Oriental Pearl reviews
17I really love this portion size. I had General Tso’s Tofu. I loved the inside soft and pillowy texture of the tofu. I would’ve wished the coating was more crunchy and less chewy, as well as more flavorful. The rice wasn’t sticky in my opinion and on the verge of too hard. Overall it’s okay, not the best.
I had to update my review. It's been 5 months since I ordered here. I decided to give them another try because it's convenient. Oriental Pearl is just pathetic at this point. It used to be so good about 10-15 years ago when Ben was the manager and Lee was the server. They were both so friendly. Now the staff is miserable and the food keeps getting worst. It's just awful. They charge $18 for mediocre General Tso's! The fried dumplings were black. The springs rolls were greasy inside and outside of the bag and I was missing the second order (paid for 2 and only got 1). The crab wontons were flat and wimpy. And they should get rid of the bucket of cigarette butts right outside the front door. Seriously who smokes cigarettes anymore? Go out back and smoke. It's gross.
While their food has been better recently, the Kung Po Chicken lunch special is mostly rice, which is disappointing. I ordered the same thing last Friday, and it was the same. The rice is supposed to be the side dish not the other way around. If i wanted that much rice, I would have just ordered rice.
Try going there again after a bad meal. It only got worse. Ordered orange flavored beef and got big beef cubes, lg chunks of onion and green peppers, and 2 tiny slivers of orange peel. Daughter order the General Tao tofu and she said it was unedible. Both ending up getting severe diarrhea from the alleged meal.
The food is delicious!
The chicken and broccoli with white rice was amazing!
Highly recommend!
Consistently amazing food, kind and friendly service. The general tso, pineapple chicken friend rice and shrimp mei fun are highly recommended. The egg rolls and shrimp spring rolls are perfect! Dine in or pick up. Always worth it!
The people working here were very nice which makes this review harder for me to write but my food here was terrible. Flavorless sesame chicken and soggy crab Rangoons. Maybe it was just a bad day for the food but I won't be going back. I only went because Hong Kong restraunt (my normal place) is closed on Tuesdays.
I had the Chicken Broccoli with brown rice. It was fantastic and perfectly prepared. They also serve tea with your meal and I love the tea here (I had two mini tea pots of tea). Service was very good. Definitely worth the visit.
Had dinner with a friend again last evening. It was spectacular once more. I had even asked for the red curry chicken but mentioned my low sodium diet. They came back to me saying it would be too salty due to an ingredient they have to use in it. They suggested the garlic chicken which was so yummy. I was very impressed by all this. The fried pork dumplings and fresh orange slices were so yummy along with crispy noodles which were NOT greasy, The service was superior!
Average Chinese food, same price as most in the area but pretty bland compared to some other spots. Fried rice had almost no flavor, spicy garlic edamame was good though.
Great food and service. We got the cashew chicken, Singapore mei fun and pineapple fried rice among others and each item was delicious. We will definitely be visiting again.
So inconsistent! Sometimes good sometimes awful. Tonight my sushi was terrible. Falling apart, not rolled right. Or full at all! Waste of money again.
Nice Asian restaurant. Has both Chinese and Japanese cuisine, all very good. The lunch specials are a particularly good deal at $10.
Food is ALWAYS delicious here! This is our favorite Oriental restaurant! If we lived closer we would eat here much more often! We bring friends and family for Special Occasions and most agree it is the best! Even Oranges served at the end of the meal were juicy and especially delicious!
Dumplings were ordered fried and they tasted undercooked and on a rotten piece of lettuce, beans in the tofu sauce tasted sour or rancid, used to be a great place but the quality has gone down hill.
Great food and excellent service! Johnny is always friendly and ensures the accuracy of your order!
Tried it for first time (pick up) and really liked the quality of the food. We picked up three different kinds of soups and they were all quite good. The soups were not too salty which is great. We also tried the spicy garlic edamame and it was delicious.
Used to be our go to Chinese restaurant. Last 2 times (one take out one dine in), the quality of the food has gone downhill big time. The chicken for generals chicken was clearly frozen and just gross and mushy. Mongolian beef had very little flavor. Wonton soup was unimpressive. Likely won’t return and will find a new local restaurant.
