The rudest and nastiest people I have ever encountered and that say a lot being I work in Health Care. My daughter was there to change her name due to marriage she wanted to hyphenate her name due to her culture. The nasty man continued to say to us and i quote "WE ARE NOT IN MEXICO". Ok I see how it is. The gentleman manning the desk as you came in even apologized for his actions. They are discriminating, rude and nasty. And yes we had all the documentation that was needed! Don"t waste your time with such a nasty place.

Except for the amount of detail you must provide because your new to the state and it is no fault of the workers at this facility, the process, though a little time consuming, went very well and all personnel I came in contact with were extremely helpful.

Very little wait time for a learner's permit test. All employees were very helpful and courteous. In and out in less than 45 min.

Lots of people waiting outside but moved quickly and efficiently. COVID measures taken to the extreme. Our wait time was about an hour.

Good staff. Very professional. I have never had a problem with the people that work there. Always remember that you treat people with respect and they respect you in return. The job is stressful and I think they do very well.

Terrible.what they do not tell you is that the section where you take your picture is a separate company from the actual driver services. So you sit through there line to have them tell you that you need to go sit through the other line.

In the facility for 1 hour and 57 minutes.not one person smiled.that should tell you something on it's own.

It's a typical DMV. They give you the run-around for hours. You wait in way too many lines, and the workers treat you like you are an idiot. PA needs upgrade their online processes like other states are doing. It will save everyone a ton of time and headaches.

I'm wondering if part of the hiring process here is
A.) Must hate people
B.) Have choked out at least one kitten
C.) Be a miserable f@$k

My experience. DMV employers are generally (GENERALLY of course there are exceptions as even a blind squirrel finds a nut) condescending bastards who are overpaid and underworked.

The second time I've been to a Pennsylvania DMV to get a Pennsylvania license. I'm from out of state the first time I didn't have my birth certificate fine my fault this time I brought two utility bills my driver's license my social security card and my birth certificate and it still was not good enough because my one utility bill was not physically mailed to me it was a print out. On the sheet it doesn't specify that it has to be physically mailed to you. He said well your lease agreement I said my lease agreement has my address on it but it's not physically mailed to me it was handed to me he said that was fine I said how come that's fine. I said but this printed out with my address on it is not. He said Pennsylvania rules I said why is it always a hassle coming to one of these places.

Driver examiners are very anal about everything and will deduct points and fail testers for rediculous things including a tester not following the examiners preferenced driving techniques

I have always been treated nice without a long wait, I've been there many times and every time I was out of there between 20-30 minutes

Ok experience.didn't take forever because there wasn't a lot of people there. Two out of the three employees were pleasant and kind acting. NO CASH OR CREDIT CARDS, that was definitely a downside.

I had a very positive experience at the DMV. Did not have a long wait and the staff could not have been nicer.

Day of my test, its pouring down rain. Traffic is slow and backed up. Go in to take my test, the gentleman told me "Its raining awfully hard. You sure you want to do this today? I would reschedule if I were you. " I chose to continue, I'm fine driving in the rain.

Went through the test, he told me I did everything perfectly, was great on the flooded roads, but he has to fail me. For not using my mirrors. I think he just didn't want to come out in the rain! What a rude person!

Went to have my license renewed, which required a new picture. Was treated quickly and nicely, with a dose of humor. No one was in front of me, so my number was called immediately. The person waiting on me said, “We’ve been waiting for you! ” Said he didn’t like the first couple of pictures, so took a couple more until he was satisfied it was a good one. Really nice, friendly, and I was out in a couple of minutes with my new license! Thanks, Warren!

This place is horrible. The instructors are terribly rude to those being tested, and customers (yes, we are customers) in general. Jim is the worst and he loves to degrade people and play mind games (these are not simply 'trick questions'), or maybe he's crazy and needs to retire. I witnessed him yell at a customer on the phone that they weren't speaking loudly enough, and that their request would be filled if he could "get to it".

I had two different instructors on my first two tests. Once I failed because I went 26 MPH for about 3 seconds in a 25 MPH zone; I was "speeding". That is not how it works in 'real' life. One has to be careful not to drive too slowly lest they be penalized for lacking confidence in their ability.

I was cautious about looking back and forth at a stop sign as I recall learning to wait about 5 seconds, and the instructor told me to "Go! He's letting you go first! "

I was told I don't know how to follow directions because I didn't see the left turn I was told to take in advance, which was well-hidden by vegetation and at a strange diagonal angle. This does not test driving ability, as cautiously turning around is far safer than making a screeching turn.

Jim yelled at me multiple times. I specifically recall on my last test, he told me to park between the "blue and black" cars. There was a blue car, a space, a blue car, a space and a black car. He freaked out asking why I was parking where I was, and pointed to where I was supposed to park in the other spot (which happened to be between two blue cars).

Jim accused me of not checking my mirrors after he asked me the steps to parallel parking, within which I included a mirror check. I told him "I surely did check my mirrors, sir", to which he replied angrily, "I've been doing this for 40 years and you did NOT check your mirrors! " I see from the reviews I'm not the only person he's pulled this one on.

Jim tries to trick you into driving with your emergency brake on. After I forgot to turn it off before driving on my first try (yes, my error, but he was trying to trick me into doing something damaging to my vehicle), I knew his tricks. I asked if I may release the emergency brake before pulling out, and he told me not to. Of course, I did anyway as I was not going to drive with it on. That is extremely dishonest, dangerous, and a horrible example to new drivers.

I've been told by 5 people they didn't pass their test here until their 4th try; the same happened to me. You may choose to decide that we're all horrible drivers, but does it not seem strange that on the test I finally passed, I had been asked if I'd tested before, and so many others share the same fate?

To quote another review: "The fellow that works here that resembles an overweight turtle is a true testament as to what happens when a genuinely bad person is allotted a tiny amount of power over his fellow man. " This is Jim; the visual description fits him perfectly.

I cannot rave enough about how good my experience was at this DMV. I had scheduled my drivers license test on a Saturday for 11: 15am, but I arrived early around 10: 40am. There was hardly any wait and within a few minutes I was being helped by Josh at the counter who also administered my test. He was extremely polite and didn't try to be intimidating at all which helped calm my nerves. Amazingly, I was out of the DMV with my drivers license within 30 minutes - before the time of my appointment!

The negative reviews of this place were unnerving at first but after this great experience, I would definitely recommend this DMV to others.

Staff was welcoming and extremely efficient! I was there for my PA-DL photo, and my grandson was there to take his drive in exam. I was taken immediately after registering. My grandson had his exam w/in 15 minutes of his scheduled appt. I was very impressed by their level of professionalism and customer care! Other PA-DMV locations should be modeled after this one.

The fellow that works here that resembles an overweight turtle is a true testament as to what happens when a genuinely bad person is allotted a tiny amount of power over his fellow man. If you can help it, take your road test elsewhere. Literally, anywhere else.
