Primanti Bros. Restaurant and Bar Altoona reviews
15The bar area is huge. No problem getting a seat even during the Steeler game. They did struggle to get the game audio on and they were out weird stuff like shredded cheddar cheese.guess nobody realized Sam's Club is next door? Anyway, service was good.
Bread was cold which made the fillings cooler.
Fries were cold.
Wings were awesome.
Tiny little mouse roaming around
Always good food! But I was not happy with these dried up boneless wings. I thought it was chocolate bites at first.
Absolutely great food. Came out really quick. Waitress was very nice and personable. Clean bathrooms. Be prepared to eat as the meals are big.
Ordered the Pizza that was BOGO with code with pickup. Was really good and as soon as pulled in she came out with pizza.
I was in the area and stopped in for lunch. I definitely be going back to try other things off the menu
I’ve been to many different Primanti Bros.and always enjoyed the food but this one was by far the worst I’ve ever been to. Everything we ordered was cold. My friend had to ask for hot fresh french fries 3 times before he finally got them and my fries, sandwich and boneless wings were ice cold. The server though was attentive and friendly and I feel that’s what salvaged a extra star from giving this place only one star. I don’t think I’ll come here again.
Our server was excellent and patient as we waited for someone to arrive. Drink refills before we asked and great communication as we waited for our food. It's a sports bar and there was a big game on the TV's, so it was loud and rowdy. Keep that in mind when you go. Generous portions and great tasting food.
My first visit to Primanti Bros was with my best friend. Never attempted to go here b/c it always looks so busy or packed. She talked me into trying it. I wish I never did that now b/c I absolutely LOVED it! Can't wait to go back w my husband! *Edit* Went with my husband the other night for Veteran's Day meal. (Forgot to mention he was a Veteran, bit no bid deal.) He loved it too! He had the cheesesteak bomb with fries. I told him that I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite place to eat! Lol! I'm a huge fan of the Barq's Red Creme Soda as well!
Waitress was very attentive. Asked the greeter to sit more inside than outside since we thought it would rain. There's some nice outdoor seating along the one side. It was happy hour from 5 to 7 weekday for most drinks being half price - excluding slushies, red bull, and sometime else that I don't remember but it didn't impact our order decisions. Got the big and delicious Duck, Duck, Juice in a fishbowl glass with a souvenir rubber duck! So cute. Had raspberry and banana and rum. Tasty! It was only $4.25 and a bottle of Yuengling was only $2. They have lots on tap that you can see but don't have drink menu available. The table we sat at was a bit tight. I would wonder how some bigger guests would feel. There are tables that have tall and low seats that would be more accommodating for them. Food was good. Fresh. Didn't seem to take long to fill order even with a fair crowd during supper time on Thursday. Signs on door say they are short-staffed like everywhere right now, but service was good. Overall = good experience. Lots of TV screens to see with sports on. Even got to bring home some leftover cheese steak. It was easily customizable. Got it without peppers and onions and no tomatoes but did get lettuce and mayo. Got the Original sandwich which has pastrami with cheese, tomato, french fries, and coleslaw. Not customized. Also got mozzarella cheese wedges as an appetizer since they were out of the pretzels sadly. They were hot and came with yummy marinara. Would recommend going here. Get the happy hour drinks for half price.
Always a good time when my husband and I go. Drinks are great, food is great and service is great. Just went today and wanted to share.
They have the most amazing food I've ever tasted in my life. Service is amazing as well, definitely a great place to stop and grab a bite to eat.
Primanti Bros.is one of my favorite restaurants and I always make it a point to find one when I'm in PA visiting with family. Great food and great service. I certainly wish VA had them.
Rylie is a shining star in that place! She is personable and bright and super friendly. The food was really good and the MOD was nice and handled my issue efficiently and satisfactorily. We will return!
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and service. It was 1st visit and the food and atmosphere were awesome! Our server, Kelsey, was extremely kind and helpful. She recommended some choices and was on the ball the entire time we were there. Will definitely be back.
