Progressive Insurance reviews
12Ive been with progressive for 7 years, and my first time having to deal with their claims department ever was so horrifically bad, that it was enough for me to now look to leave them after 7 years with them. For something that should have been resolved in 1 week they caused it to take 3 weeks due to their negligence. After 57 calls to their claims department with zero pick ups or answers, the only way to contact claims was to call a seperate department and have them force me through. This caused me to have to extend my rental to almost 3 weeks now costing me $1000 out of my own pocket. My advice, leave progressive and or go with a different company.
Switched cars to an suv, old insurance company quoted me 180 a month with no extras (absolutly ridiculous), called progressive.they got me down to 130 with renters, rental car, gap insurance, and a few other things.same day activated, great customer service, very friendly.
Progressive drug their feet for 5 months on a claim I had. I called, messaged thru the app, and emailed several reps and supervisors with no results. On the 4th month I hit a deer. The damage was bad. I immediately notified progressive and told them I felt my car was unsafe to drive and I needed them to assess the damage asap. They ignored me for a month and a half. I sent countless emails, messages and phone messages. No results until I went into the office. Finally they did something and a garage deemed my vehicle a total loss. A vehicle that progressive allowed me to drive due to their negligence and lack of customer service. At one point, the agent handling my claim suggested I call around to garages myself.
Just here to say that I recently established an auto insurance policy with Progressive this month and I am quickly coming to regret the decision. I have 3 close friends and/or family members that also shared they didn’t have a good experience but I like to make my own judgment. I’ve made multiple calls, I’d say at least 10 in the last couple of weeks and of the 10 I can only say I walked away once feeling confident I was being helped. My policy premium increased significantly after signing and agreeing to a different rate, I had to request a report of my driving record due to an inaccurate claim they received from reporting agency Progressive uses. Despite the fact I’ve shown what’s being reported things are still delayed and additional documentation required, I also was sure to ask is this all that’s needed when submitting requested documents. Currently looking elsewhere as we speak, I’d hoped this would of been a better experience as a new customer, it isn’t and definitely don’t see myself ever recommending.
Was hit by a truck injured my back totalled my vehicle. Offered zero assistance. Had to pay thousands to get back on the road. No help with injuries. A while ago someone parked to close behind me and iam sure I was scammed! No help YOUR SUED PA
After 2 months they doubled my bill and when I tried to fix all the nonsense I was told there was no way to do it online at all so I sent it in the mail, then I call a week later to see if it’s fixed and they still didn’t get the mail and the second person is telling me I could’ve submitted it via email but now I don’t have the papers thanks to the lady who told me the only way to do it was via mail. Definitely feel like they’re trying to scam you into ways to raise your bill.
Was a customer for over 18yrs recently purchase a new vehicle. And was advise that it would going to raise my rate to $900 every 6month for a total of $1800 per yr. I spoke to several representative and explain that i just had a new suv added last year and the rate only went up a couple dollars. So was confuse why a Nissan Altima with all the security features would practical double my rate and also being over 50 years of age and no accidents. No one that I spoke to could grasp my frustrations of the whole thing. No loyalty at all for long time customers. I finally reach out to State Farm and ran the same policy that I had with progressive and the rate was way lower and cheaper then my previous policy that I was paying before this new purchase. So I cancel my policy before my renewal date. I got the policy in the mail and when I look it over it showed that they had me down instead of just driving personal that it had share ride also added to the policy like I was doing Uber. So hopefully progressive learns to appreciate there long time loyalty customer before they jump ship and go where another company will.
Kelly Carr is exceptional at what she does she keeps her word and handle things in a great timely manner! I was so skeptical after reading the reviews but everyone case is different
Thank u Kelly so much
Got rear ended had to do all the work for them do not call only text. They wanted my husband who is in his seventies to climb under car to take pictures and also a video what are we paying them for? Had to do all the work for the representative to get police report its over two weeks now and still not settled suppose to take car to someone they said to take it to we did get an estimate on our own they would not accept that we are dropping them when this is over as you read these reviews they are true facts so heed the warning buyer BEWARE i am happy for those who got satisfactory results but it is not the norm
For years and years and years we have had progressive. Wrecked my car a few weeks ago. What in the world do we pay all that money for? Poor communication. I was told my car was going to a body shop. Here I am 3 WEEKS LATER, and told the car is totaled and basically good luck. My husband called the adjuster numerous times with no answer or call back. I sent photos, called in the claim. EVERYTHING that I was supposed to. Now here I am still almost a month later with not a clue what will happen and probably without a car. When this is done and settled I will certainly not be staying with progressive!
I had a fender bender about 3 weeks ago now. I filled out the claim online and was assigned a rep. They called and texted. I asked them not to text since I drive tractor trailer all day and can't stand texts at work plus that's unprofessional in my opinion. I also gave them my work hours. Advised emailing would be the best way. I've called back multiple times when I've had a few minutes at work and emailed three times now and finally got a response that my claim was given to someone else. Same story with this person. Days go by without any response. No calls being returned. I finally get an email to answer all these detailed questions about the incident again and told them I already answered them in the online claim. This is ridiculous, this could have been handled by a simple 15 minute call back but it's still dragging on after 3 weeks. I'm canceling after this claim is finished. It's not worth saving yourself like $20 a year. They have the money, just hire local agents to handle these things instead of piling them all on someone in some other state.
Progressive representative hung up on me after I cancelled my policy this morning. My policy with Progressive only included car insurance and it was roughly $30 more expensive than my policy with State Farm that includes renters and car insurance. State Farm also includes roadside assistance with their car insurance policy, where Progressive wanted to charge me an additional fee on top of the car insurance policy I had.
