Olde Hickory Grille, Lancaster PA

We came in for lunch today, October 8 2023. The girl at the front counter did not take names and she did not give any numbers out. She was not keeping track of who was next to be seated. People were coming into the restaurant in large numbers and she was not keeping track of who was ahead of who for seating. She took several groups ahead of us although we had been standing there waiting much longer than those that came in after us. We left the restaurant because we were getting uncomfortable from standing so long. And we were ignored by the hostess except when we greeted her when we arrived. We then called the restaurant to suggest that the girl either take peoples’names or give them a number as they entered the restaurant. A young man answered the phone. He told us that they are busy. We KNEW that and we knew we would wait for a table. But, when she took several people who came in after us, we thought how disorganized this was. So, we tried to suggest a system the young man to be fair to the customers and he became rude on the phone - this was totally unnecessary.

This sleepy little diner is a pleasant surprise. Tasty food, large portions, and decently priced! Our new favorite breakfast spot. The only place that knows how to properly poach an egg.

The food is delicious and the portions are huge. The coffee is abysmally weak, typical restaurant coffee, but I don't expect much when it comes to restaurant coffee.
Not to sound petty, racist, or elitist, but it is a problem when the server cannot speak English, getting your orders all mixed up because they don't understand what you are ordering. We spoke slowly and clearly to her, but she couldn't understand what we were saying.
I did not know one was required to speak Spanish in order to eat there.

Had the cream of chipped beef on home fries worst ive ever had potatoes were not done very little beef and taste like mush and i like my cream chipp beef.

Tried Olde Hickory Grill for the first time. The food was amazing! Got the lamb quesadilla - best ever! The meat was so soft and excellent flavor. Will definitely be back to try more of the extensive menu.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the food here. I ordered a roasted lamb quesadilla which was generous and delicious! The sweet potato fries were outstanding. The menu had quite a few unique selections. I was hard pressed to choose.however, I love Roasted lamb and took a chance. I was not disappointed!

Enjoy the local breakfast dinner. They do all types of food, I usually frequent for breakfast. Food comes out quickly, is quality and the service is nice.

My first time at this restaurant was pleasant. The food was very good, and I was surprised at the variety offered on the menu. I would go back again.

Olde Hickory has the best breakfast. Service is top knotch. Atmosphere is wonderful. Bathrooms are very spacious and very clean.

Service poor and order not complete. Too bad, used to be better. After waiting a half hour for our order, they offered nothing for our time and then they forgot the side order of bacon.

Great group outing for superb food and catching up. Atmosphere is quaint and charming. We all were there for a late breakfast on Sunday. I enjoyed my choice but was envious of everyone else's plate. All enjoyed theirs too. One of the ladies had some sort of fried sticky buns. That's my choice for next time. All staff were very friendly and accommodating. If it were just me and my hubby I would have loved to sit at one of the cute 2 seater booths. Our waitress was very helpful as my husband has celiac and is required to be gluten-free. He enjoyed the poached eggs, gluten-free toast prepared in the oven, and fruit cup. Not many places can do poached eggs. Old Hickory Grill was great! (Hubby did not have any reaction but this is no guarantee. But you already know that by now.)

This place is becoming one of my local favorites. So much to choose from. Chorizo eggs Benedict for breakfast and the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich for lunch or dinner are my go to.

Very efficient service, courteous, good listener, polite and always a good conversation with my friend Hazem every time I come in. My favorite breakfast spot in Lancaster!

The Older Hickory Grille is classified as a diner in a Google search, but it is definitely not a diner. The food was okay, I guess, but not a good value for the cost. The staff were friendly, but they were obviously understaffed the evening we were there. It took more than twenty minutes to get a highchair brought to our table, even though we asked before we were seated. I would not recommend for dinner. Maybe they are better at breakfast and lunch.

We had a wonderful waiter, Hazim. He was attentive, gracious, and got our 5 orders perfect. Kudos to Hazim! Also, my hot turkey sandwich was delicious. AND the zucchini was out of this world. Perfectly sautéed. I wish I could make it that good. Thank you!

I cant spread the word enough about Olde Hickory Grille! I have been here three times already and i look forward to being here more often. The menu has your usual breakfast favorites but they have branched out to include other dishes like lox and breakfast skillets. Both are fantastic! Priced right for what you get and the portions are perfect. Keep up the good work and thank you!

For me, this place just wasn’t it. Got breakfast for 3 and the bill was $50. I ordered fruit for my daughters pancake because it came with it, but asked for it in the side. Was charged $5 for that. My quesadilla had such large chunks of peppers and onion, it was impossible to taste anything else. On top of that, I bit into an eggshell twice. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but $50 is a steep bill for breakfast for food that wasn’t that good.

Very accommodating with 2 young children. First time there and would go back next time in area

Only good food was the mozzarella sticks they had. The waiter we have rather been on his phone then refilling are drink or see if we need anything. Then once the food was brought to us he never once check on us. FOOD WAS SOME OF THE WORST I EVER HAD. I WOULD HAVE THERE PLACE A 0 BUT I COULDN'T.
