Penn Medicine Rittenhouse reviews
12For you people complaining about waiting and using this as an excuse about giving them a bad review think about this, when it’s your turn don’t you want the doctor to spend time with you and not rush you through your visit? I’ll bet you said yes, well the doctors are spending time with other patients so please wait patently, Dr Hodde is my doctor and is excellent, the whole staff is also excellent, and during these times relax they will get to you, have a great day!
My mother was admitted to the Hospice and it was awful, the communication is poor. The one star is for the security staff who were more caring!
Be prepared to wait 2-3 hours after your scheduled appointment time to actually be seen. If you must see a doctor at Penn Med, do yourself a favor and block out your ENTIRE day regardless of why you are there or what department you are visiting. They have no respect for their patients' time.
My husband was just transferred here from the ICU this past Friday afternoon on high oxygen therapy due to pneumonia Infection complications from lung cancer. Although nursing care is excellent, what they keep harping on here and through their social workers and councilors is when it might be possible to begin Home Hospice care, for the third time in less than three days. This despite my emotional pain at my pending loss of him to which they give lip service. Home help aid would be too limited for my current condition of heart failure to cope with and I wouldn’t be able to attend cardiac rehab due to their inability to guarantee coverage. The should spend their time caring for the patient not trying to get rid of them.
DO NOT trust this place! DO NOT let this place take care of your elderly! They gave lethal medications to my grandma to kill her slowly over time. She was still well one day, and literally the next (after checking into this place), she passed away. If you love your elderly parents, or grandparents, I would suggest to keep them away from this evil place, and all their home-visit demons, as best as possible. You have been warned!
Nurses are always great. However security gave us a hard time when entering and leaving the hospice care unit with the patient's therapy dog. The dog was trained to assist with medical emergencies and handle day to day tasks, and was NOT an emotional support dog but a licensed therapy dog. Security tried tellingt us several times that the dog had to take the service elevator and not the guest elevator, which is illegal to do with therapy dogs. You do not know if the dog's patient is with them (as you cannot ask) and to make someone take a different elevator because of their disability is a crime. Took us weeks of fighting before the hospice relented.
Absolutely marvelous care from everyone involved in my son's therapy. You couldn't find a better place to be. The doctors, nurses, CNAs, food staff, everyone makes you feel like you are their only patient. Your recovery is their top priority. Thank you Penn Medicine.
Staff is very friendly & professional with excellent support for the family, the nurses are patient when it comes to explaining conditions to family members. Thank you Penn Medicine
I have been coming to Penn Medicine Rittenhouse since 2014 and up until recently would have given it 5 stars. The last two appointments I had were with a Fellow who did not appear to have the confidence he should have by this point of his career. I’m not saying he was not knowledgeable but to me confidence and being decisive is what gives a patient the feeling of well being & knowing they are in capable hands. I didn’t get that feeling. The 5 star rating was when Dr. C. Plastaras was there and in charge. There was a feeling of professionalism, genuine caring and most importantly superb care with Dr. Plastaras. Now that he is no longer employed by Penn, I don’t think I would be getting the expertise I expect and am used to. When ablations are being done on your C-spine, it better be done with a “ We’ve got this” attitude which I always felt. As an RN I’m very particular with my complicated medical care & not sure about what the care will be like now at Penn Spine Center. I have some some serious thinking to do about my future medical care & where I should be going.
My Doctor is Dr. Caldera, DO both the Dr and the staff are friendly, quick to get seen by the dr, the staff always welcome you with a smile, all the staff and Drs are compassionate, friendly and most importantly THEY LISTEN, REALLY LISTEN AND THEY DON'T JUDGE YOU! If you are in need of a pain management Dr. This is the office you need to be a patient in, they do everything in their power to diagnose and treat your injury and keep you feeling safe and secure and pain free!
