green you could add! I got the salad on the side to compesante.
My favorite ramen in Philly. After coming back from a trip to Japan I was determined to find ramen that could taste like what I experienced there and was thrilled to find Neighborhood Ramen. The noodles are made in-house (a very rare find) and the broth in every dish is so deep and flavorful. This is the real deal (plus the owners frequent Japan so they know their stuff). Make sure to get the Yasai Paitan.
Don’t get me wrong, the ramen goes super hard. However, prices are not great and neither are the protein portions.
Friendly staff, quick service, just a little disappointed with the broth.it wasn’t as flavorful as I expected it to be.
On a cold, rainy sunday, I decided to have a ramen date. Let me tell you, it was delicious, and the playlist playing included my favorite songs—I even Shazamed about three of them.
Great creamy broth, the egg was done right and flavorful. I had extra spice added and wasn't disappointed. My only lack of 5 stars was I paid for extra pork and feel there wasn't enough. Pork was thin and less than what was expected. Still worth going back.
Great vegan options. The sesame salad was way too salty. The ramen was good, but it didn't blow my mind.
The flavor-packed, slightly tangy broth screams umami— so, so good. The portions are generous so expect to be full. They do not take reservations but their virtual queue moves quickly. Once you’re off the waitlist and notified via text, you have only 5 minutes to show up, so be sure not too drift too far way from the restaurant. All in all, good value, delicious, and balanced. Will be coming back!
The ramen is spectacular.
The service is very friendly, but it is a DIY (get your own water, silverware, napkins, chopsticks, at a station) place so it’s not getting 5 stars for service. Though do not regard that as a blemish on the staff, they were friendly.
Awesome service/staff, very chill atmosphere, and the food and drinks are divine! Best pork & broth I've had in a long time on the tonkatsu (with the egg of course), get the half & half with the hibiscus tea, too. Lovely all around.
Really really good! If you like Ramen, you gotta stop by. The broth is amazing. The noodles are perfectly tender. 5/5
The broth is rich and yummy. The ramen is good, but always need to ask them for firm noodles cuz they come out very soft by default. The gyozas are good but they are the tiniest things I've ever seen. Probably made for birds, not humans.
10/26/2022 edit: OMG just had the clam miso. It was beyond amazing. If it's on the menu, you MUST order it. No exceptions or excuses.
