Penn State Health Medical Group - Colonial Park Primary Care

I've been a patient for about 4 years. I've had to switch primary care doctors a few times. Dr. Basarahalli and Dr. Peter-fritz are both very unkind but highly reccomended for some reason. Though the office staff is very friendly and always go out of their way to help. I've had a few complaints periodically but I reccomend Mckenna Lenosky. She is wonderful and so very kind.

I've been going to this office for almost 2 decades and I cannot believe how low they have gotten. A few days ago I call to see about getting an appointment and because I haven't been there in a while (due to covid) they now have to re-register me as a new patient and first available appointment isn't till January, 4 months away!
After today, I am officially done with them. They have changed appointment days and times for my parents without any notification one too many times for my liking and I am over it. At first I thought maybe i got the information wrong but today when I called to confirm an upcoming appointment (due to several previous incidents) they ONCE AGAIN changed the date without ever notifying me. How unprofessional and rude is it to lie in the customers face. I had it written down, recorded it on my phone and even had my parents write it down. Completely disgusted and over it.

Very slow in getting your prescriptions renewed, have to make appointments months in advance. If your sick, they can never get you in and refer you to an Urgent Care or ER. I have an appt with a new doctor's office hoping to switch.

Went in for a physical that's covered by insurance, got a bill a couple weeks later for a wellness exam because the doctor gave me a referral? Apparently they can charge you $110 and change your appointment type and not tell you until the bill arrives in the mail. And they won't change it back to the physical that it was originally scheduled as. Tried contacting billing and nope, nobody will do anything about it.

It used to be wonderful when holy spirit owned it now that pennstate owns it its terrible when you call it can take a hour just to talk to someone when it was holy spirit it was maybe 10 mins at most till i could talk to some one the worst hospital holy spirit could of sold to i went to holy spirit to get away from penn state

NO EMPATHY. THEIR MAIN GOAL IS TO GET YOU OFF THE PHONE. I tested positive for Covid. Called my doc's office; held for 27 minutes, they picked up, put me on hold for 20 minutes & then hung up. I called back 20 more minutes holding.told them I had a compromised immune system & needed an RX for Paxlovid. After 4 hrs no RX, so I called back held for over 25 minutes. They claim system problems. (Which does not make you H. U.on a person or not get a message to the doc) They said they would get the message to the doc.
Next day, No response. Called back held a long time. Explained again. Asked if an RX could be sent or doctor call me. I explained the urgency. All day, No RX no c.b. I called 20 minutes before closing, #1 in Que. Held until closing & then hung up on again.
Called right back, now answering service saying they are closed. Asked to have a doc call me back explaining my past two days.
On-call Doc called me back, quickly mumurring her name. I started to explain, but I guess she already knew, immediately, loudly speaking over me: I don't have your charts. Go to Urgent Care if you are that sick! (The Answering Service could have told me that) Why didn't they just say that initially. Obviously my choice would not be to sit in Urgent Care for 6 hrs.while sick with other sick ppl when they could have helped a couple days before.
They don't care! Not their problem.

This place is an absolute disgrace.
The only redeeming facor, is the one man at the front desk was very pleasant and kind to speak to.
The doctor I saw tried to tell me that I didnt REALLY need my anxiety/depression medication, and to stop taking it to see if my anxiety/depression worsens? ! I've been taking meds for that issue for several years now. And theyve helped a lot.
Not to mention that when you require a refill for your prescriptions, they wont respond to your pharmacy in time or even contact you and leave you without medication. Even called the after hours number to be told that A. Me getting withdrawal symptoms were not an emergency issue (For an ADHD medication ive been on for OVER A DECADE) and that B. There was no doctor on call to speak to!? Absolutely attrocious customer interactions here. Do yourself a favor and avoid.

Went to my Dr's ' office, my Dr Peter Frizzts at Family Medicine, 4230 Crumsmill Rd and was refused the blood test from the person working in that position in this day.today, Friday Jan 20,2023. It was my understanding that she could not do it, but the employees at Quest where they do blood work as well told me, she just did NOT want to do it. I was under the impression that I needed more indept blood work done. But that was not the case. I was disappointed but not mad. I was there from 2: 30 to 3pm. Only the check in nurses assistance was very helpful. I did not get her name. She had short stylish blond hair, was very nice, a lil hvy set lady, very professional and very patient and helpful. I'm B.pardo, Dr Donny M Letter Frittzts patient. He's awesome.
