Oreck Home Center reviews
6I went in to get a new Oreck Buster B and he said he didn't have any new ones in right now and so talked me into buying, for a reasonable discount, a floor model that he assured me was for display purposes only, which he swore up and down that it has never been outside the store. The lighting in this store is really dim. So the outside of vacuum looked really new when I was there in the store. When I brought it home I realized that something was off, it was way too smooth and shiny on the outside almost like someone had taken polish to it. Then I looked in the holes where the screws go and there was dirt caked inside all the screw holes. I put a "new" HEPA filter in the back of it that I had at home. I turned the vacuum on once for a few seconds and the smell coming from it was terrible. I took the filter off the back to look at it and the thing was filled with "dirt and pet hair" from just a few seconds of being on. What he had done is took a very heavily used vacuum that someone probably had used for years and polished it with some kind of polish to make it look shiny and new on the outside, but he forgot to clean in the screw holes. So he lied when he said it never left the store and was only for display purposes only. When I returned it he was just like "well I gave you a good discount on it". He then "let me" take the money I paid for that and put it toward a new one that he just happened to get shipped in the few hours that I was gone. If you get a vacuum from him never get one unless its brand new and you know for a fact it is coming right out of the box. Even if he tries to say he doesn't have any new ones or tries to give you a discount on a showroom floor model don't do it.
Brought my mom here to find a light weight vacuum.
Guy tried to tell us all the models on the floor were less than 6 mo the old. They
are all demos and for sale.
Tried to sell us one for top dollar. I asked if they are somewhat new and only used for demos why are all the letters worn off, esp on/off. Said they do a lot of demos.
Went home did more research come to find out the model he was trying to sell us was discontinued years ago. Called oreck direct and told them they should be ashamed to allow someone to sell their products as almost new and only used for demo which was not true. Scammer
Just a heads up, you have to pay a $60 "diagnostic fee" up front (regardless of if they can fix it)
Drove 45 minutes to get a new vacuum cleaner. It’s 2: 25. They close at 3: 00. No one is here. Terrible.
I wish I could give this rating less than one star. I
was charged $75 for this shop just to check my vacuum. To have it fixed would’ve been the same price if I went to buy a new vacuum. They would not refund my $75 or any part of it. I would not recommend this place to anybody.
If I could give this place a 0, I would! I took my well-maintained Oreck Forever Gold for a tune-up to this store as the Allentown Blvd.store closed. First, the owner wanted me to pay up front, something that wasn't done at the other store. When I returned to pick up my vacuum, it clearly wasn't the same vacuum I dropped off two weeks prior. The guy swore up and down that it was, but the vacuum he was trying to return to me was scuffed and dirty. When I questioned him, he offered to "let me" put the money spent on this vacuum toward a brand new vacuum. The difference would be almost $300. NONE of the vacuums in the store looked new. Unfortunately, I didn't have the paperwork with the serial number with me, so I left without my vacuum so I can look for it at home. I am livid! This vacuum belonged to my father and he would be so upset by all of this.
