Puyero Venezuelan Flavor reviews
26Pretty good Venezuelan spot we happened upon while on a photowalk in Queen Village. Definitely try the Patacon Pisao!
This place is immaculate. All of the food is fresh and care is put into each meal. Vegan friendly, gluten free, and a welcoming environment. You can tell they really care about their food being consistent and would recommend this place over anywhere else in philly really
Friendly service. Very freshly made entrees and sides.authentic. Chocolate-filled churros are a can’t miss
This place was a revelation. Everything is awesome here but the cachapas are where it's at for me. A very unique blend of a sweet corn meal pancake with savory filling - I like the shredded beef. The plantains or yucca fries in the combo are both fantastic. I don't hand out 5 stars lightly; this place will make you daydream about the food.
Delicious. Clean bright and inviting space. Food made quick. I had the catira arepa. My friend had the special domino arepa. We shared tajadas de platano and the marquesa. Everything was well made. I also like that they have a wall with menus you can look at, along with pictures of some of the foods you can use as a reference when ordering. Cute find off of 4th and south (on 4th street).
There are not many Venezuelan food places in Philly. That’s a very sad thing for Philadelphia. That being said this place is very authentic and is as good as any Venezuelan restaurant in Miami or anywhere else in the country. Run and don’t walk to this place if you are craving some great Venezuelan food.
Great food. The arepa con carne mechada was amazing. Note, it already comes with tajadas y caraotas. The cachapa is amazing as well. Tequeños really good. Reina pepiada great as well, note, the arepa gets cold really fast with this filling. Place is really clean and the staff is very friendly. Come visit!
A really wide-ranging menu and delicious food to boot. I wish they had alcohol, but this was a good opportunity to drink sweet lemonade instead!
The food was okay. This is the first time I wasn't in love with a Venezuelan restaurant I went to. The service was good. The food looked good. But the taste just wasn't there. It's not that it was bad, but just not good. I got cachapas and tequeños. I ate less than half the cachapa. Typically if I get one I'm still wanting more. Luckily we were traveling and have a better Venezuelan place closer to home.
Though I've only been here once, I am confident recommending this to anyone. The arepas are great and as good as I've had anywhere. I'm looking forward to returning soon to try them all. The cachapas were also excellent as were the yuca fries with guasacasa.
Great place! The arepas are incredibly delicious! The staff are sweet and accommodating. Highly recommended.
Really tasty sandwiches and drinks, with nice casual ambience and friendly service. Try the cilantro lemonade.
Not only is this place cool and hip, but the food it’s delicious! Authentic Venezuelan food with great service! A must try while visiting Philly. Can’t wait to go again (pics: Arepas and tequeños)
Had the vegetarian arepa with a chicha shake and loved them both! Nice interior with friendly owners.
The Arepas are so good! I got the shredded beef one and it was the best thing I've had all month. The sweet plantains are perfectly cooked. Make sure you get the cilantro lemonade as well.
Authentic Venezuelan food, very tasty, and quickly prepared. Nice ambiance. Will definitely go back!
We ordered the cachapas, tequeños and a beef burger.
And I have to agree with another review on the cachapas as the flavour wasn’t there and we couldn’t finish them.
In a more positive note, tequeños and service were average and the beef burger was a great fusion of Venezuelan flavours and a typical beef burger.
I’m a Venezuelan visiting Philadelphia from the UK (my current home)
I can’t review the arepas though so try and you may have a better experience.
I never thought I'd find an arepa as good as my mom's.these might be better. The jamon y queso cachapa was tasty and enough for 2 people. All the food was authentic, literally the best Venezuelan food I've ever had. Go to this place.
Best Venezuelan food in Philly! Service, ambience and food are top of the line. Make sure to order Tequeño’s with your arepa. Treat yourself
Great food and atmosphere. I want to try more arepas but the pabellion is so good I always get that.
