Prince Street Cafe, York

Very spacious cafe in a convenient location. The food is on the pricier side, but it's really good! And the coffee is too. There are a lot of vegetarian and even some vegan options. The staff is super friendly too. I'll be back!

Went there when they were busy. Took me 25 minutes to get a lattee. Baked goods were not that great and cost more than what they were worth.

Coffee was good. The dulce cold brew was delicious. The rice bowls are absolutely nasty. Dry chicken, tasted gamy and don't recommend. Overpriced for sure.

Amazing quiche & salad with excellent salad dressing. Awesome soups. Highly recommend. Staff very friendly.

BEEN HERE A MILLION TIMES SINCE THEY OPENED ITS FANCY HIGH CIELINGS AND OVERALL LOOK MAKES IT A COMFORTABLE EATING EXPERIENCE GREAT STAFF EVEN THOUGH PEOPLE DONT LAST LONG WORKING HERE (FACES CHANGE FREQUENTLY) PRICES VARY DEPENDING ON WHAT IT IS YOU ORDER THEY HAVE A SNACK SECTION AND FOOD COMES OUT FAST THERES NO LIQUOR AT ALL JUST HIGH QUALITY FOOD OUTSIDE TABLES VERY CLEAN BATHROOM AND PLUG OUTLETS FOR PHONE CHARGING ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE HERE IS THE FOOD PORTION IS A LITTLE BIT YOU WONT GET FULL HERE AND THE MENU DOESENT HAVE MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM ALWAYS THE SAME ITS A GREAT PLACE TO GET AWAY FROM THE WORLD A BIT SEATING IS SPREAD OUT SO YOU NOT CRAMED IN OR TOO CLOSE TO OTHER CUSTOMERS IT STILL IS ONE OF THE BEST PLACES TO VISIT WHEN YOU IN DOWNTOWN YORK IF THEY SERVED DRINKS THEY WOULD BE 1# IN YORK CITY.

The sweetest staff! We were from out of town & everyone was so welcoming! If you’re in the area definitely stop in. You will not be disappointed?

Giving five stars because I enjoy this place and want to support small local businesses, but I had the weirdest experience here today that I feel management should hear so that it doesn’t happen to a grumpier patron who would leave a bad review. Came in around 11am for a small, to-go hot chocolate. There was no line in front or behind me at the counter. The cafe was, however, pretty full. Nothing out of the ordinary of what I’d expect from a bustling down town coffee shop, though. (I was a barista for five years in a major city.) After I ordered, the cashier looked at an order screen and apologetically told me my beverage would be a 25 minute wait. I was baffled to say the least, but feeling bad for the messenger, said “No thanks, ” and left. Now, I know for a fact/personal experience that this is not a normal way of handling a busy morning in a cafe. You simply cannot ask someone coming in for a to-go beverage, with no line in sight, to wait that long. Whatever you do, this should be fixed because it’s unreasonable and something that just doesn’t happen anywhere else, unless there is a line out the door and a drive through wrapped around the building. It seemed like there was a strategy of finishing every order to completion before even starting another, with no staggering between small, simple/to-go drinks and bigger, sit down food orders. Some effective order prepping/organizing strategies and better assistance/cooperation between positions during peak times would help this. It was truly bizarre, and I left wondering how the place stays in business.

What it's good for:

A leisurely visit for a cup of coffee, or small meeting between friends or colleagues. Vegan/Vegetarian friendly options.

Not so good for: quick or fast service; if you're on the go, it's better to try this place when you have some time.

Menu items consistently track higher and higher in price, and hours are not always consistently kept.

Overall a pleasant addition to the square, all things considered. Beautiful location and atmosphere.

Atmosphere can't be beat. Service was friendly and fast. Food was excellent. Cappuccinos were pretty but didn't taste phenomenal and my main complaint is that they were lukewarm. I would go again.

This place is so cute with food that will blow your mind. Definitely a place for Sunday brunch with friends, or a date with yourself. The food and drinks were amazing but the desserts were out of this world. 10/10

I'm in York maybe twice a year. But if I'm there and it's before noon I'm stopping in here. Modern, cool, smiles at the counter - plus the outdoor space. No complaints.

Great coffee, great food, friendly service, and a lovely atmosphere! This is a weekly visit for us.

While I was paying for the food the food that we ordered, my husband went to sit down at a small table out of the way to wait for me because we are tired from a wedding last night. A woman, who I assumed to be a manager went over to him and asked him if he was ordering food because she “needed her tables free” and he responded yes he was waiting on food. To preface, my husband is black and I am not. There was a young black woman in front of me. She ordered food and walked outside with it. When she left, the manager went BACK to my husband and proceeded to tell him that she believed his “date left already” and as I was walking to the table I heard my husband say “I think I’d know if she left” to which the woman looked up at me, with an embarrassed look. Reallllly came off slightly racist and quite rude. None of the other people looked to be being questioned. Interesting.

Nice atmosphere and courteous employees. Their iced Chai latte was good. Bring a laptop and sit down for awhile. Free wifi.

We ordered 4 different options. All tasteless no fresh or tasty food. They did have a gluten free item my DIL enjoyed. They may bake in house. The meat and cheese are not good.
The expresso was good.

The iced Caramel latte was delicious.
Enjoyed the rice bowl with is chicken, cheese, salsa, rice, avocado. This was so good. Came with a spicy ranch sauce.
The restaurant was busy and at time don't offer much seating for the capacity of people.but the vibe was everything.
Plus they had copies of the New York Times to read. Big win for me since I don't have to purchase it today. The beautiful young lady at the counter was such a pleasure.

I had the falafel and was kinda scared because I’ve never tried it but it was good. The poptarts are really good to minus the little seeds from the puree inside but that wasn’t a big thing. The muffin was good as well. Loved the environment, definitely left a good first impression.
