Pennsylvania Department of Transportation - Photo License Center, South York reviews
9I’ll never forget being absolutely degraded by the lady who did my road test.the way she yelled at me (over a non threatening mistake in the parking lot, AFTER a well done road test) gave me such severe anxiety. I’m just glad she didn’t act that way while i was on the road.
Didn't have to wait long and the staff was very efficient and helpful. Got my PA class C driver's license (Russell has to wait for his Real ID one.)
Guy with glasses and orangish beard at desk by door NEVER ASKED if i had my camera card as i told him i was there to renew my license. He gave me a ticket and a form told me sit on the right side. I told him i have a camera card. He gave me another ticket and i sat on the left was out in less than 15mins…. If i hadnt realized that i didnt need the form since i had my camera card with me IN MY HAND god knows how long i would have sat there, got to the front counter and then have them tell me oh you have a camera card you didnt need to fill out that form go sit on the left.if you have a camera card, youre on the left side to take your photo!
And ugly security guard in there was too serious about his job. I was a foot infront of the red tape at the door as soon as you come in and he told me step back LOL …… okay bud ️️️
Stopped by here to get my son, his first picture license and had such a great experience! From the time that we checked in and got our number, we were there for about a total of 15 minutes, may be less than that! They had everything well organized. It was a very busy location, like most of them, but our experience was great. The young man that was working at the photo licensing desk was super sweet, very friendly and helpful. Overall, a nice experience for visiting a DMV.
I wouldn't visit this place unless it was absolutely necessary
I my case it was because I needed my driver's license renewed.
Without that requirement I would avoid this place just like any other governmental facility. It is full of bureaucratic functionaries and fellow apparratchniks most of whom serve no useful purpose other than to waste taxpayer dollars.
Why does a photo license center need an armed guard?
I went in and handed all my documents and then I was given a number. I waited for over an hour to find out that the only reason my number was not called is because they DID NOT enter my number into the system. The people running this scatterbrain operation needs to be fired. Some of us have a LIFE and we have better things to do than sit around.
Smoothest and fasted driver's license renewal I've experienced in decades! Well oiled machine. Thank you!
Gave 4 stars instead of 5 for only 1 reason: The lady working at counter #2 this morning was rude to an older gentleman who simply seemed hard of hearing and minorly confused due to unfamiliar technology (answering questions with the keypad.) I'm sure she tires of repeating the same instructions each day, but he certainly did not deserve her impatience or attitude.
If you can, take your driver's test somewhere else. They will fail you for absolutely no reason. I was told I can't get my license after I perfectly parallel parked but I didn't use any signals when I was going out.in an empty lot. That instructor can go kill himself
The " Gatekeeper" lady in Gettysburg is the worst. Nothing but problems, definite power trip. They wonder why people that work at DMVs have the reputation they do, she's why. Left in frustration, went directly to the York office. No problems there at all, great people, easy peasy. And no armed security guy in full tactical gear like the one in Gettysburg- there's an obvious reason why he's needed there.
