I'm in this hospital right now had major surgery Friday I will never come back here again so unprofessional and lazy

Giving 2 stars only because I was brought back to a room right away. I spent 3.5 hours laying in pain before anyone came to see me (besides the initial triage nurse). I tried to call to the nurses a few times, they said they were coming but never showed. The only helpful employee was the phlebotomist who show compassion and empathy.

I spent a total of 7.5 hours for 20 minutes of fluids and blood work. At one point my mother walked over to the nurses station to ask about my care and the nurse couldn’t find my chart! They had it in the wrong place!

The doctor was nice but very rushed because there is only 1 doctor on midnight shifts. I would have gone to Jefferson but I couldn’t ride in the car for that long. MVH or Penn Highlands is a joke!

On Christmas Eve I came in via ambulance I was stuck in the waiting room for 2 hours before they took me back I was the only one in the waiting room I finally get back to the room and the staff was ignorant I came to be treated for sever nausea during pregnancy and to receive fluids they drew my blood gave me zofran through my iv but swore I wasn’t dehydrated so no fluids we’re given at least another 2 hours had went by before I got to see the doctor whom spoke to me for maybe 30 seconds and I never saw him again they diagnosed me with a uti and that was it they rushed there service it wasn’t very clean and they didn’t take the time to treat me appropriately a week later and k go to Jefferson for the same problem I was given 3 bags of fluids because k was in fact severly dehydrated they have an ultrasound and kept me until I said I felt good and it was clean the doctor sat and listened to me when he asked me for a urine sample to make sure i didn’t have a uti ect I told him that Mon valley said I did but I didn’t take any of the antibiotics given to me due to me throwing up turns out I didn’t even have a uti worst hospital ever they need closed down

This establishment deserves zero stars. My grandmother had fallen at her nursing home and was ordered x-rays by her PCP. I brought her into the radiology department to complete the x-rays, but her pain in her hip was excruciating so we went to the emergency department instead. I attempted to provide a background of the situation and was met with attitude and resistance by the staff. Mind you my grandmother is 95-years-old and pleasantly confused. No one introduced themselves or offered their title when they entered the room, so I had no idea who I was speaking to at any given time. Dr. Tseuong walked in and out of the room without performing a physical assessment on my grandmother or evaluating her hip which was the primary site of her pain. All he said was “we’ll take some pictures” and left. I had several questions that were left unanswered. After two hours of waiting, I put the call-light on and asked if the nurse could bring in something for pain for my grandmother which was the main reason why we were here. My frustration was obvious, and Richard, the RN, did nothing to help the situation. In fact, he raised his voice at me when I was expressing my concerns. I myself am a nurse and would never speak to a patient’s family member that way, no matter how irate or emotional they might be. The complete disregard for my grandmother and myself as a concerned family member was baffling. The staff could be heard at the nurses’ station carrying on personal conversations and laughing while patient’s call-lights were alarming. I’m amazed at the poor quality of care here and will absolutely never return.

MY wife is now in the er and the med pump has been beeping for 20 minutes. Two calls for the nurse and nothing
No pump medicine. UPDATE third call and we got someone to come in and start the med pump. FINAL update. The staff that come in her room were very compassionate and very attentive.

Went to mon Valley for kidney stone and when I was getting ct scan i couldn't get up after because the pain and spinal stanosis ask the lady to help me she said no we all got back problems thought that was ignorant going to go to Jefferson now please explained why the nurses are so rude they suppost to make u feel comfortable and safe

This is the worst hospital ever sitting in er waiting to be seen and there have been people sitting here for 4 and 5 hours waiting to be seen good thing i am not dieing

came on on emergency? Dr figured out it was my gall bladder. Next thing was 2 scans and then surgery. 1 was home eating a sandwich b four pm.

Had 10/10 abdominal pain and took an ambulance to their ER. Was put in a wheelchair and left in the waiting room. They took blood and a urine test. They wheeled me to the bathroom for the urine test and left me there. I spent 20 minutes sitting in the hallway before a security guard came by and I asked for help. Sat in the waiting room for 6 hours and when we asked for updates on what was going on or how long it would take, everyone just said "I don't know. " Left after 6 hours, still in pain, and very dehydrated. Would rather suffer at home than be ditched in a waiting room for 6 hours, ignored, and treated like trash.

Penn highlands is just a name change. Got in fast and had high hopes but they didn't listen to me at all. Poor communication by all. Doctor generalized my issues and didn't give me the tests nor care I was there for. Another patient was screaming profanities in the hallway and himself asking for security but no one showed up. Meanwhile, the police are stationed right outside the ER doors. They put the patient and everyone else in that ER's safety at risk. After twice buzzing for a nurse no one came in. Went to leave and talked with a nurse who said the doctor would be right in cause i just needed test results and was going to leave. 15 minutes later, no doctor. Ended up walking out with no test results or care. Complete waste of time and my insurance. Can't even wrap my head around how this place can remain open. Shocked that they haven't been sued a thousand time over.

Grandmother's Jewelry was stolen. When my mother died 5 years ago, I walked in on nurses pulling off her rings.

Staff isn't vetted. Hasn't been for years. Staff isn't reprimanded for unethical behavior. Obviously. Been a problem for years.

Worst hospital ever wasn't spending no 5 hrs to be seen my leg was hurting really bad when someone in very serious pain or having other type of symptoms get them check first before anyone else that don't have a serious problem

I’ve never seen so many rude and disrespectful medical professionals in my life. My father came with stroke symptoms and was left to sit for HOURS before getting a CT scan. When we tried to get updates on results, we were rudely scolded to stay in our room as if we were in prison. The reviews are not dramatic… I don’t understand how they are legally allowed to treat human beings this way. Disgusting.

I came into the ER with extremely high BP and HR and told the registration desk woman that. I could not see I had blurred vision, dizzy, confused, and also I had to bring my 2 year old daughter with me. I was really upset that there were people in front of me that had been taken to triage before me and I had to wait 2 hours in the waiting room feeling as if I would die. I did get to triage and a woman took me back as soon as I told her what was going on. I cannot express the gratitude to the staff that was in the ER of how well they took care of me and even my baby daughter who did so well being that I was there for 8+ hours. I really want to give a huge thank you to Larry, Pamela, Lillian RN, and Dr Jeffrey Tseng, and the radiology clerk who took me back for my CT scan. They had codes going on, too many people in the ER and they acted still as if I was a top priority. I had an abnormal lab that could have eventually killed me very soon had they not acted on it so quickly. You guys have spared my life and my children also could have lost their mother if it were not for you guys. I am so grateful and appreciative. I can relate to the whole situation being in the Healthcare field. It has changed significantly. With people like the staff whom I had just mentioned, they kept that ER running despite all of the other things going on. I know that people have changed since this pandemic and could careless about their Frontline workers, with me being one of them.you guys have my utmost respect and I am so grateful to have had you. You guys deserve more than what you are being dished out. I hope your higher ups see this and know how much each and every one of you have meant to me. I feel a lot better than when I had came in. Keep up the great work! Pam thank you so much for distracting my little one. You have no idea how much that meant to me and helped me being that I could not function by the time I got back into room 9. Thank you all so much again!

Brought my mom in around 5pm for severe abdominal pain. Been here for over 6+ hours. Worst E. R I’ve ever been to.

IM JUST GONNA SAY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVERYTIME I WENT THERE I NOW GO TO JEFFERSON HOSPITAL THEY ARE AMAZING!
