Sat on the hold for 30 minutes on two separate occasions without response. Scheduled online and walked in for diagnostics, they turned me around stating that they believed it was the transmission and wouldn't do the diagnostics. Recommended I go down the street to an aamco and stated it was open. It was not open, terrible experience.

As usual the folks at Pep Boys, Shadyside were up to their same old tricks.providing excellent service with a smile to boot. I've been around enough to get a sense when people like what they do, you can just feel it when it's there. That's why when I need something automotive that's where I go.

Don’t even bother to attempt to use this location for service. It’s hard to get to the point that you can even book an appointment because they don’t answer the telephone and on the rare occasion that they do they have no problem leaving you on hold for over 30 minutes. This is no exaggeration! Obviously they don’t need the business. Go somewhere else!

I had an appointment at 4pm solely for a diagnostic in order to better schedule future repairs. Got there at 330pm. I asked about how long was I looking at; and the front desk person said about 5-530pm. I'm fine with and it's not worth me getting an uber home to come back in a couple of hours. I wait, and wait, 5pm comes and goes, 530pm comes and goes, their retail closes, and my vehicle hasn't moved from where I parked it. I walk down to get some food, eat, come back, car still hasn't moved. 645pm rolls around and realizing they close at 8pm I ask if my car is going in tonight and I'm told they are finishing a brake job and then my diagnostic (which costs $120) will start. 7: 00,7: 05,7: 15; now I'm just like I want my keys so I can go home, but there's no employees around 7: 20,7: 25,7: 30; car not moved. After more than 4 hours I'm given my keys. I lost three hours of work I won't get paid for, spent 4 hours in a public environment during a pandemic and I didn't even get a sorry. I thanked her out of habit when I got my keys and she said have a good night.

Front desk could improve a bit in the “customer service” department. I have gone a several times and I felt they were being mostly honest with repairs needed. Would recommend if you don’t have a personal auto shop you frequent to.

Zero stars if I could. Had an appointment to have an oil change, tire rotation and inspection. Dropped off the car and came back at the appointed time.nothing had been done. They told me they could schedule another appointment. Why would I do that when I had one and you ignored it? Wouldn’t recommend to anyone for any service.

Pep Boys is unorganized, unknowlegable, mismanaged, unmanaged, and a revolving door of get them in get them out! Customers will be back with issues anyway! It's almost like they expect issues!

Dropped my car off at 7am this morning to get new tires. I chose the Shadyside location because I could walk from there to work. Just showed up at 4pm to pick up my car and it is not done yet. So I have to wait another half hour before my hour long drive home because they didn’t get to it. And I had put on my drop off that I would pick the car up at four. Terrible service. If I was going to wait I would’ve taken it to a shop closer to home.

Had a great experience with Herold! He was incredibly helpful in a time of great stress. He ensured that I left Pep Boys with a safe vehicle and at a great price. I always get nervous getting my car serviced because many salesmen can be pushy but that was not the case: thank you!

Absolutely furious with Pep Boys. In particular the guy working the counter at the service and repair station. I was absolutely lied to. Bottom line, I was charged 320 dollars for a 140 $ battery with installation. Before they could do the rest of the work I requested, I told them not to touch my car again, I took it somewhere else and didn’t need nearly the work done to my car that Pep Boys was claiming for inspection. Anyways, yeah that’s the last time I EVER give a dime to that organization.

A bit bureaucratic store. Don't know if it is because I looked like a stranger to them (not friendly to new customer). Would be fine if the staffs are knowledgeable (not really) about the products on their shelf. I had to spend an extra 15 minutes to read the labels to determine if the product fits my needs. Visit them because they are close to where I need to be. However, I would not visit them if I have a choice.

Was helped upon walking in, I didn't buy anything too intricate, wiper blades and an emergency roadside kit, but the gentleman showed me all of their items and then found the sizes I'd need for my wipers, all without me even asking. Good, friendly service overall.

Do NOT get your oil changed there! They overfilled my car by a quart.which then spilled out and caused 240 dollars worth of damage. (With no guarantee that parts won't need replaced down the line because of this). Not to mention, having to get my car towed, and finding transportation to and from work!

Wide assortment of parts. Very helpful counter person. I was looking for a replacement turn indicator bulb. The old one did not have any markings. The counter person was quickly able to find the right bulb, which actually worked. Kudos to Pep Boys for getting it right the first time.

Old men on staff who act as though they don't want to be there to assist customers. Trying to get battery out of car to recharge and did not help. I had a socket (took off pos and neg lines) set but did have a socket wrench to get larger carriage bolt out. Could not assist me any further for business. Would not recommend this company or location.

These guys are pretty good about questions and helping find stuff on the shelf. You might have to wait for one to become available. And he may be Griff and Curry with you. But that's no big deal

The service staff was friendly and quick. Despite being busy they took their time to explain everything I needed to know and make sure I understood what they would do. They also didn't try to sell me things I didn't need. Would go back.

I went for a slow leak, because I figured if I only need a plug, how bad could they possibly be? Long story short, they kept my car for 10 hours (estimated 2-3) and charged me $50 to do nothing. Took it to my regular shop (Joe DiIorio in Homestead) and they charged $40 to do what Pep Boys quoted me $150+ for.
