Penn Highlands Tyrone reviews
14The E. R night staff is amazing. 100% best service and treatment I've ever had at an er.
Completely disgusted at how my husband and daughter were treated. It was as if they were an inconvenience being there. Both tested positive for Flu. They were told it was viral and nothing could be done that they wasted their time coming in. When my husband asked for an excuse for my daughter for school he was told she only has the flu. She’s not contagious and there’s no reason she shouldn’t be at school. The Dr.was extremely rude and very condescending. We absolutely will not be going back. If you don’t like your job then quit. You don’t treat people this way. Especially in the healthcare field.
This is the second time i have seen this particular Dr. Both times he was very short with me, would NOT listen to me, acted like I was a complete inconvenience. He was agitated and annoyed with the nature of my visit. The first time I seen him, it was bad. This time was worse. Makes me very uncomfortable to return if he is there. I can advocate for myself very well, which he refused to stop interrupting me long enough to allow me to do so. HOWEVER. I gave 2 stars JUST for my nurse (whom i have also had twice, and BOTH times she was amazing!) she was kind, compassionate, understanding and one of the best nurses i have had at this hospital (i wish i had her name)
I will drive the extra distance to med express If this Dr.is on the next time I have to visit!
Daughter had wisdom teeth removed 2 days prior, she has been vomiting since 3 am could not hold any water down. The oral surgeon told us to go to ER for IV to hydrate her they gave her a small bottle of water sent us on our way, 5 mins in the car ride home she vomited well thanks she still has not held anything down. The Dr had no empathy at all said she was fine. Well she was not fine.
The ER Dr.was rude, dismissive, seemed irritated by my questions, didn't want to hear my concerns, questioned why I was there, did not put a diagnosis on my discharge papers, did not put a quantity on the prescription that he wrote, did not do a wound culture on an open abcess. Normally I have had great care at Tyrone Hospital but if I ever have to go there again and this particular Dr.is the attending I will be going elsewhere for care. In and out in record time, registration didn't even have time to get up with me before he had me going out the door. Very disappointed in my experience with this particular provider.
Got in, gave blood, got out, quick, painless, friendly staff, clean facilities, , no problem. Went to imaging on different day, same thing
I have never in my life felt as much compassion towards a patient than I did yesterday. I had an abscess in my face and I was in severe pain. Before I went in I dreaded it thinking that no hospital would help me it's more of a dental issue not the case here. My nurse went above and beyond not only to get rid of my pain but to make sure I was comfortable in good spirits and all around having a great experience. Best nurse I have ever dealt with in my entire life. The doctor was also very compassionate and very generous. She let me know what she was doing every step of the way. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Very clean and sterile room. And I no longer have any pain. I am 100% pleased with my over all experience. I will be going back when and if ever needed. Keep up the excellent work. You guys are amazing and that's an understatement.
Went there when I sprained my ankle The nurses there are very nice and friendly and the doctor was okay, very quick with information but is very helpful. Very old old hospital but very clean
If you want the altoona hospital experience but in a quicker manner than Tyrone hospital is the place. The care is very questionable. Bedside manner is almost non existent and the hospital could improve the cleanliness of certain areas. Privacy is also not a thing here. But hey it's quicker than dealing with basically the same things at altoona.
Went to UPMC Altoona because my it was close to home due to urgent care not seeing because I said I had blood in my urine and needed and antibiotic to treat it. UPMC I waited for 4 hours in the waiting room after I gave a urine sample and never saw the doctor the staff was rude and incompetent. I left and drive 10 miles to Tyrone to your hospital was seen right away by a nurse and a doctor and was treated with dignity and kindness and I gave them a urine sample and within 30 minutes the doctor knew what I had gave me antibiotics and I feel so much better. Thank you Tyrone Hospital for taking care of me quickly. I will come back here again instead of. UPMC
They screw around for days after getting released papers and make you pay for their management not doing their jobs. Making pay more for something that was a written agreement and hold you there and not let you leave. After all necessary release papers signed. If I could give it a negative 0 review i would
I have been nothing short of impressed with my recent care at Tyrone hospital.it has a small town feel with big time, incredibly intelligent doctors and nurses. Dr. Biggs in radiology is the best as far as I'm concerned. Dr. Burns Johnson equally as amazing and compassionate. The nurses that cared for me had years of experience and were excellent.i'm so happy to have competent care close to home that's not upmc.
Best hospital around. Very caring and knowledgeable staff. Very clean and family oriented. You don't wait for hours for someone to get to you.
My mother was released after having surgery that has forced her to use a colostomy bag. She was sent from the hospital with one bag, the one she had on then told if she needed another she would have to return to the er, the bags the hospital uses u can not get at any retail store in the USA, they didn't show us how to change the bag or how clean up goes. This hospital has let my whole family down.
