Our experience with Pelican (and our salesperson Bill Struble) was top notch.
We were on the verge of purchasing from another store when we encountered some "philosophical" challenges. Pelican carried the same line. Initially, they were unable to match the other price (though we were OK paying a bit more to avoid the aforementioned challenges. When we arrived, Bill informed us that they would meet the price.
Bill was pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. I would highly recommend.
The service was excellent. Delivered my furniture two days after I bought it. The selection was OK. Pricing was good.
I've been to Pelican once before and they seemed to have pleasant employees. My last visit I unfortunately had to deal with Chris, wow, what a rude person. Anyway, just avoid that super condescending bald old man and you should be fine.
I usually don't go out of my way to leave a bad review but I feel I need to warn prospective buyers. First, I'll start with the good things about Pelican. They do have very good quality hot tubs for sale. We did our research on hot tubs before buying, but we should have done more research on places to buy hot tubs first.
We bought a 7 person Cal Spa hot tub from them. The sales person/manager, Chris, sold us the hot tub and delivery was for May 2021. We did receive the hot tub in May, as promised- but with a different cover than the cover I ordered. Really wasn't a big deal to me and I wasn't mad, but I did want the color cover that I ordered and reach out to find out when I could get that. Chris said in two weeks. It's over 8 months later and just today I got the cover. As I see it, based upon my experience, Chris's lack of customer service skills is their MAIN problem. We called and called to get our cover. Every time we spoke to someone who was really nice to us but couldn't help us. They just told us Chris would call us back. Didn't happen. Chris NEVER called us back. If it wasn't for Paul (?) and Lilly I don;t think we would have ever received the cover. Again, the wrong color cover is NOT a huge deal. It was the lack of customer service, including honesty, from Chris that was the problem. If he would have just reached out to us and told us we would have to wait for 8 months we would have been ok with that. Ignoring/avoiding the conversation was the wrong thing to do. We are putting up a big gazebo this summer by our pool. We were going to buy the furniture from Pelican, but based upon this lousy experience we won't. I feel, based on the other reviews, that this guy is a bruise on this business. Stop treating your customers like a one night stand, Chris. We spent over $11,000 on a hot tub and feel we deserved a better customer experience.
Friendly, helpful staff got me just what I needed to keep warm and safe in Vermont. They have a wide range of products at appropriate prices.
The worst experience ever. Came to rent skies for the whole family. The sales person who was helping us looked like he was annoyed by the fact that we came in. He was getting irritated with every question we asked and was giving us “last chances” to make our decision ️. I wonder if he really expected me to spend money after that. I understand short staffed and so on. But store manager need to reconsider who they allow to serve customers if they want to have successful business.
Great selection of winter wear and outdoor gear! Awesome snowboards and other sports equipment! Saw some nice items that I wasn't even planning on but will be picking up on my next visit. Helpful and friendly staff! Thanks!
We went in to rent skis staff was not help full could not even help 13 year old with boots. Like every one was stoned and laughing at a kid struggling to put on boots. What a joke Spend the extra money go to a better ski shop
Great place for patio furniture and so much more. We purchased patio furniture from Sharon. She is knowledgeable and helped us find the items that best met our needs. The delivery team was courteous and professional.
Purchased a pool over the phone, on Sunday 7/18, the sales rep Paul was very kind and helpful. I asked the return policy and he informed me of it and told me if for some reason I needed to return the pool it wouldn’t be an issue as long as everything was in the original packaging and undamaged. As it happened, after speaking with our township on Monday, we were unable to make the pool work in our yard. We never picked up the pool. It never left Pelican’s possession.
I called pelican multiple times today, (7/21) in an attempt to get a refund. My info was taken down by various reps and I was assured I would be called today by a manager to be refunded. They close at 6pm, and by 5: 50 I was yet to receive a call. I called one more time and finally got through to the manager.
I informed him that I would like a refund because I wouldn’t be able to take the pool. The manager was very rude and condescending, he continued to ask why I needed a refund (well within the return policy). He asked why I would buy a pool if it I couldn’t take it. I continued to ask nicely for a refund, and he continued to question me. If I’m well within the return policy, I don’t understand why it’s such an inconvenience to issue a refund well within the return period on a product that never left their store.
He ended the phone call by telling me “he‘ll take care of it” and hanging up on me. No refund info, no paperwork, no email receipt, nothing. Just a hard time, and poor customer service. Would not recommend. A company that sells such big ticket items should have much better customer service.
I hope I receive some paperwork for my refund soon or I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.
Very simple don't buy a pool there if you don't have an installer. We bought a pool in March 2021, Paul assured us it will be installed by the end of June, beginning of July and guess what? We are still waiting. I waited until mid July, we are very patient, to call Paul twice, and both times he said the installer will call us. My Pool is in the driveway since May. BTW if you know a Pool installer let me know.
Bought a hot tub from this place. So far the sales experience has been good. Still too early to give a true review. Will update after delivery.
This place is wonderfully, had issues with a 1990 Hayward filter and Chris found me everything I needed, would highly recommend them, he was professional and knew what he was doing will be going to pelican in future for all my pool needs.thank you pelican!
Have rented form here for 4 years. Had to switch boots this year, once on the mountain they did not fit as well as in the store. Went back the next weekend, great service in getting me in boots that are a better fit. Revising my review accordingly- should not have posted a bad review before giving Pelican a chance to rectify.
A unique selection of 4 seasons worth of goods. Plenty of well known brands for skiing and snowboarding as well as higher end hot tubs and everyday pool supplies. Game room options, including air hockey, pool and ping pong are a great addition.
