Philadelphia Hand To Shoulder Center reviews
18 It's crazy rude how the reception lady was over the phone!
I've couldn't understand that!
My visit with Dr Mark S Rekant was not helpful at any level,
i went for a pain finger but Dr Mark never could really give me a clear diagnose after the xray,
he was using unclear medical terms that a simple person will never understand and besides that he was doing it fast just like if he want's to done with me as soon as he could.just disappointed! I will never recommend this place!
I have been experiencing pain in my thumb/ wrist for over three months and maybe typing for work may have made things worse. I was diagnosed with thumb spica and the the Doctor gave me an injection and the therapist hand made me a small brace for my hand and I am happy to say my hand feels better than ever THANK YOU. GREAT TEAM!
The first time I met Dr. Wilson was 5 minutes before my surgery. I was very nervous and scared not knowing what the outcome of this surgery would be. As I was told there was a very good chance of me not only losing the tip of my index finger, but also my middle finger. When he came up to talk to me before the surgery I was put at ease. He just has this way of relaxing you and making you feel as comfortable as possible. On my way back home he called me to see how I was doing, I’ve had my fair share of doctor visits and never experienced anything like that. To me that shows he goes ABOVE and BEYOND for each patient. So if you didn’t choose him yet as your doctor I’ll continue. Every time I had a check up for my surgery (about 5-10) while he’s examining my fingers he just talks to you and really wants to know how you are doing not only with the injury, but your every day life. Lastly, I told him I was having some issues typing so he set me up to get a prosthetic.
Dr zelouf from hand to shoulder did a beautiful procedure on my hand, but if you are there from Workmans comp he will send you back to work even if you are not healed are in pain.
Well the receptionist are very courteous and knowledgeable the doctor I have was wonderful he explained what was wrong and how we go about repairing the problem that I have with my hand
My appointment was a 1 pm. I didn't get called in till 1: 55 pm. I was told it was bc there is only one doctor in the office today. If that was going to cause such a delay in appointments, I would have appreciated a phone call and the opportunity to reschedule.
The hand therapist at the center are excellent. I was referred by an outside provider. They picked up on the fact that something more was wrong then originally thought and got me in to see Doctor Sweet the next morning. She was attentive thorough and very helpful. I am scheduled for surgery. I couldn’t be happier with this excellent practice
Dr. McBeath is a brilliant surgeon. My husband described her work on my shattered arm as a feat of engineering. And the physical therapy staff in Limerick is excellent.
Total rip off and liar. I believe because I'm black and on Medicare they didn't want to help me.
I've had appointments here a few times. It's a nice space. The doctors, physical therapists, and assistants were very friendly. At times the wait can be long, but I understand why. I can't blame the doctors; they and their assistants are doing their best.
What I don't like are the patients and their immature complaints about having to wait. There are only 2 or so orthopedic doctors that work on a day from what I understand, so they need to shutup and act like adults instead of crying like children. Seriously.
Dr Tosti is awesome. I had a large pyogenic granuloma removed from my finger and covered with a graft from my palm. Very little pain after surgery (which one Aleve handled). Dr Tosti explains the procedure thoroughly. His Clinical Asst, Tori, is great. The most I waited was 10 min past my scheduled time. Most visits right on time or took me a little ahead of appt time. Highly recommend.
16 doctors. I scheduled an appointment for 1130 it's now 12: 21. Still waiting. What a joke. One doctor in the office why? Answer because it's not the Philadelphia location, so who cares. This is what happens when they build more building than they can staff. The patient has to wait an hour past there appointment time.
My 18 year old daughter was seen by Dr Rekant today. What a god complex. Gave 1 word answers to our questions and was put off by my daughters fear and reluctance to have the surgery on her hand. When my wife confronted him about his lack of compassion and shortness, he whined that "she was yelling at me" and threatened to tell the other doctors in his practice to not treat her either. Stay away from this doctor (and evidentally his group) if your looking for a sensitive and compassionate caring doctor to explain fully the different avenues that may be available for treatment.
When I could no longer work with my thumbs due to bone degenaration, I went to Dr. Culp at the Phila Hand Center.
Over the course of 2 years I had both thumb joints replaced with a synthetic piece of cartledge like material. He gave me my hands back! His knowledge, compassion and expertise far exceeded my expectations! Dr. Culp is the man to see when you have a hand problem!
When I went there I was told I needed a splint. I asked about the total price and they told me it was $40. I was shocked to see a much larger bill in my mailbox!
They later told me there was no way to know what the insurance would cover, but I was trying to find out the total cost so I could have all the info.
They give faulty information and then foot the customer with the bill.
I told them I couldn't afford their bill and wanted to return the splint but they said it was impossible.
I finally was told by the director that he understood my situation and would clear the balance.
I thought it was over.just a stressful learning experience.
Two years later I find out they have a balance on my account and I was refused service. When speaking with the billing department they were incredibly rude and questioned my ethics repeatedly. The woman I spoke with called me the kind of person who ". Wouldn't return money if I was given too much change at a gas station. " I told her that I had previously agreed to remove negative reviews to settle the situation. Since it apparently wasn't settled, I would have to re-post them. She accused me of blackmail.
I would recommend everyone avoiding this place. There are other talented doctors in the region who are happy to have the business and won't treat their customers this way.
Comfortable and spacious place with a very friendly staff. The physical therapists were efficient and really nice.
First issue is you will wait an hour to see the doctor. My next issue is I received a call the day before my follow up appointment saying we my initial doctor was suddenly maternity leave. Next doctor I was passed off to didn't seem to have a clue nor care. Avoid this place.
I hurt my hand playing hockey, they took one x-ray and had me back playing in under 4 weeks. There was hardly a wait, I was in and out in under 30 minutes.
