Perry-Juniata County Animal Rescue reviews
11Very rude. Was told dog was to energetic for toddler even we appreciate the concern we offered to set dog up with a personal trainer to work on that and are very familiar with energetic dogs. Told they would put application through and then when emailed back to see if we could schedule to meet dog, was told application didnt exist, then was told we were rejected. Very unfriendly and un organized.
Writing this review on behalf of my friend who called your shelter looking for assistance with her cat, but instead was shamed and judged. I've always known this friend to be an animal lover and the last thing she would ever do is to give her cat up, whom she has had for years. But due to her health and other circumstances which would leave her HOMELESS, she has been trying to rehome the cat with people she knows. Since there was little to no sure interest, the next best and responsible thing was to call the shelter. After being shamed, judged and generalized, my friend was too traumatized to even defend and explain herself. You've made an already sad and difficult situation even more traumatizing which had my friend in tears. Shame on you. Please train your staff to do be better.
This is also a fair warning to others who may want to contact this shelter to surrender a pet.
The lady my mother spoke to was extremely rude when my mother called about a dog that was available for adoption. My mother called to ask some more questions about the application process and the lady told her to shut her mouth and listen and then hung the phone up on her after she stopped talking. This is the reason so many people stay clear of shelters and it’s an absolute shame for all of the animals waiting for homes. I’m glad that some other people had good experiences but unfortunately my mom’s didn’t end like that. Professionalism is of utmost importance when running any kind of public service and someone must not have gotten the memo. If you’re looking for a new pet I would think twice and check out one of the many other shelters out there that know how to treat humans with respect.
Very rustic. We adopted a very sweet dog. Run by a VERY nice lady. Go see the adoptable dogs on their website.
Maybe brush up on your people skills and humanity skills because they are extremely lacking. It's appalling and digusting how you have the staff here handle things. If youre gonna have people managing a county animal shelter the first role of basic customer service is being a decent human being.
There's people that flat out leave their animals for dead and you want to belittle and berate someone for a situation you didnt even know or even care to have an understanding too. They called for help andwere dimissed like nothing. Thats so disheartening to hear ESPECIALLY from an animal shelter.
Hope you learn from your rude and insulting mistakes.
Called, left message multiple times and never a returned called. Very poor on the customer service side of the rescue!
Hello, I called for help with a terrible decision I'm having to make and the person who answered was beyond rude. So many animal advocates hate on the owners so badly it hurts the animals in the end.
Very rude lady. After 3days trying to contact for meeting up to adopt a dog. No call backs. Then on website gave 3 o'clock open. Answering machine said 4. Found this place gate closed. No phone service. Finally at 4 drive to area called about dog. Dog was spoken for. Nothing on website about dog being reviewed. Lady was very to rude. Place needs to have dog Warden visit.
I had a great experience adopting our puppy from here. They genuinely care about the animals.
Great experience getting our new little furry friend! Everyone we worked with was so nice and made the process super easy!
Got the sweetest bestest pooch ever from Them. They care about animals and they’ve helped a lot of them. Kindness in action.
