I can't get through to any of the phone option! I have tried them all just to try to make contact with them if only just to get my records and leave this practice

I have no complaints about the medical staff but the practice itself, I do. When my primary physician left the practice, I was not informed. Now they are part of Penn Medicine and you have to go through Penn to make an appointment. I called for an appoint due to a respiratory infection and was told they had no open appointments for 3 weeks. When I requested an appointment online I got a call from Penn 2 days later and they put me on hold to wait to schedule the appointment. I think I need to find a new primary. This is ridiculous.

I've been a patient here for over a decade. This practice used to be great when Dr Mehta and Dr Shearer were still here, but they have such a high turnover rate I feel like none of the previous doctors are there anymore and I always see someone new every time I come in. It's impossible to get through to anyone on the phone to make an appointment or for any other reason. I called last night before closing, was placed on hold for several minutes then hung up on right when they closed at 8: 01. I left a message with the answering service since it was an urgent matter, waited for a call back today and didn't hear anything, called them back myself and waited on hold for nearly 10 mins without getting a live person on the phone. I feel like I have no choice other than to go elsewhere.

Rudest front desk people ever: (They want to call you for an appointment, take you in and let you sit in room for like 45 min. They care about money and not time and health.

Next issue: Patient got call from doc office that lab work has been sent but so patient took quest appointment on Sat sept 9 2023 10.20 am, quest told that no blood work for patient, so called doc office and gave them fax number (called about 3-4 times) until 11 am no one sent paper work to quest. Called them again and someone told that front desk just sent fax but quest never received (do not blame quest because they did receive fax for other patients). Waited until 11.30 called doc office but never received fax. Returened home at 11.45 as quest closes by 12 on Saturday.

Took one more quest appointment on Tuesday 09/12/2023 9.10 am, quest never received blood work globally or fax paper which was sent (not actually sent). Called again, call center person said talked to Annie from front desk and she is sending right now, then husband called again after 15-20 min and it was never sent. Later he stayed on line and asked them to send, thats when got paper work which was 10.20 am but it was wrong paper work. She said she will correct and send, but never sent. Called again, talked to front desk person (diff person) she asked Annie and said we will send it now, asked why it wasn't sent right away, she said our system is new and we are learning. Its 11.12 am I am still at quest and still not received corrected work. How is this system? Do you all actually care about patient and their time?

Brianna Jacobs and Clare Rech are wonderful. They listen and show true compassion. My other family members have seen Kessler and have been happy too. Yes, the reception/call center has had some issues, but I think once they have had some time getting every one on board with Penn Med, they will get those kinks worked out. Please don't let a phone issue stop you from seeing the excellent medical providers. The techs and nurses there are very kind too.

Horrible waste of my time and complete incompetence from the staff answering the phones!

My family initially and then just my children were patients for over a decade when it was Detweiler Family Medicine. I called in to schedule a sports physical for my son and was asked to update his chart with our personal information. I was on the phone for nearly 10 minutes and not once did the staff say they no longer accept our insurance, instead he set up an appointment and explained new staff who would do the physical.

I took time out of my day to bring my son there and when checking into his appointment they asked for his insurance card. I was told then by the front desk that they no longer accept his insurance as of last week and that they had just sent letters out tell patients.

This is unacceptable. The staff answering phones should be trained to ask for and provide patients with this kind of information. Don't waste people's time or day!

I am now so glad we are finding a new doctor's office!

I have been a patient of Dr. Kessler’s for several years. He is a fantastic pcp. Overall, the quality of care at the office and high provider turn over has made continuity of care difficult. In addition, the office has a few providers that are a bit abrasive and stigmatizing for individuals with depression or anxiety. Several of my assigned providers left the practice with no notification until it was
Time for the scheduled appointment. I enjoyed the idea of a small practice, but as of July 2023, they are merging with Penn. Ultimately, Dr Kessler is amazing but the overall practice does not incorporate feedback or listen to patient concerns. Follow-up from staff is limited at best.

Update: just as frustrated. Tried to get a sick visit after two visits to the er and was told. It until September (end of month). In asking how to send a message to the office through the portal since they changed ownership, I was told to ask someone else. While it’s frustrating to start with a new pcp, it’s absolutely time to move on.

I've been a patient at Detweilers for about 10 years now. It used to be a great Drs Office. Now it's sunk way below the worst Drs. Offices in the city. Kessler is a good Dr but he doesn't use his time well, and if you need refills you had better call at least 2 weeks in advance. As of right now, I've been waiting for my scripts to be called in for 4 days. After 11 yes that's 11 phone calls, still nothing. I don't know what is going on with them anymore I really miss Dr. Dunn, please bring him back.

I highly recommend Dr. Robert Detweiler at Family Medicine. Dr Detweiler is a very knowledgeable and thorough physician. He took the appropriate time to answer all my questions and was very helpful in how he explained everything. He is kind and compassionate and the staff is also excellent.
This office has Walk in Express Care, Telemedicine and Physicians Assistance. They have convenient hours and are also open on Saturdays 9am-4pm. I’m greatful to have found such a great physician.

Said I had allergies in June 2018. Diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer late August. Thanks for nothing. Get CT scan with color when you turn 50 years old
Be your own doctor. Dr Deweiler NO help. They can only treat Pink Eye.

Honestly hadn’t had much of a problem with this place for many years and decided to continue to use this office as my primary care even after i’ve moved an hour away, but recently the communication with the reception has been horrid. Today, I knew I was running 30 minutes behind, and called to check if I would still be able to go through with my appt. I was told that that was fine and everything was good.after arriving and going to check in I was informed that I would have to wait till 12: 30 (2hrs after I had arrived) in the office with the slight chance she would be able to take me in earlier. Had I been informed this when I first called I would not have wasted my time and money to make the trip up to the office and rescheduled. At the time I called I had no expectation to be seen or allowed to come, but given the confirmation from the office that it was fine I am now beyond frustrated with the lack of communication. A simple heads up or even a call back if the information was not known in the first call would have been greatly appreciated. Presently, I am unsure if I would like to continue to attend the office any more no matter how much I actually like my doctor.

This place is less like a clinic and more like a dystopian check-up factory. Be ready for long wait times and short visits with a doctor who may or may not care about your health. I'm sure there are better places around here.

Absolutely love this practice. I’ve been going here for years. Highly recommend. I see Dr. Kessler. He always listens to me and collaborates with my ideas about my heath concerns.

Without sounding too jaded, I'm on a community plan. Went though the steps to become a patient here with help from the insurance provider, whom even called in and talked to them, set things up. Fill out their little forms and.

They call me up then and tell me that, no, that's wrong. They can totally take my plan but not like this.so just find another doctor.

Thanks for nothing!

A total of 30+ minutes on hold to make a sick appointment to be told they can't see me for 5 days.
I've been a patient for 15 years but will now be looking for a new provider.
