Pettecote Junction Campground reviews
17This is the cleanest campground I've ever stayed in with the nicest owners. It is located in between Pine Creek and the Pine Creek Rail Trail. They have bicycle, tube, and canoe or kayak rental and also offer a shuttle service. I will definitely be back!
Stayed in their Cozy Cabin for one night while on a bike trek along the Pine Creek Rail Trail. The cabin was indeed cozy and clean and stocked with the right kitchen gear to accommodate our party.
The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful (including the camp cat). And the night skies were beautiful. Overall, we had a very nice stay.
We (me and my husband, our dog, and our friends with 2 kids and a dog) stayed for 3 nights on two tent sites for Columbus Day weekend. The setting of this campground is absolutely gorgeous and we took advantage of the rail trail, town general store, and nearby hiking areas. The campground is immaculately maintained. I don't know if I will ever be satisfied by another campground's bathrooms again. It was a very short walk to the closest restroom: 1 men's and 1 women's. There was often a wait here, though, and I think it would be better to make both rooms unisex. A slightly longer walk led to the private shower rooms (2 unisex) and bathhouse (women's had several stalls, sinks, and showers). Didn't have any trouble finding these available. Besides some tent campers talking late into the night, the campground was very quiet once dark fell, and mornings were very easygoing. One small downside is that sites are quite close together, with little tree privacy. Lots of dogs, but we had our own, and we welcomed seeing others' pets. The office was adorable and staffed by friendly folks. The kids' play area and the public fire pit areas were a dream. Lovely flowerbeds and seasonal decorations. Would absolutely return. It's wonderful to see a place so well cared for.
We stayed here in the past and just loved the area and the campground. However, was very disappointed in the summer of 2021 with the lack of customer service and empathy. When we arrived there was no power due to a storm that had come through therefore, we only parked our camper and did not setup. Due to a medical emergency we had to pull out very early the next morning. We communicated this prior to leaving and they were not willing to refund any portion of our stay. Very disappointing!
Nice campground right on Pine Creek, and the Pine Creek bike trail. Shuttle service is available. Possibly the cleanest, best maintained bathrooms I've seen in a campground. If I had something negative it would be that the sites are close together, but I think that about most campgrounds.
We stay there a lot and this place is like a home away from home everyone who love the outdoors needs to go here. The owners are the best
This is a treasure along the trail. Stayed in a glamping pod during a rainy day. Heat and air. Pets allowed with a reasonable deposit. Cozy. Clean facilities available. Friendly owners and campers.
I stayed there years ago and loved it. A friend was staying there. So I stopped in to say hi and keep moving to where we were going to stay. But I was told there is a fee for visitors. I can understand that. But I told the rude lady in the box car, I was just going to say hi and move on. Nope. Wanted to charge us 10 dollars. Now I am not trying to be a cheap a$$. I just wanted to say hi. She told me that as soon I stepped onto the campground I was a libility. Well now that 10 bucks ain't going to help you much. So lady in the box car. If you're the owner WOW. If you're an employee and don't like your job quit. I thought about maybe staying there sometime because it's been many years. No way after meeting and talking with the Grinch in the box car.
So you are the owner. You see people want to be around people that are nice. You and the lady in the box car are not. Offended you say I was. Nope not at all. Your response just said everything. Have a wonderful day.
We love Petticote! They have the cleanest bathrooms and campsites! The staff is friendly and helpful. We’ve been coming for years and will continue to do so!
We are empty nesters with 2 small dogs. We were very pleased with this campground. We told the owner it was our first camp trip. She came around to our site to see if we were happy. We tent camped along the creek for 2 nights. We rode our bikes on the trail both days, towing our dogs in a trailer. Quiet hours were enforced. We felt very safe. Bathrooms were pristine. Suggestion to the owners, look into fencing off a dog play area for dogs to socialize & run.
Beautiful campground, the creek, the scenery, the vibe here. The bathrooms were clean and modern. The downside is you are really packed in and honestly I didn't even notice that as I was here midweek and it felt like the right amount of people around. The pay showers, pay internet, late fees for this and that are a big turn off. They are necessities today, just raise your rates and give me a free shower and internet. I hate the nick and diming. Overall very happy with my stay here even if I was a bit smelly by the time I went home.
Paradise found, especially if you enjoy cycling, fishing, kayaking, or simply soaking up the gifts of nature the area has to offer. We had a cycling group reunion from across the US using RV sites, tent camping, and glamping facilities. We all agreed it is hard to beat this family owned campground. Nice vibe, immaculate facilities, nicely landscaped, friendly and helpful owners and staff. What’s not to love? Already planning next year! At the way point of “Hall of Fame” rails to trails Pine Creek Trail immediately accessible from campground.
We stayed Sun - Thurs, found it very quiet and peaceful, spectacular location, friendly staff, wifi worked great for us although we did not try to stream anything. Very impressed with the campground.
I was looking to come here since I enjoy fly fishing and this would a great location. But I will not give this place a dime after reading the owners snotty responses to negative reviews. Sounds like a nasty old lady. I don’t know if it is (could be a 25 yr old guy for all I know) but sure comes across as it.
Can’t wait for the response to this. ️
We usually don't go to campgrounds as we like staying at State Parks. Petticote Junction is the exception. I don't want to submit a review on this place because I want to keep this treasure a secret. This is our favorite place to camp in our state. Every year we have a (pilgrimage) with 4 other friends and spend a week here riding, hiking, playing music and enjoying the outdoors. This place doesn't put up with any BS. Great campground. (don't tell anyone) lol
We just returned from a weekend at Pettecote Junction. Everything was top notch! We stayed in the new glamping pods. They were wonderful! The mattresses were so very comfortable. We slept like babies. Perfect setting along the Pine Creek. We will be back
My family has been visiting Pettecoate Junction Campground for over 30 years. We love the location on the creek, it’s just beautiful. Though some of the improvements are great with nicer restrooms and some glamping sites, some things are disappointing. The park caters to RV residents who act like they own the place. Loud, at all hours, constant lawn equipment noise or home improvement noises…. One hopes to escape that annoyance when camping, but it’s hard anymore at this little party zone. Glamping pod is nice. Expensive for the minor convenience of beds and and ac/ heater. I miss the quiet campground it used to be honestly.
