AMAZING late-night location. The ideal setting for reconnecting with old acquaintances and making new ones. PJ When I am in town, Ryan's is my go-to restaurant. It goes without saying that this location is essential.

I have been to this bar several times, and every single time I have left feeling disrespected and borderline threatened. The bigger, older bouncer with glasses has, on several occasions, screamed at me and allowed other patrons (I’m assuming his friends) to threaten me and call me names. Every single time it was because he yells at me to leave while still being in the bar during advertised hours and with the bartender’s permission. I’m talking, 30-40 minutes before closing time. As a bartender, I will never not respect the hours of any establishment and always am courteous of the posted times of operation as well as making sure I’m within the designated time frame of a last call. Because of this, I asked the bartender (Andy) what time last call was and I even how long I could stay if I ordered another drink. He assured me I still had plenty of time to have my last drink. However, the bouncer immediately started telling at me to leave after the bartender had just given me a new drink. I told him that I had asked the bartender if I was okay to have one last drink, which he ignored and the bartender claimed there was a “miscommunication”. Not sure how a designated closing time could be “miscommunicated”. I was literally threatened by a so called “manager” that he would handle me the “hard way” if I didn’t leave. How is this okay to say to a loyal patron? Let alone, allow his friends who were drunk at the bar to call me names and threaten me to the point where I felt so uncomfortable that I had to leave well before the designated closing time. Yet, somehow they weren’t asked to leave? If I could leave a zero star rating, I would. But Joey, the bartender is the only real star in this place. So, my one star is for him, and only him.

AWESOME late night spot. Perfect ambiance to connect with old friends and meet new ones. PJ Ryan's is my GO TO place when I am in town. It is a no brainer that this place is a MUST.

Very loud, so it's definitely a late-night hangout. Thoughtful bartenders make excellent drinks and always have at least one respectable craft beer on tap.

This is how PJ Ryan’s treats the community. Piles of puke and trash outside the bar on a nightly basis. Staff won’t even bother to clean it up. This place is an absolute disgrace.

All the bar top and bartenders in the basement were constantly “busy” and preoccupied with chatting with friends and running between different stations, 2$ water bottles instead of offering cups with ice for a 1$ (I understand it’s a hassle to get a water sometimes in a rush but the water bottle’s as defaults for 2$ are unnecessary in my personal opinion) and some okay music that didn’t seem too “mixed” by a hype DJ. Was very unimpressed for even a small cover to get in and experience the stickiest and soaked carpet leading out to a narrow (?) dance floor.
Good food and respectful and kind service from the employees, would maybe make this a late night stop at the end of bar hopping down the street and enjoy a dance off semi frequently
I’m sorry I wish I could say more positive features but having my shoes feeling almost soaked in soda on the bottoms before I even touched the dance floor was the HUGEST turn off immediately and it was hard to ignore to say the least

Definitely a late night spot - very loud. Bartenders are very good though and they make good drinks & will have at least one decent craft beer on tap

My sister and I are from Canada, our cousins wanted to show us their favourite spot in town on our last day visiting Pheonixville. We had such a lovely time in this beautiful town and were devastated that the bouncer refused our Canadian IDs and was shockingly rude to us compared to all the amazing people we had met here so far. What an unfortunate way to end our stay in this beautiful town, I really hope that there will be a way for us to sing our hearts out at karaoke night when we visit again next Christmas. Hopefully by that time they will have the code scanner fixed for Canadian IDs and have more understanding and courteous staff at the door.

Amazing bartenders.awful patrons and especially awful employees.specifically Tom (or tony) Ryan.who tried to use his last name to intimidate me out of complaining when money was stolen by a non-working game.he was very degrading and misogynistic.he would not let me speak for my own issues in the establishment to the point i had to walk out, as i felt so disrespected.multiple employees have flagged him as unable to do his job unbiasedly and respectfully.im a frequent here, as well, which made it even more alarming

I have been here before and loved it. Maybe it was the holiday weekend. As before the premises were clean, the service exceptionally friendly. Atmosphere welcoming and comfortable. The food took a severe dip in quality. We ordered platters maybe we should have stuck with sandwhiches but even the onion soup was not as good as I have had there before. Will return at some point because of past experiences, would not if this had been my first time.

Very disappointed that we weren't even acknowledged by the bartender even after waiting over 15 minutes to order food and drinks. There were only about 7 to 10 patrons in the pub at the bar since it was around 930pm. Also, there were no patrons at the tables. We even called prior to see how late the kitchen was open because we are not from the area. Never in all the Irish pubs I have been in have I ever felt so unwelcome. As we waited patiently at the bar as the bartender did her tasks, she completely ignored us. We just thought she was busy and when she was finished she would ask us what we would like to order. When she finally finished cleaning up a plate, she leaned back on the bar started socializing completely ignoring us. Not like she didn't see us. She walked pasted us about 6 times. Even the other patrons looked at us. So we didn't say a word and walked out. Guess you don't need the business? Good. Because one thing Irish girls do is we don't forget. Worst service ever!

I was assaulted and wound up in the hospital one night. I went a few nights later and got attacked, defended myself and was asked to leave. It's famous among locals with these kinds of stories, true or false. It's a spot filled with drama, young people, people looking for cheap drinks.

Very bad experience. Loud regulars hanging at the bar very rude. Known around Pheonixville as a place you don’t want to go

Unfriendly and unhelpful staff, food is not good. Pretty much every other place in town is better in every way possible.

Came here for dinner and a show. Nice Irish pub with good food and good drinks. Comedy show was in the basement and we had a great time.

Not a great experience. We sat at the bar since most of the empty tables had decorations, towels, stacks of menus, ect.on them. When the owners friends came, he took them to a back dining room. The soup below (potato and cabbage?) was burned. The female bartender was not pleasant and cut off people consistently and walked away. There were only ten other people in the place. The second star is for the prices, but I would have paid more for Quality.

Seems thoroughly irish focused, but was not unreasonable on st Patrick's day which to me was quite nice, only had the beer there and they have a decent selection mostly common or local brews but good beer
