Attended a meeting that was held here and I'm glad I did. The food and service was excellent, even for a large group. If it was closer to where I live I'd probably go here more often. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal. Prices are about average for a good restaurant these days.

Party of 5 on 10/11. The yellow fin tuna appetizer was over seasoned which destroyed the taste of the tuna. The New York strip with cheese topping was done perfectly as requested. The aged pork chop was a hit also was worried but took a chance and was worth it. The crab stuffed flounder and linguine with clams was also a positive. Kid’s chicken parm was perfect. Will go there when in are

We were in town from Rochester NY, and getting hungry for some dinner. We were not looking for a fancy place to eat, but happened to stumble on to the Powerhouse Eatery through maps. What a score! This place was spectacular- ok, it was an old power plant back in the day, saved from the ruins and brought back to life! There are these ridiculously huge heat exchanger coils hanging from the ceiling that were some of the original old powerhouse structures! They were massive and so impressive! The menu covers were like old machine manuals. Everything in this place was very cool and looked authentic. We loved the atmosphere! The wait staff was very good, and the food was amazing! We were BLOWN AWAY by how good the food was! The Lobster bisque was the best I've ever had, (and I've had it many times at many places!) Like I said, We were not expecting anything fancy, but we were super surprised and impressed when we found this place! Total unexpected score!

Great place to eat but make sure you have RESERVATIONS. Food was good, my filet mignon was burnt on the outside so I just cut that off but still tender and delicious

Food was great! Service was what I expected from a restaurant that has a good reputation. The atmosphere was tremendous. Will definitely go when I’m in the area

"Please bring our party of four an assortment of room-temperature food with a side of managerial hostility and don't skimp on the disappointment! "

I will explain. Sunday night of Labor Day weekend, reservation for four for 7: 15. We arrived on time and were greeted by very pleasant front of house. In the narrative that follows, we have nothing but praise for our waitperson TONI, who went above and beyond in adverse circumstances.

We ordered appetizers and drinks (my lemonade arrived in its plastic bottle, a classy touch I wish more restaurants would adopt). Bread arrived, then after an interval, two salads. The women of the party looked at the empty space where there might, in an expert restaurant, have been food.

An interval passed, and our truly apologetic waitperson arrived to explain that the kitchen was a man down, there were large parties, and things were backed up. We accepted her explanation politely and waited. I did tell her that my wife was hungry and unhappy, and asked if she could liberate a baked potato, which she did. At 8: 10 our entrees had not arrived and we called her over to say that we were distressed, and that we couldn't pack up and go to another restaurant. She looked genuinely unhappy (on our side, not the restaurant's) and checked with the kitchen to tell us that our orders were the very next.

A few minutes later, a man I presume was the manager arrived, in a white polo shirt decorated with what looked like Rorschach tests. If we expected him to be nice, to apologize to us, we were dismayed by the tenor of his response: somewhere in that middle ground between menace and suppressed anger. HE had heard that there were unhappy diners, and he wanted to know why. The unspoken assertion was that there was something wrong with us, and he actually said that he didn't think waiting an hour for a meal in a restaurant like this was anything out of the ordinary.

Had this been someplace more urban, I would have asked for the check and left. But the options available us were few if any, so we waited. Our sullen manager in the ink-blot shirt comped the one member of our party a glass of house Cabernet, almost forcing it on him.

Eventually the entrees arrived: the women of the party said there's were OK, unexceptional. My friend's duck was overcooked, his side dishes overseasoned. My beautiful steak (requested rare) was overdone and everything on the plate was tepid.

Toni, our waitperson, was genuine in her apologies. We never saw the manager again. It was, in its own way, quite a relief. He might write to respond to this to say how unreasonable some diners are, but if you check my other Yelp reviews, you will see I rarely write to complain.

It would have been annoying to wait for food, to find the results poorly done. But add in the spice of condescension and anger - imagine our feelings.

If you read this, I suppose there's no way to circumvent such an experience. Perhaps being one short in the kitchen is rare. But the manager's behavior was, to us, inexcusable. I am sure there are other restaurants in this area. Eater beware.

My friends and I had discussed that many would probably see this as upscale and high class eating because of it's location. But coming from a place that restaurants are everywhere, the quality is more competitive. The quality at Powerhouse was way too expensive and not entirely great. I'm from Jersey and compared to even some of our non high class restaurants, they would blow Powerhouse out of the water. Both a friend of mine and I ordered the chicken Parm and both came out dry. The lobster bisque was an interesting take but too salty. The other members of my party ordered some of their top priced dishes and we all left feeling very underwhelmed and like we wasted our money.

I had the pleasure of experiencing the unique and enchanting atmosphere of Powerhouse Eatery, and it was truly a remarkable dining experience. Housed within an abandoned power station, the restaurant seamlessly marries history and culinary excellence. The original brickwork, valves, and boilers provide an extraordinary backdrop for a menu that showcases both classic and contemporary American cuisine.

My wife and I stumbled upon Powerhouse Eatery while searching for a venue for our wedding reception, and what a fortunate discovery it turned out to be! Jesse Shaffer, the Director of Operations at Scalleat Hospitality and General Manager of Powerhouse Eatery, along with his exceptional staff, was an absolute delight to work with. They went above and beyond to make our special day truly unforgettable.

What truly impressed us was the comprehensive in-house service they provided. From a cake designed and baked on-site to a sumptuous three-course meal with five different main course options, every detail was handled with the utmost care. And the result? Pure culinary magic that left us and our guests in awe. Even a month later, people were still raving about the delectable and satisfying food that was served.

Speaking of the cake, the description we provided was brought to life with finesse. A vanilla cake adorned with delightful berries and a simple yet elegant white decoration exceeded our expectations, thanks to the incredible skills of the pastry chef.

The ambience of the restaurant added another layer of perfection to the entire experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Powerhouse Eatery for any occasion you hold. Jesse and his team are consummate professionals who ensure that you're not just dining but embarking on a gastronomic journey like no other. Don't miss the chance to let Powerhouse Eatery create memories that will last a lifetime.

Hands down one of the nicest restaurants near the Mount Pocono area. Living around here full time, we have tried almost every option but we always forgot to try Powerhouse Eatery. That all changed last night and WOW were we impressed. It’s a “casual” fine dining but held to the highest standards. Their service was impeccable, the food was OUTSTANDING, the flavors were amazing, they had a tremendous amount of items on the menu, and great drinks. It was my husband birthday and they gave us two desserts on the house which was extremely appreciated. I highly recommend this place for a nice, more relaxed but fancy environment.

Mediocre

Tried it again after a one year hiatus and it has actually gotten worse. Our waitress Megan had an attitude and did a lot of "huffing & puffing" like a petulant teen. Our blonde server who brought the food was no better and practically tossed the plates at you.
The Watermelon salad was tasteless and nothing like it used to be
The dinners were just certainly edible but not very good and the vegatable of the day green beans were dried out, old in appearance, leathery to chew and tasteless.
This place used to be a fine dining experience, but now I'd be hard pressed to call it a fair dining experience.

Was a disappointing trip after hearing all the good reviews of this place. Many of our meals were overcooked which is better then undercooked I guess. I ordered the petite filet mignon and the outside was burnt on one end. My fiance ordered a medium rare strip steak and it was well done. Just not worth the price tag here.

A truly special restaurant here with a wide variety of options from classics to inventive dishes. I’ve been more times than I can count and it’s always such an awesome experience, the food is seriously just amazing. Oh, and the cocktails-best in the area by far! The staff are always friendly and helpful, too. 10/10!
