Primanti Bros. Restaurant and Bar Market Square reviews
18As we were visiting from out of town we wanted to try the local food. We tried a few of their sandwiches. They weren’t as impressive as we were told. Taste key in foods we like so when we tried the sandwiches they were bland. Not much flavor. Service was great though.
Heavily rated and well known locally (and by those with an appreciation of Pittsburgh/Yinzer culture) … my first time visiting today. Had a pastrami and cheese sandwich and it was simply superb! Probably the best sandwich I have ever had. 5 stars isn’t enough!
Well after seeing this on t.v. Many times I finally made it out to the burgh…I had the Prastrami and cheese and it makes sense with the fries inside the sandwich…. If your passing and or staying in Pittsburgh I highly suggest you make a pit stop….
It’s a must! …friendly counter service and free entertainment from the griddle master!
As visitors from out of town wanted to check out Pittsburgh's famous Primanti Bros. We were in a large group and got seated quickly though the food took a long time. The service was friendly and our order was delivered as requested. I got the Pitts-burger, 2nd most ordered item (1st= beer). It was more of a meatloaf patty than a burger. It came stacked with cheese, fries, coleslaw on thick slices of Italian white bread (not a roll). It was an interesting contrast of flavors, temperatures (hot fries/meat patty, cold slaw), and textures. It was huge! The size of two burgers side by side. The overall flavor was good - definitely worth the try when in Pittsburgh. I also got a pickle - $1 for four spears. The total meal cost me less than $10, plus tip. It was a ton of food for a great price.
Fantastic sandwiches in a great location. Would highly recommend getting the pastrami original.
Service started okay… server took our drink order. We requested 2 beers and 2 waters. We received the beer but no water. That’s not the worst of it. Server came around for our food order. We ordered an app and our entrees. We waited over an hour before we were served with our food order… granted they were busy (couple hours after Steelers game), but once we noticed groups seated after us were being served their food we spoke up. The server had to ask for our order again (said “sometimes the order slip gets lost behind the counter”) and said “oh I see it ready” (was on counter ready to be served for who knows how long) but went behind the counter and dropped our app into the fryer (obviously forgotten about). Our food came out cold (because it was done but never served). I’ve been to many other Primanti Brothers but never received service this bad. We noticed other tables receive the same terrible service by this server. We’re not stupid guests… If you want to be forgotten about I would recommend this location.
I wouldn't know how the food is! To be fair, they were super busy on Light-Up Night (Sat, 11/20). Waited in line to put my name on the list, then waited for a table, then sat for an hour after placing our order, but never did get served! The to-go business seems to take precedence over in-person table service.
I remember eating at Primanti Brothers about 10 years ago. It was not very good but something you had to do. This time I was shocked at how good it was. They have changed for the better. Go back if you haven't been in awhile. 45 minute wait was worth it.
Came here to pick up food because I was told this was a classic restaurant in Pittsburgh. They said it would be ready at 10: 15pm but it was ready for pickup at 11: 20pm. We waited over an hour in the cold and kept getting told our food was almost ready. The staff, host and take out crew was very friendly but the amount of time we had to wait was unacceptable.
After waiting over an hour for our food we received it and took it back to our hotel. Once we got back we opened it up and the got two of our orders wrong. The order was entirely wrong and I feel robbed of time. I would NOT recommend going to this restaurant given the experience I had tonight.
Great service, amazing food! The first sandwich is my favorite! Don't forget the pickle
Not a fan of the sandwiches.they're just not my thing. It was bland/dry to me. Too much coleslaw and fries, couldn't really taste the meat at that point. I wish there was some kind of sauce on it and it was grilled or pressed like a panini.
The person I was with enjoyed it much more than me so it's not the food, it's just my preferences. The fresh bread is amazing though! The atmosphere inside is neat too. It's definitely a stop to make while in the city, but I don't get the hype.
Traditional restaurant to Pittsburgh area so had to eat at one. We were there during the midweek lunch rush so service was slow. But good food.
So against my better judgment I went to this location again. The service was horrible as usual. The servers were rude and we had to ask to order food. The grill was horribly dirty and nobody seems to care. This place does amazing business because of location but I really think some changes need to be made.
We stopped by this place before we head out of Pittsburgh as it’s an iconic place to have the best sandwich and fried pickles! Loved it! So glad we made this stop! A must try for everyone
Honestly, this place was not that great. I was expecting better from a place so highly rated. The bread was plain and stale, and the sandwich (Pittsburgher) was rather flavorless. It was more or less unseasoned ground beef with some non-descript turkey and way too much slaw. The cheese fries were also pretty brutal since they use cheez wiz. Only thing really going for this place is the friendly and hard-working staff.
Love, love, love it! First time
in beautiful Pittsburgh and had to have a Pittsburgher at Primanti’s. Have always heard about it and loved it!
Came here two days ago because it supposed to be a famous sandwich spot in Pittsburgh PA. I put my name down for a 30-40 minute wait. We waited 2 hours which was ridiculous. I was so hungry we ordered our food as soon as we sat down seeing we had 2 hours to decide, we didn't want to leave because we waited so long already. The food was good and the staff was nice but we waited another hour for our food. I was disappointed it took away from our whole afternoon in pittsburg. I don't know if I would ever go back after that LOnG ridiculous wait.
Delicious.but completely unhealthy which is what makes it the perfect place to go for lunch! Loved every bite!
