Good food served fast! Waitress was great with the grandkids. Restaurant was clean and tidy. Only hard part was parking. Lot is small, but you are in Philly!

Now the food sucks and was over priced before Covid. I think you have to have track marks to be a waitress there

Yes they are you standard diner in South Philadelphia. However with that said the place is clean in and out. The staff are really nice from the time you get a table to the end paying your bill.

The speed of service when I've been there is great. Busy or not so busy. And the great looking pastries as you walk in is very very inviting.

The food is always tasty and cooked to perfection. Would love to see an African American waitress who does not look caucasian in there like me and other African Americans. One AA is a cashier but I would love to see one of us on the floor and more Caucasians wearing their mask at the checkout at the register. They are very defiant about wearing their mask even with the sign asking them to wear their mask. I give service, cook, and food a 5.

Stopped there for breakfast on a sunday morning and the BEST bar non service we experienced that weekend. The wait staff were friendly and on point. The food was tasty, well cooked and brought still piping hot and quick.

Horrible went there for funeral luncheon chip beef on toast ice cold sent it back still wasn't hot waitress no good I wouldn't even give it one star

The food is great, and make sure you get John S as your server, he is gorgeous and a great guy

I have ordered the salad with the crab cakes before for about $20 and it was quite fresh. I ordered two salads today and the crab cakes in this salad were not good. Full of filler and no eggs. Unfortunately the price was still $20 and it was not good. I could never order from them again for that reason. Just give the people what they pay for

Was in a little bit of a rush and time crunch was seated right away on a Saturday morning servers were so nice and friendly was in and out within 20 minutes

Had a First time meeting with girlfriend I hadn't seen since BEFORE the pandemic started.it was nice to chat and chew

Went there as a suggestion from a friend. Was expecting just a regular diner menu. It was, and so much more. We went for the specials and we were not disappointed. I would definitely go back.

I went there with a friend because we were craving for a steak.
The meat came a the right temperature but not with the right sides. The waitress was kind but her service not that good. Just ok, nothing exciting about this place

I haven't been there in years and the food is ok but not as good as it was before covid. The menu is smaller with less options. They still give you a lot of food but it didn't have much taste. The potatoes taste steamed then fried to order. They used to come with onions and peppers now just steamed potatoes. I got the Tuscan omlette the provolone cheese didn't work for me. Maybe I will do American next time. Overall it's a good diner.

Nice interior and bathrooms, large food portions, and friendly staff. However breakfast food and drink options seemed limited compared to other diners.

Rude people work there I have a gross me out for nothing on the reason this is a bad rash used before because I have an accent They talk to me badly and I never come back for this diner me and my family And my friends

The food is good. Too bad the waitress Coleen made the experience terrible. First time coming back in a very long time, and left disappointed and annoyed after the waitress was miserable and acted like serving us was an inconvenience to her. Didn’t say a word just put the food down on the table and walked away. Never came back to check on us either. The next time she comes back is with a check that we didn’t ask for yet since we decided to order a cheesecake, she then angrily asked which flavor and brought it over with a new check and left it on the table and we never saw her again after that. Didn’t say hello or goodbye nothing. I didn’t realize having customers is an inconvenience. The place was not busy either, since it was after lunch is over. I always treat people with respect no matter the circumstances in my life, and wish others would do the same rather than drive customers away. What a shame.

At first the waiter was rude, I said something to my wife about maybe her judging us of our age thinking we wouldn’t tip which I’m old-school gen-x. 20% is subpar for service industry anything less is only because service sucked. Well she must have heard me cause her attitude changed right around. Food was great, establishment was clean. Food came out quicker then I’ve ever had before. Everything was good other then that first incident but, to some first 5 seconds can tell you everything you need to know so, yeah. Lol

Penrose Diner has some delicious tasty food with fast and friendly service. The food has flavor and the service is top notch. Can't be beat. Anything on the menu is worth trying and always fresh.

Everything is always good and waitresses are always nice. I would recommend this diner to others.
