We have enjoyed every second we spent while rafting. Staff is very supportive and clear. This was our first time experienced the rafting. You will definitely enjoy the rafting time. They are organized and not let you slip while on the water. Remember to carry good amount of food for the break time as nothing is available in the middle of the Jungle. Don't get scared if you are stuck on the stones, they have good rescue time at the middle and back of the group rafting along with you.

My friend and I did the big day out. Great, Great, time!
Staff was eager to answer questions and direct us to the proper line for gear. Well organized. Friendly fun atmosphere. Food was good. Not gourmet but good. Made a couple of new friends. A beer, food and bonfire to end the day. What’s not to love! Will be doing again. Added note: town of Jim Thorpe is awesome too!

This is a strange review because I have never Personally Used Pocono Whitewater but I Privately kayak the Lehigh several times during the season And always say hello to the guides and wave to the clients in the Rafts. I always see a lot of happy faces and the guides always appear to be having a great time and really seem all too eager to please and help out their clients. I think Pocono Whitewater does a great job getting people out into nature and out of their comfort zones doing something that they would not normally do Or have the equipment to do. As John Muir would say “we could make a day of any size regulate the rising and setting of our own sun and the brightness of the shining”. Keep up the good work Pocono Whitewater

It was a lot of fun, great for beginners and it makes for an amazing family activity. We did the family rafting and it was 4 hours of rafting with a lunch break in between where they provided hotdogs, PB and J sandwiches, potato salad, lemonade and water. It was a lot of fun. I would do it again!

Cool excursion. The first ever for myself and my wife rafting (and our 2 young kids) and we couldn’t have picked a better trip. We were actually running a few minutes late and one if staff actually called us and the guides waited for us. Take a bus to drop off spot in the middle of Jim Thorpe. The rafting was not difficult except for a few spots where there were bigger rocks. The guides were cool and were always near if you needed help or to direct you away from rocks. The trip was long about 3.5 hours (I believe about 8 miles) but hey you definitely get your money’s worth. There also a little campfire and good options at the site upon return (we didn’t pick the family option ride which offers a picnic halfway through ride). Well def be back!

It was a spontaneous plan for us to try water rafting for the first time. All the staff and guides were really amazing throughout! Would highly recommend.

Highly recommend The Expedition kayaking trip! Our guides were fantastic - super friendly and helpful. The trip was so much fun. I went by myself and was a little nervous not knowing what to expect (never kayaked on the river), but many others were solo as well. Group was about 16 people plus 3 guides. Good quality for the price.

Kayaking Expedition: Upon arrival you check in, fill out your waiver, get your life jacket, and your guide will ask what kind of sandwich you want - Lunch is included in this trip and was pretty decent! Ham/cheese, Turkey, PB&J, or veggie options. Mayo, mustard, lettuce, onion served on the side. They bring plenty of bottled water too. They give you your helmet, review safety information, and do a brief “how to” on kayaking techniques. Pay attention - all this is so important. Hugo is awesome, he’s so funny!
Hop on the bus for a 15 minute ride, then go on a 10 minute nature walk to the river. Kayaks are ready waiting (you just carry your paddle). If it’s your first time, don’t be nervous! It can be slightly challenging navigating around rocks at points, but is not scary at all if you’re used to being in water! We took lots of breaks, the guides help you get unstuck from rocks, and even got to swim a little at one point. The 4 hour trip went by fast! The main guide navigates the best path so just follow them. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was that many people didn’t follow the guidance of staying single file when heading into rapids, and then didn't follow the guidance of continuing paddling when heading into the rapids. This caused minor traffic jams, stucks on rocks, and was a little frustrating for those trying to paddle on through on the course. But I really still had so much fun!

WHAT TO BRING:
Waterproof pouch (got a Fanny pack style one on Amazon and it kept everything dry!), water shoes (also found on Amazon) or sandals with backs, water bottle, sunscreen, bathing suit or comfy clothes you can get wet, and a towel/change of clothes for after. Tip your guide at the end! They work hard in all kinds of conditions!
**They also have lockers you can rent for $5 if needed, and you can buy waterproof bags & water shoes in the gift shop.

PLUS there is a bonfire and bar to enjoy after the trip. All in all a great experience whether you’re alone or with friends. Shoutout to our three guides! They made the trip amazing.

Dam Release I would recommend. Class 3 rapids were thrilling. Awesome adventure. Paintball is my next target. Love you all.

Several things I don't quite like:
1.it is tiring to raft for 6 hours, you have to keep pedaling and steering the boat or otherwise the boat is stuck on rocks.
2.our tour guide solicited tips (or encourage tipping I guess) for 2 times.
3.on the bus returning, mask is required to board the bus, but no one is wearing the mask correctly, including the tour guide, I have very serious concern for the covid spreading.

If I could give more stars, I would! Shelley was our raft guide and he was amazing. For the entire 11 mile ride we didn’t stop laughing. I will be back and requesting him every single time! If you’re looking for a little extra thrill, ask for him!

We took two trips this summer, one with the family, and one with the damn release during hurricane season! Both were fun in their own ways. Great guides, kudos to Terry, Anna, Michelle, and Milkman (who wouldn’t reveal how he got his nickname). The guides were fun, professional, and well adversed on the river. This company has there stuff together. It’s a great facility and a good time.

The guides were absolutely amazing as well as the staff at the main area. Everything moved along smoothly. We chose the Dam release 12 mile rafting experience because it said no experience necessary. The mile walk from the bus to the dam carrying everything was a bit difficult and tiring. The rapids were beautiful but none of us had experience and it was quite difficult to navigate and extremely exhausting. We had 5 people in our raft (myself, my husband, and our 3 kids ages 20,17,13). I do not recommend the Dam release for beginners. Everything else was amazing!

Look, you're reading reviews to find out if this is a safe trip for your family, and if you're going to get ripped off.

We did family whitewater trip, two adults, 9 and 7 year old. We have never rafted before. Yes, you will have to paddle a lot to get down the river.

But this is a great trip. Its safe, and the guides will get you through it if you need help. Guides are clearly trained and knowledgeable about the river and in helping total novices enjoy the day. Expect kids to have a fun few hours (our day start to finish was about 5.5 hours) and make memories.

This is a professional, organized business that clearly takes safety and your experience seriously.

Absolutely a wonderful adventure to experience. Great for a team building excercise and a great work out. I would definitely fly from Florida for this again. Tour guides did an awesome job.

Pocono Whitewater Rafting was an awesome experience. Our tour guides were knowledgeable and fun (especially Joe). This is definitely a trip for all who want to have fun and see many great photo opportunities during the way. We had 6 adults and this was the most fun we all had in a long time and laughed the entire time down the River

The best first time rafting. So amazing cool
Experience to raft in Lehigh river. 12 miles is huge accomplishment. This is good for families, friends and love ones to experience outdoor activities. They have kayak, biking, hiking. Don’t forget to stretch yourself before going. My legs and back are sore. It’s best to get warm up first and last. The instructors are awesome people to guide. I’m definitely doing this again!

Great time on the River! Me and my five buddies had a blast hitting the rapids and having water fights. Shout out to Sandy and Sam two of our guides. They were very knowledgeable about the River and safety of everyone. Great personality’s also. We will be back next year!

We had the most amazing time today whitewater rafting with this incredible crew. The staff is patient and helpful. Be prepared this is a physical activity and it does require you to work together with your teammates so choose your captain wisely! We decided on the pirate family trip and it was tons of fun, we got to stop along the way and jump out the rafts and swim in the river, it was Beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks Moe, Shawn and Alex you all ROCK!
