Ophthalmology Associates-York

On behalf of my mother, who was treated so poorly. This place scheduled her eye surgeries individually, MONTHS APART, expecting her to just deal with it while she couldn't focus on anything. Luckily she found another doctor, quickly had her second surgery, and is much better off! She saw someone else for her other eye, you should too.for both eyes!

Dr. Bilder performed my eye exam, he is patient and thorough. Their optical shop has an impressive selection of stylish frames. The staff is friendly, professional, and helpful. They helped me choose 2 beautiful frames plus sunglasses. I appreciated the safety precautions in place for Covid. Will definitely return for next exam, highly recommend!

My husband was having issues with seeing clearly. He had eye exam at York Eye Associates and found out he needed cataract surgery performed on both eyes. We researched the list of opthamologists in our area (note-in and out of our medical insurance coverage). He consulted with 3 different opthamologists and chose Dr Bilder. He made my husband feel at ease. Explained everything in detail and answered all questions. Surgery went smoothly. My husband had no issues, was pain free, and noticed improvement in sight. Dr. Bilder called that evening to check on him. My husband is looking forward to having other eye done and seeing clearly again. Highly recommend Dr. Bilder. His entire staff was friendly, thorough, professional.

Dr Piehota did cataract surgery on both my eyes. I don't think I saw this good since I was in my 20s

Have only been going here for a short time & am very satisfied with their care. Everyone was friendly & nice. Saw Dr. Synder & Dr. Piehotta did my cataract sirgery. Realy liked them both.

Called twice to make sure they are in WellSpan network and take Helthy Card. Drove from Baltimore MD to Gettysburg PA to pick up Mom and drive her to York PA for our appointment to only find out they do not take Healthy Card and will charge us $200+ for eye exam and medication screening. Got only “sorry” and “it was a misunderstanding” out of Admin Lady. GREAT JOB YOU GUYS!

I went here in early February 2019 to have my prescription updated. Everyone was very nice, but they neglected to put the PD on my prescription. This is the distance from your pupils to your nose, and it's necessary for making sure your glasses are the right size for your face. When I called to ask for it, they said they don't provide that, but their glasses dept does. In other words, they're not going to give it to you unless you buy glasses from them. I started to get upset, because the last ophthalmologist I went to included this. They transferred me to their eyeglasses dept, and the person I spoke with said they'd be happy to do it for $20. I already paid for an eye exam! They are holding this information ransom to force you to buy glasses from them (I didn't care for any of the styles they carry) and I consider that unethical. I'll go get my PD somewhere else, buy glasses somewhere else (of course) and never go back for another eye exam, even if they are the most conveniently located place for me.

I would give 4.8 stars if I could, I saw an optometrist Dr. Snyder he was really good I liked him a lot, kind and thorough and told me some things about my dx I had not understood before the visit. He altered my rx from last one a bit and its very good. I ordered glasses through their optical shop (a bit pricey but worth it). The manager measured me up for a pair of progressives and she did a fabulous job I really can see better then pair form elsewhere. She also was willing to help me late when she was to be closing. I have some health issues so this meant a lot, as I was prob a challenge to wait on late last customer before holiday. The office (to me) has a bit of musty odor, mostly in double door foyer, but thats all relative to ones health, I have a lot of allergies. I did do ok though. It is very clean and the bottles they drop in your eyes were sealed and clean. I will say though it does depend who waits on you, when I picked the glasses up (I was the only customer) the fellow seemed like he just wanted to get done and I unfortunately over heard him commenting on me when he didnt realize i was in ear shot, Kind of hurt my feelings but I guess he just lacks empathy or something because I was not a problem and do have some health issues and I did tell him that at the start of visit hoping he'd understand. Over all Id recc'd this place, if you dont feel confident in the person setting up your glasses ask for someone else or come back another time because I can see very well with these in comparison to past purchases at other facilities. There may be in store discounts available if you ask.
