I could go on forever singing the praises of Kathleen Stengel and her team at NeurAbilities. I'll start by plainly stating that I absolutely recommend this organization and that if your family is in need of the services that they offer, you need look no further.

For additional context, this was my experience with Kathleen Stengel, CEO of NeurAbilities:

My wife and I have 3 beautiful, happy, healthy children; 3,5,8. Our oldest hit her developmental milestones on or ahead of time, but our middle child appeared to have struggles. Her pediatrician evaluated her at all of the proper age thresholds and never suspected any development issues, but did recommend surgery to remove her tonsils, adenoids, and implant ear tubes, as she suspected struggles with hearing to be a primary driver of her development milestone delays. Post-surgery, 3.5 years old, she continued to struggle and we found that our youngest was beginning to approach his older sister with regard to developmental milestones, so we opted to seek out intervention options.

Knowing very little about the process, we went to our school district of residence to explore our options. She was evaluated and labeled with an eligibility of 'Developmental Delay' and connected with a Developmental Preschool near our home. We quickly found that she did not thrive in that environment and we began looking even further outside of the box for more options.

This is when we were blessed with the gift of Kathleen Stengel.

I was voicing my frustrations to a co-worker one day regarding the whole situation and she suggested that I speak with a friend who works in the space of childhood development. My co-worker gave Kathleen the scoop on my daughter's situation, with my approval, and Kathleen immediately responded with an available window to speak later that day. Kathleen was and is AMAZING! Her depth of knowledge, compassion, and empathy for my daughter's situation was absolutely INCREDIBLE! Kathleen connected me with numerous resources and was able to help me advocate for my daughter in a way that I never knew I could have. Over the coming months, we were able to have our daughter formally diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), which we long-suspected to be the case, and a whole new world of opportunities was opened to us for connecting our daughter with the care that she needed.

Our daughter has since received Autism-specific therapies that have resulted in her development skyrocketing at a pace we had never seen before. She is attending a school that we hand-selected (not as dictated by the school district) and she has even been connected with state funding to cover her therapies and education.

Each child is unique and requires their own special path to achieve optimal results. Kathleen showed us what that path looked like for our daughter and we will FOREVER be grateful. Kathleen is an angel and I cannot say enough good things about her.

Entrust your child's development to Kathleen and her team. It could just be the best decision you ever make for them.

A great place to work and to learn. There is always positivity and the office environment encourages a team mentality. Peer support and supervisor support are always present. After a year of being a NeurAbilities employee, my skills have increased drastically because of the BCBAs and BCBA-Ds I had the opportunity to work under.
