Philadelphia Museum of Art reviews
20 Spent the day exploring, and while we were not able to see everything we wanted to see because of the busy 4th of July holiday, we were able to take advantage of the "pay what you may" day and saw some national treasures for a discounted price. (We still paid, because we believe in supporting the arts!)
The fireworks were a beautiful ending to our holiday weekend. (Although they were pretty short)
Lovely place to visit and take the family to have a great time and some learning too, with all the historical landmarks that is.
LOVED IT! Except no where to eat after 5pm. Unless you had reservations, no food trucks, no soft pretzels, ONLY WAWA! TY WAWA
The museum was enjoyable and had many nice art pieces from across the centuries. Some of the more “modern art” pieces looked like something a 3 year old could have created, which confused me as to how it made it into such a prestigious art gallery. However, the Senga Nengudi: Topologies special exhibit hall took the cake and was the most bizarre thing I have ever seen. I am not sure how it is art, and couldn’t even make it through the exhibit without laughing. I am convinced at that point that I may be a new age Picasso and perhaps my wife can play with her panty hose and underwear, record it, and we can land an art exhibit out of it.
We enjoyed looking at so many different pieces. Lots of information and there are a lot of seats in case you get tired!
Great museum, very good exhibitions. However, parking on the site is a nightmare, be prepare to wait up to hour to leave a garage with hundreds of running cars around at 4pm, cars are stuck in the three level garage because of exit problems - not safe due to carbon monoxide poisoning risk. Very disappointing management.
So wonderful! It is enjoyable to travel through time with the exhibits! They also have interactive displays for children! I can't wait to return!
This is probably one of the best art museums in the country, probably the whole world. Of course this is also the building with the big steps that Rocky ran up in the first Rocky movie. Lots of great art. Classic art to Modern Art.
World class art museum. Highly underrated (Which is kind of a good thing!) so less crowds and more open galleries. I appreciate that the majority of Duchamp's work is contained here!
My Favorite Museum in the USA. You will geniually feel as if you are in a different country in each hall with the diversity of Stunning Art and History it has from all around the world. If your in Philly this is a Must!
I studied art history in school and saw a lot of musuems around the world. I can easily say this one is the best. Visit every other week if you live in Philly. Also go to see all the idiots run up those stairs
We loved our visit to the Philadelphia Museum Of Art. We can on a Wednesday so we were able to get in with just the change in our pockets. The art was beautiful and wonderfully arranged in engaging galleries. There were a few very knowledgeable security gaurds on duty that gave us some much needed background on the peices we we're viewing.
If you've never made it out back definitely venture Kensington Park. Very young hipster crowd these days looking for some beautiful pictures and general lounging in the sun.
Modest yet very rich museum. Definitely is worth visiting. Looking forward for extensions under construction.
A must stop. Apparently ROCKY was moved to the bottom right of the stairs. Still ran up the stairs though. Oh and museum is great too!
Took grandson to see Johnson exhibit and more. Just as good as usual. Eating in make shift cafeteria tasted fine. Eagerly waiting for return of a better option.
I went to the Eagles Parade and it was a great day and I will go back to the Art Museum with my family.
Stunning and about to get better upgrades are happening come see the most beautiful contraction zone I have ever seen, informative, mysterious, safe, and art inch by inch spanning halfway around backside by gazebo
Just outside of the Philadelphia museum of art, the area is known for the "Rocky" steps. Lots of people in front running up the stairs. The area is very beautiful and big. The museum itself was fantastic! It had so many different and unique things to look at, from early European art to mid century European art to medieval Armour and early colonial art. It's not just photos and paintings, plenty of actual physical objects. Takes about 6 hours if you go through detail by detail quickly. You can knock it out in 2 hours if you just walk by. $20 per adult.
Incredible day in front of the Art Museum steps enjoying the unbelievable Eagles Super Bowl Parade. Thanks to all involved to allow us to have the opportunity to experience this incredible moment in time. Words can't describe the atmosphere this day. Philadelphia fans are the most passionate in the world. I was there and the only police activity was to help one person out of there for a medical situation. The police were enjoying the moment as much as the rest of us and I noticed them smiling and laughing at times. Thank you law enforcement for your presence and understanding of this moment.
