Very enjoyable.
Loved the baby gorillas. Surprised at the number of animals we didn't see since the temps were above 45, but spring is a little hit and miss.
There was an interesting individual there during our time who walked up close to multiple families including ours while continuously and loudly speaking to himself-strange but harmless.

Way too expensive for the size of the zoo and variety of animals. $70 for one adult, one child, and parking! The taco salad I got was over priced and tasted bad. The portion size was good, but I still left hungry because I didn't finish it.

Perfect day trip for young kids. The zoo is just large enough to get through in a few hours and the animal enclosures are well thought out. Food options aren't the healthiest. If you visit twice a year, the annual family membership which covers parking pays for itself.

Always have a great time. Love the new penguin place and seeing the baby giraffe and watching the overhead tunnels. Sometimes I see monkeys. This time it was chattering Ringtail Lemurs. The big cats are awesome

Beautiful and enchanting place for children. I was able to see the tigers up close on the tiger walk. My 10 month old son was intrigued the entire trip.

Food, if you can call it that was awful. What ever company they contracted for foodservice does not care one bit about guest experience. The zoo wasn't even busy today and the 20 people working in the resturant by the lake had no clue what was going on. The pictures on the menu are a bad idea if your food isn't going to look like it. My burger was cold made from frozen meat and definitely not worth 10 dollars. My daughters chicken fingers were much smaller than the picture and both our waffle fries were soggy.

Food was way overpriced and disgusting.

Onto the eating area, everything was sticky and gross. What's going to happen when the zoo is busy? There was one person sweeping the floor, but no sign of a rag and sanitizer for the tables. CAN WE SAY OUTBREAK?

Pack a lunch and avoid this dirty, slow, expensive, inept, garbage at all costs!

The Philadelphia Zoo is a vibrant, exciting, fun and historical treasure located in West Philadelphia and Fairmount Park. The new 360 exibit allows big cats and primates to travel over guests heads as they move from okne side of the zoo to another. The Philadelphua Zoo also features Luis, a large Grey Back gorilla, who walks upright because he does not like to get his hands and food dirty.

The Philadelia Zoo is a great day activity for all ages and is a must see for anyone who lives and/or visits the Philadelphia area!

This place is so exciting. So many great animals to see. On a warm day its fun to see the otters splashing around and the polar bears swimming. The ape house is always fun with the lemurs and gorillas. So many learning places so you can learn about your favorite animals. Alot of workers if you need help. The Zoo Balloon was a fun ride you can see for miles when you are up there, such a cool sight. The big cats are great, the petting zoo, and the penguins are fun to watch. There are workers all over the place, I asked for help and they were very resourceful. Overall a fun great place.

Its a great place as long as your child has no speial needs. I will never return to this place my Autistic now 9yr old then 5yr old was physically and verbally attacked by both children and their parents and staff did nothing to help even after I had shouted for someone to please call security afterward I spoke to a assistant manager and told her that I would no longer feel comfortable coming and to please issue a refund on my membership she refused stating certain days and times that I should bring him because that would be better for someone like him I then called multiple times asked to speak to the manager or the owner and emailed and never got a response to this day I am afraid to take my child there. I am happy the others have fun and feel safe.but it's not a place we will ever go again you know one of the saddest part about that day was one of the so-called mothers who told her 12 yr old to shove my child then turned to me and told me that she worked with autistic and it was people like me that gave them a bad name.

We live in Ohio, so to say we understand when weather is cold is an understatement. However, even in Ohio the zoos offer an off-peak rate. I understand some animals will stay inside to keep warm, however there was no viewing indoors. Asking at the front, I was told a majority the food/souvenir/ shops do not open throughout the week- and some not at all until peak summer weather. We saw a total of 7 animals in 3 hours (not including barnyard animals which we can see everyday). Lemonade stand closed, face painting closed, no gorilla, no red panda, no giraffes, no rhino, no hippo, no otters, no tiger, no orangutans, no chimps. Aside from one hot dog stand and one pretzel place near the entrance, only ONE food area. Seating behind where you order only 15 small tables. Tiger food area has three restaurants, three different registers at which to place your order, but only one single door at one end so good luck waiting in line for food, hopefully it's the one you want. No help in or near restrooms, employee I asked was unsure where the closest restroom was and when we found it, it had no soap. We tried speaking with the supervisor on duty- I genuinely felt like she heard not one concern my husband and I raised. She was a smartass, which was the awful icing on the $90 for tickets cake.we have traveled to a dozen zoos and this is by far our worst experience. This is the first zoo built in the United States! It has so much potential and it was so disappointing and disheartening to see it falling so short of even a mediocre experience.

I don't think I've been to the zoo since I was a kid before this weekend, but a friend invited me to spend time with her and her friends and family for her birthday.
The exhibits have changed a lot since I was a kid, but each change is for the better as the animals have more places to roam with their 360 experience. Like the commercials encourage, it's important to look in all directions for the animals; tigers or small mammals might be crossing overhead! I was in awe of how much the big cat exhibit has changed and getting to see the animals so close up.
We traveled to some exhibits to see the zookeepers feed the animals and answer questions from attendees. The staff was very knowledgeable and engaging with the information they were presenting and had great enthusiasm and passion for what they do. I would love to go back again sometime soon.

This is the oldest zoo in the history of America.
Fun, fun, and fun!
It is a lovely place to spend a whole day JUST remember to pack the following:
1- enough water and drinks
2- lunch and snack
3- good camera to take memorable photos
4- If you have kids bring swim suits/towels so that they can play at the water fountains.
5- a picnic mat so that you can relax and enjoy watching the view.

It is good to bring a cooler with you if you have one or a wagon to put all of your stuff and drag it. If you don't have one you could rent it for 10$.

Also you MUST wear comfortable shoes as you will walk for LONG. During this time of the year, don't forget to apply enough sunblock with water resistant before you go especially for the kids.
