New Holland Family Restaurant reviews
17 We stopped in for a lunch and really enjoy our meal.
8/10/22. Stopped for an early dinner, was disappointed, salmon was over cooked and the coconut custard pie was burnt on top which curdled the custard filling on top.
Fish and chips excellent. You're offered switch in sides! And a roll! It's nice they have large/small meals. Also specific diet meals. The waitress was really on top of things
Food is a little bland, probably because they cater to elderly customers, but it is good. Great service and quality of food. Menu selection is great. Never had a bad meal here, you just need to add tons of salt and pepper to everything.
Soup and salad bar was very good polite and professional waitress was very attentive. We plan to stop there when we're in the area again
Ordered croquettes and the meatloaf. Vegetables were slightly overcooked, but the mashed potatoes were excellent as were the croquettes and the loaf. Will be back!
This was our first time eating here. The service and food were excellent. We were there mid-afternoon and there were maybe only six tables occupied by customers and very well spaced out. The hostess led us to a booth right next to an occupied booth at first, and we asked if we could sit one more booth away. (All other seated tables were at least 6 tables away from each other.) Her manner immediately changed and without a word, smile or nod, the hostess picked up our menus and moved them one booth over and walked away. It was the difference of night and day, immediately. And her demeanor stayed like that. When we walked up to the cashier to pay, she was standing leaning against the counter and never moved out of the way, never said anything like “How was everything? ”“Have a nice day” or “Thank you for coming. ” She said nothing and her facial expression was not friendly. Except for this employee, which unfortunately is the first person to greet and seat patrons when they arrive, this is a great place to eat. Our waitress was a sweetheart. I ordered the special ham&cheese wrap with cup of soup, but wanted it on wheat bread instead, and it was no problem. Food came out quickly. Everything was perfect. Cheesecake topped with cherries and whipped cream was delicious and the iced tea was fresh brewed and tasted wonderful. I would go back again. Just have to psych myself up for Ms Personality first.
My husband says all diners in PA are the same. This place made him very wrong. From the beautiful smile of the hostess, to the waitress being helpful, friendly and patient with me. I would come here all the time if I didn't live in Florida
It was our first time dining there and we were impressed! I had the crab cakes and my partner had the fried shrimp. The food was delicious! The service was perfect! The prices are reasonable. Not one negative thing to say! We will be returning!
Racist establishment! Food has no seasoning and very bland. Staff needs trainings on diversity and inclusion. A restaurant should never advertise political affiliation on a poly sign.
A place like home.good cookin', good service, good prices. And in August you have to try the waffles with fresh peaches, ice cream topped with whipped cream.yummmm
We had a group of 11 for lunch and got a variety of different meals. All of us enjoyed our food. I had their #1 club sandwich which was excellent.
Service was excellent but the chicken pie on special was not that good and believe it was placed in a microwave. Gummy pie crust onto and veggies and chicken were like mush inside.my friends food was great, he said.
Will go again, but will maybe get a sandwich?
Whenever we are in the area, we look forward to having lunch at the restaurant. The food and service is great. Prices are reasonable and entire staff is friendly. We have never been disappointed.
I would love to have eaten there. Unfortunately, they stop serving eggs after 11 a.m. And I got there at 11: 20. Seems like a very nice place. Clean quiet and unassuming. Hopefully, I will get an opportunity to stop by again.
Told the cashier my ham was cold and less than half the thickness as usual. She was rude and did not care or want to hear it. Said it was all they could get. Will not eat here agai
Passing through on the way to NC. Delightful atmosphere, fast friendly service, & delicious home cooking. Will definitely go back the next time we pass through town.
New Holland family is a nice spot to grab a quick lunch at a cheap price point. This time I got the cheesesteak and fries. I'm not a sauce or onion person so I get mine pretty plain. For diner type food, the cheesesteak was pretty good and I actually ate most of my fries which is worth noting since a lot of times diner type fries go to waste. Service is definitely more of a family type style which is hit or miss for some people; very casual. If you are into "Home cookin" type food then this is a good spot for you, because they have things like meatloaf and hot turkey sandwiches. Overall I think this is a nice lunch stop to visit on a semi regular basis if you're looking for something quick and simple
