Pennsylvania Counseling Services (West Shore) reviews
5Hannah has been remarkably patient and helpful to me. I've never experienced any issues with scheduling or billing.
This place is a joke, and if you are in real need they don’t help, I was bawling my eyes out in there office and all they could do is give me a list of others to see. I walked in and the receptionist said oh we already ran your insurance so your good, then states I need to pay X amount of money before being seen Because of my deductible, but this business did not even have the kindness of calling me and telling me I had to pay over one thousand dollars to be seen. So I drove 35 miles there and 35 miles back for nothing. Very disappointing. Would not recommend.
I called this place because I had been having waves of panic attacks all day every day for about 2 weeks and I was at the end of my rope. No one called me back. I even tried their online form in case I was too hard to understand over the phone. I was in deep distress and not one person bothered to contact me to help me get an appointment or to suggest I call crisis intervention or suggest where I could get help. I'm sure there are a lot of people in distress because of COVID but there is NO excuse for not even returning a phone call to schedule an appointment or recommend another place. Their counselors may be fantastic but if you cant get past an incompetent intake staff who think phones are too difficult to operate, then it doesn't matter because you won't be seen.
I just moved to the area from out of state and needed to find a psychiatrist locally for medication management. I called this place because they were listed on my insurance and was told that in order to receive medication management I would need to see one of their counselors for at least 3 months. I explained to them that I have been on the same medications for years and I just needed to see someone for medication management and they refused and said I still needed to see one of their counselors for 3 months prior. I also tried to explain to them that I only have about a months worth left of my meds and that stopping them suddenly can cause very serious side effects and they seemed to have no interest in helping me at all. It seems like they just want your money and don't actually care about you.
