Made a reservation, cancelled it several days later. Was told to call back after the first to get a refund. Called, but they said they were busy and short-handed. Finally had to get refund from credit card company.
Now 2 months later they’re still charging my credit card for rent, never stayed there.
FRAUDULENT, THIEVERY= PA DUTCH CAMPGROUND
Update- Scot apologized and said he would reverse the charge. DIDN’T HAPPEN
IF HE HAS YOUR CARD HE WILL CHARGE YOU FOR ANYTHING AT ANY TIME
Update- The Owner Scot told me he reversed the charges. Another lie, had to call credit card company to take care of it. He is a lying thief.

This is a camp ground where we put the camper for a few weeks. There's no service and no rooms included.

DO NOT PICK YOUR OWN SITE! None of the sites are numbered, website says all sites have 30 and 50 amp service. But most sites have wires hanging out and disconnected. Not to mention the horribly unlevel stone site that we struggled to get somewhat even. Never again

Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with this campground. It's nice that they have short term stays, seasonal and annual sites. I had an annual site. From the start, it was strange. I had to ask three times for a fire ring, and even then the guy acted like he was doing me a giant favor. Asked four times for a picnic table, never got it. The people staying at the campground are super nice - one couple gave me a table they weren't using! Same with the propane tank for heat, multiple requests and paid in full, waited weeks and no delivery. Finally I said, "hey its getting cold and I'm running out of propane, can you get this tank delivered PLEASE? " After I was there for a few months, they charged my card for the entire year without my permission. The owner said he'd return my money, and he never did. Then the roof of my RV started leaking and I had to put it in long term storage under cover to wait for the repairs. So I had to vacate the site. Here's where the fun really started. Multiple emails, multiple calls to try to recover some of the funds they charged me. Finally I was able to talk to office staff and they always said,
"we'll pass on your message. " Always, "we'll pass it on. " When I did talk to the owner, Scot, he said he'd "look in to it. " Then quit answering my calls. Then the staff said, "he said you left on your own. " Well that is true. My tough luck for getting a leak and having to leave. My tough luck for them charging my card without my permission. They won a whole year of fees. I'll never sign another annual contract with a campground again. They don't have the staff to really handle issues, just be aware of that before you stay there.

From the moment I came in to acquire about this place everyone has been friendly & courteous. Was given a nice ride around the camp to show me where everything is. Granted it’s not in season but it’s still a nice place to be at. The neighboring campers were all friendly helping me get my camper in and situated.
Can’t wait to check out the nature in this area.

Since there aren’t too many reviews, I wanted to add that we had a wonderful weekend, the kids playground was great, and by far the best dog park yet. The store sold penny candy and the seasonal residents were so so nice. We participated in a first ever fall fest with good food and music, and the jump pad kept the kids busy.
There are many improvements that the owner is working on, I can’t wait to return next year to see the all changes and of course looking forward to the pool.

I'd give it a 0 star review but it won't let me those were absolutely the worse people to deal with at the front desk.
Horrible experience.

Awful people! The Karen at the front desk charged me $8 to WALK in they wouldn’t let me drive in! Threw my brother out for driving a little over the speed limit and didn’t even give a warning!

Upon reading the very limited reviews of PA Dutch campground in Bernville, PA, I was very nervous to go there for our Pennsylvania road trip. This was our first time towing our rig that far, and without solid reviews to go on, we were relying on the word of the owner and the women that work in the office. My parents also camp with us, and after several back and forth exchanges we were a little put off by miscommunication with the website and the expectation in reality, this being a payment in full prior to arrival due to the holiday weekend. The owner was able to help us out and make an exception.

Other than this, when we arrived, we were taken back by the beauty of the area. The campground is very well-maintained, clean, and there is a lot of work being done. I think that the prior reviews on here are definitely older, and this campground deserves a fair shake. The owner explained to us that they are doing a lot by the way of electrical updates, updating the sites to make "buddy sites" and making the campground more eventful for patrons. A jump pad had just been installed for kids, the pool area looked clean and pristine, there was maintenance going on daily (painting posts, staining deck boards, etc.) The owner invited us to a complimentary cookout on July 3rd that we were unable to attend, due to going to Hershey Park that day. (Other activities that we didn't get to try: movies, pool tables/rec area)

Now for the negative. When we pulled up to our sites, we were delighted to find that we were on "buddy sites" with my parents, where we actually faced their camper (probably me more so than my husband, haha.) The caviat was that these sites were relatively new, and they had not accounted for the pull thru aspect of my parents site. They had to back into the site, which wasn't a big deal, but would have been if there were someone across the road. When my parents tested the electric before plugging in, they discovered that there was no ground. This was immediately remedied on the spot by 2 staff members. Similarly, we had an issue on our site with the sewer, and the same 2 staff members popped right down and addressed it immediately. So essentially, no negative!

The campground was quiet and peaceful. If camping in the area, we would most definitely return. It was a fair distance to Hershey and Amish Country, the main areas for our visit.

We went to pick up our friend today who lives there around 1: 20 6/18/22. We went to the gate and the lady that opened the window at the entrance was extremely rude to us. She practically acted like how the stereotype Karen acts. My boyfriend just said we were picking our friend up (normally they open the gate) and she said “okay! ” Was extremely rude and doing a bunch of hand motions along with it. She made my boyfriend and I feel so uncomfortable. We just waited in the parking area for our friend to walk to the car instead of dealing with the lady in the entrance area

Camp sites were a bit close together. One camper left dog inside and left. Dog barked for 4 hours. Management was very nice and helpful
