Dr. Shields is an excellent physical therapist. He is very knowledgeable and an insightful diagnostician. He provides a variety of therapies and never pushes to overexertion. He is kind, compassionate, and fully invested in his patients’ recovery. I can count on his care and feel lucky to have found him.

I have been seeing Gary for the last 3.5 years. I have gone through two separate shoulder surgeries during that time (a bilateral bicep/should repair and a torn rotator cuff). Gary worked with me through pre-surgery PT as well as post surgery PT in both cases. Gary is smart, patient, intuitive and kind in his approach. He takes the time to really help you understand what is going on with your injury/recovery and in taking that time he gets to know exactly where you are at in the recovery - it’s a very iterative process with Gary. I would highly recommend working with Gary on any and all shoulder injuries and I am sure he is equally as good with other parts of the body (most of the other patients I have seen during my sessions over the last 3.5 years have had leg/ankle/knee issues). Lastly, Gary is a very kind person, he takes the time to get to know you and he truly cares about his patients. He is clearly very passionate about what he does (and skilled).
