Old Filling Station reviews
9 We have been going to The Old Filling Station for a quite a few years. We go about a half dozen times a year. We used to get the AYCE Fish, which was excellent, but then they did away with that. Then we started getting the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich, which was excellent. The beef was so tender and it came shredded. Now, the beef isn't as tender and they don't shred it anymore. It comes in big slices piled on top of the bread with very little gravy, at least that's the way ours came. I have a feeling it's not even the same cut of beef.
The taste is very good. But, we didn't think it was as good as it was before. It's a nice little restaurant. The waitress was very nice and checked on us several times. We plan on continuing to go several times a year as we have been doing. It's a great place to eat.
I ordered the BLT, it was very good but took a while to come out. When my order came out it was mixed between my brothers, mine had no mayo and chips and my brothers had mayo and sweet potato fries (my brother is allergic to eggs). The Raspberry tea was very good, the bacon was good aswell, I tried some of the chips and they were ehh. The service was bad but could be worse. The chairs are horrible, the bottom was too tight and was not cushioned, I was very relieved to stand up. Overall a 4/5 would come again.
Good value, large serving sizes and quite low prices! Homey atmosphere, though a bit basic and harsh lighting at spots.
This restaurant is a true gem. Delicious food with a "from scratch home cooking" taste. The omelette had fresh grilled veggies and the blueberry pancakes were fluffy and flavor packed. Great service and ambiance as well.
Ordered the French Toast, the bread was not soaked thru, therefore it was like eating regular toast. The waitress failed to bring butter until asked.
Food was not great, bar b qued chicken was a chicken breast that was baked too long with bottled sauce over the top. Waitress was very nice and on point.
Stopped in a week ago Saturday for the prime rib. It was the worst prime rib I have ever eaten. Not seasoned and tasted and looked like it came right out of the microwave. That grey look that meat gets when nuked. (Ordered med rare) Came with Au gus which flavorous yuk. The good; The salad with ranch dressing was very good along with the homemade bread. I don't recommend the Prime rib.
First time but we will be back! Abby is awesome and the place is very comfortable and clean. The food was very good with very reasonable prices.
We were passing through town and stopped here to eat. The food, service, and prices were great!
