Proper Brick Oven & Tap Room reviews
16Amazing pizza! The carnivore was awesome. Plus the smoky flavor made it even better! A terrific place. Worth the 20 minute wait
It's a bit pricey, but the pizza is delicious! Wasn't crazy about the Mac n brisket. The service was great!
GREAT pizza and all homemade pastas and sauces and desserts. You won't be disappointed
The pizza was fantastic even though it was supposed to have olives and didn't. We didn't get a good feel for the atmosphere because we were seated just inside the door with a divider blocking our view into the restaurant. Our waitress was very patient with a customer who was unpleasant and borderline rude. Kudos to the waitress!
Start to finish, it was great! I highly recommend you come! The atmosphere is awesome, the staff is friendly, and the food is top-notch!
Hands down the best pizza in Pittsburgh. Been visiting the city for years now and there's plenty of pizza spots in the area but this one blows the competition away. Well worth the wait (if you have one), our waitress was very attentive and the restaurant is small but homey. Despite the size we didn't have to shout to hear each other.
Some of the best crust I’ve ever had. We preferred the Brussels sprouts starter and the carnivore pizza. Perfection! Will be back
The food was good but the all of the staff were exceptional. The pizza maker gave my son a ball of dough and let him pretend to make pizza…he loved it. They were awesome.
We arrived and were "greeted" if that's what you call it, by an older man in a suit. My initial feeling was that he was not very welcoming. Then we were seated and given glasses of water, one of which had a huge piece of onion in the bottom, and another had a bug in it. We ultimately decided not to stay to see what else would go wrong. When that older man, who I think may have been in charge, saw us leaving he asked if we had changed our minds. My husband informed him of what occurred, and he responded, "Oh, that's ok. Have a good night. " Our waitress seemed annoyed when we told her. Only one employee in the whole place said I'm sorry as she heard the older man blow off our concerns on our way out. Disgusting- both the glasses of water and the service. If I could leave zero stars, I would.
Randomly stopped and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is exposed brick with romantic lighting. The pizza was delicious with the basil added after rather than cooked to a crisp. The manager Scott introduced himself and made it feel like we've been coming for years. Only down fall.my cosmopolitan was very watered down with more cranberry juice. Bartender was very kind. Please bring back real menus add Corona in your beer line up too. Can't wait to come back.
Proper Brick House nails it with their fantastic atmosphere and superb draft beer selection.
Calling that a carbonara is a bit of a sin - it was basically an Alfredo with pancetta, which I get some people are drawn to, but it’s simply not a carbonara. The pizza was also meh, again a misuse of words as it just wasn’t a traditional brick oven pizza with its fairly dense dough. Biggest gripe was that our Calabrian pizza was drenched in honey.
That said, service was fantastic! Nice atmosphere and great drink menu.
The candied bacon was delicious! I could eat that every day! Was the highlight of my mother's day! The Carbonara was exquisite to and the noodles were perfectly cooked!
If you are going to a pens game, show up at or before 5pm to be seated instantly. We arrived on a Tuesday at 5: 15ish for dinner before a pens game and we were seated instantly at the bar. Service was great, 10/10! Only problem is the 15m walk from the venue (but it's totally worth it!)
Great place, great food, can be casual or formal. Close by a parking lot and a 1/2 block from the Benedum.
Brisket mac n cheese was delicious. Nick of Thyme cocktail was lovely as well. Highly recommend.
