Pete's Famous Pizza reviews
16I have been keeping track of the items I have ordered and found that each and every time they have been consistently very good.
A fantastic, 5-star cheese pizza but the service was so good it could have been mediocre and still deserved a good rating.
Came for lunch the portions were large and absolutely delicious with fresh and delicious produce and all around great service.
Nice local find with a lot of charm! Conveniently located right by the Franklin Institute so a great place for lunch.
The food was tasty enough and the service friendly enough, but not exactly smooth. Seems like they have some kinks to work out in the kitchen. We had one item arrive way late, after everyone else had basically finished. It happens, but it's an operational aspect that needs attention. Detracts from the overall quality of the customer's experience. On a positive note: the Hawaiian pizza and the Old Bay fries were delicious.
Took the family here for lunch while visiting the Franklin Institute and it was a good call. The restaurant is only a short walk away. The food was great and portions are generous. The service was attentive and friendly. The indoor seating was spaced out well so that everyone was comfortable dining inside. We would definitely return again next time we are in the area.
Nice and clean place. Pizza is so good and friendly stuff. Next time in Philly for sure I'll visit this place.
I really wanted to love this cheesesteak. I got fried onions and mushrooms on my Cheesesteak. It was a good roll and the roll was toasted very nicely. The meat was good but it got over powered by the fried onions and mushrooms. This cheesesteak needed a better balance of components.
Fresh; hot, delicious! Prepared as ordered! Enough to share. Terrific delivery service too; right on time. Worth your investment… Every Time Excitement!
What a pleasant little gem of a place! Pete's pizza was a great stop after visiting the Franklin Institute with my family. The pizza had a light, fluffy crust and just the right amount of sauce and cheese. My son enjoyed his chicken fingers and fries, and the giant chocolate chunk cookies were AMAZING! The staff was also kind and helpful. Overall, it was a great stop, and I would definitely go back!
Best pizza I've had in Philly! Toppings are very fresh. Crust isn't too thick or too thin and perfectly crispy. Highly recommend!
One of the drivers while delivering my order informed me that they don't pay the delivery charge to drivers and it goes in their pocket. They sometime keep some part of tips as well.
Update after owners response: I was charged more than $1 for extended delivery. Why did you guys charge me $4 and you pay the driver $1? Why are you pocketing the remaining $3? All the delivery money should be given to the person who is delivering the food. Since you accepted in your response that you only pay $1 to delivery guy, I unfortunately wont be ordering again.
Stopped by randomly while visiting Philadelphia on a family vacation. We ordered pizza and wings. The pizza was great, the wings were ok.
The staff was nice and brought the food over but wasn’t especially attentive. After we got the food, no one came back to check on us (although other tables did get checked on.)
Here is why I’m rating 2 stars: When we went to pay, I noticed that I was charged $32 for 24 wings. I looked back at the menu and as I thought, it said $24.99. I asked about the discrepancy and was told that the prices increased. WHAT IN THE WORLD? It was a a $7 difference.
The waitress apologized and said the menus hadn’t been updated. She ultimately honored the menu price but again, WHAT IN THE WORLD?
What about all of the people who never check their receipts? That is so deceitful. Not to mention, the wings were ok at best. They weren’t great and they sure as hell weren’t worth $32 for 24 of them.
When we come back to Philly, HARD PASS on this place. If you do go, check your receipt before you pay.
UPDATE: To respond to the business’s response: Raising the prices is your business’s prerogative, but the right thing to do is to update the menus to reflect the new price. You can hand write the new price if need be.
They make my favorite pepperoni pizza in the city! Really all of their food is good. Their wings are great too!
Eloquently Speaking About Pete's Famous Pizza The Food Is Delicious! I ordered a turkey club and it was very fresh, the bacon and lettuce was crisp, the tomatoes were juicy and the turkey was very tender. It reminded me of old school turkey clubs when you used to sit at the counters hanging out with your friends after school. The hot wings were awesome with the blue cheese and the fries were perfectly cooked. I highly recommend, they are friendly and you get your money's worth! Enjoy! Tell them that Eloquently Speaking sent you!
