Pennsylvania Hospital:Hall Mercer Community Mental Health Center, Philadelphia PA

Took a friend here and after waiting 6 hours in the waiting room in crisis my suicidal friend was screamed at by a nurse for crying and being frustrated. If you can’t handle someone crying and being frustrated, maybe you shouldn’t be working in mental health. My friend lied to be discharged before she was admitted because she couldn’t face being there with such horrible people. It’s a shame that most facilities like this in the area all have similar reviews.

I was brought in by ambulance without anyone and I was terrified I was barely ever checked on. (I am aware of staff shortage so i always put that into consideration) I was depressed scared and confused came in trying to kill my self and left feeling the same way. It felt like no in cared about me except one nurse but I forget her name

This place is disgusting! Dirty & you are greeted with ignorant people right when you walk through the door. They leave female patients unattended with other male patients. They are so unprofessional in a Crisis situation. They are not there to help anyone unless you walk in admitting to wanting to kill your self. No wonder there are so many self medicated people walking the streets of Philly. There is no help for these people! These people do not care! This facility needs to be investigated & rid of those who have no compassion for life!
