Paoli Battlefield Historical Park reviews
13 This is the site of the Battle of Paoli. General Wayne’s (Continental) battalion was massacred under nightfall by General Grey (Britain) by use of primarily Bayonets. This was one of the final battles prior to Washington’s encampment at Valley Forge.
The rallying cry of “Remember Paoli” was of course coined here which would be use to invigorate Washington’s troops for the remainder of the war.
Not that impressive as far as I was concerned. Not a lot there. Definitely not worth ever going back to
Very well preserved battlefield despite all the surrounding development. Serene and peaceful.
Very nice historic site if you are in the area. I would not necessarily drive a long distance because it is relatively small but is a great local gem. It is a pretty setting with informatice placards and audio tour. There are nice walking trails as well. It is a nice place to take the kids for a walk and a discussion of the history of America. It is a great country afterall!
Lovely park w commemorative monuments and an annual paranormal tour. Site of a massacre committed by the Brits during the Revolutionary War, a sad moment for the USA. Def recommended.
A small, tucked away historic battlefield. Incredible local history from 1777 that you should visit and see. Several memorials recognizing all of the wars since. There is also a playground for the kids. You can do both in an hour easy.
Wreaths Across America went off without a hitch and was lovely. Can't wait to get out there in the spring time though and jog ️
Paoli Battle Field is a beautiful family park. There are two baseball fields for those whose kids ply baseball, nice upgraded play area, a small pavilion with a few table and a few picnic tables around the grounds. Many go there to walk on the circle of black top and through the woods. A nice place to walk your dogs but be careful some owners forget to clean up after their pets. I enjoy the information points that give the history behind the battle field. Small stations around the field and park.
The woods there provide a very peaceful place for a walk and the people there are very pleasant.
Very peaceful, the information plaques that are on the battlefield need to be replaced because of the weathering.
Ran here from East Goshen, it's a nice place to break up the monotony of road running! Cool plaques can learn you a thing or two if you happen to take a water break too!
An underrated and often overlooked battlefield right outside the city. Site of the Paoli Massacre of American troops by the British. A well preserved and easily walkable field. Well worth a visit!
Great playground and good historical markers, but a bit spread out. Good place to walk around.
