Pyramid Healthcare Altoona Detox and Inpatient Treatment Center at Duncansville

My 2nd time seeking help from Pyramid. Beautiful surrounding area, especially being from out of town. They made me feel right at home and got me back on my feet after relapse without judgment. Very thankful for both of stays at Pyramid! One day at a time!

The staff here is AMAZING! They work so hard to provide quality care to clients and always go above and beyond.

They don't lock you out of your room, they have Xbox on every floor.smart counselors.but one case manager on north village never called my p.o to let him now that I'm in treatment. Half of the staff are miserable.is allowed. It's half of a nice place

One of the worst rehab facilities ever very hard to get in contact if you have anybody inside or get in contact with anybody even with matters that are very urgent only one number and no one ever returns your phone calls one of the worst places ever.
And I'm not interested in the generic response that sent back to all the reviews about thank you for the feedback or this or that

The actual staff are amazing, many are familiar with what a person is going through. It's not Malibu, but it will point you in the best direction if you try.

I was there 1 year 2 months and 14 days ago. I have been clean since. Don't listen to the negativity. Life is what you make it. I was addicted to Klonopin. I had a great counselor and staff. They even got me into the right services afterwards. Great place. Take their advice and use it

The place was like a jail. My own counselor lied to my face and said I was court mandated there. I did it for myself and probation. I'd never recommend this rehab to anyone

This was by far the worst detox facility id ever been too. They cut me from just about all my meds except one within the first day and the toilet in my detox room would not flush. Facility seemed to be very understaffed and I even had a nurse tell me she was planning on quitting because they lacked a lot of necessary medical supplies and could not provide the level of care she was used to providing. The food is absolutely awful and the kitchen was always freezing. They kept my Drivers License, Social Security, Birth Certificate, and Debit card when I ama’d to another rehab, and it took them about 20 days to finally mail it even though you sign a contract stating your supplies will be mailed in 10 days upon AMA. Mold in the showers as well. Please do not send yourself or loved ones here. Try Huntington creek instead. Absolutely amazing facility and staff there. Pyramid Dumcansville needs to be shut down.

This place is so bad they need to shut it down asap.im working with lawyers right now to do so.you go in there asking for help and they treat you like your in jail.my brother went there on his own for help and they are not giving him his meds that he came in with.this is real sad that no body is doing anything to put this place down.the ppl working there are just there for a pay check, they do'nt care about hekping anyone.its a shame.there're day is coming. SHUT DOWN ASAP!

This Place Sux FRFR. They Allll Crooked they stole so many of my belongings. It's just like jail, only u can smoke. The BEST things the ONLY 2 THINGS THEY HAVE GOING FOR THEM. IS SHAE THE COUNSELOR AND HIS WIFE WHO IS A NURSE. EVERYONE ELSE IN THE PLACE, BUMP THEM. SHAE AND HIS WIFE SHOULD OPEN UP THEY OWN REHAB. THEY THE ONLY 2 THAT CARE AND GET THINGS DONE. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. WE PRAY TO GOD ALL DAY AND NIGHT, BUT DONT MENTION HIS NAME, THEY SWARMED THE PLACE ABOUT 6 OF THEM TO SHUT ME DOWN. THEY STEAL, THEY CROOKED AND THEY GOSSIP. ITS A CIRCUS. OH THEY HAVE ONE MORE GOOD ONE. HIS NAME IS STEPHEN. HE A SWEETHEART. HE WORKS ON THE UNITS. THEY REST OF THEM. THEY MESSY. MEDS GO MISSING THEY BE GIVING THE WRONG PPL THE WRONG MEDS, THEY "LOSE" PPLS MEDS. BEWARE. ONE MORE NICE MAN, MIKE HE RUNS THE GROUPS SONETIMES AND ANOTHER BLACK DUDE, I CANT REMEMBER HIS NAME BUT HES AWESOME TOO. PRAYING FOR PPL EVERYWHERE.

Was the worst experience I've ever had. Staff favored people.couldn't develope a friendship with anyone cuz staff would say u were to close and put u on a ban.then they only worried about keeping u separated instead of ur mental health

The worst experience of my life, I checked myself in for alcohol dependence and ended up in a nightmare, some of the staff do care, and I met a lot of cool people who were suffering with me, but the facility is an absolute joke. 3 ppl per room. 6 per bathroom, and you hung out in a hallway and drink coffee until they took you in a group like a kindergarten class out to smoke. And the food is just better than county jail. If I could give it negative stars it would be a five

Absolutely disgusting. I stayed here for only five days and had to transfer.

Disgusting institution food. Staff really didn’t care and showed exactly that. It’s a place for inmates to stay/get out of jail. I’m fairly certain that I stepped on a roach and was ignored when I said so.

And I can only assume that having a face tattoo is mandatory based on the vast majority of clientele.

This place needs shut down.

This facility deserves negative stars if it were possible. My time spent there was nothing short of a harrowing ordeal. From the moment I entered, it felt like stepping into a grim prison rather than a place of healing. The admission process was dehumanizing, resembling the cold protocols of a correctional facility. Despite its somewhat presentable exterior, the interior was a distressing sight, reminiscent of a neglected and dilapidated nursing home. The staff, to put it mildly, were shockingly unprofessional, showing a complete lack of empathy and genuine care. It was abundantly clear that their main concern was financial gain, as they prioritized insurance payments over our well-being. Complaints about the staff's behavior and the appalling living conditions fell on deaf ears, met with dismissive attitudes and a blatant disregard for our suffering. Instead of addressing the issues, they callously attempted to shuffle me off to a mental hospital, as if it were a convenient solution to sweep their failures under the rug. I implore anyone seeking help to avoid this despicable treatment facility at all costs.

If I could give negative stars I would. My brother is an addict and did not want to attend the program suggested to him by his attorney. He called this place and they promised him he could detox in 5 days. They could not medicate him properly and they allowed him to seize many times. It is suspected he had a stroke. The workers dropped him off at the hospital in Altoona where he was treated for a few weeks. He now sits in jail and they cannot find a facility for him because he incapable of caring for himself. He cannot speak, he cannot walk, he does not know his family members.so horrible. He walked into that place, he was completely functioning. Shame on them for making false promises and for allowing this to happen. And on a side note, his phone and wallet could not be located either after we went back to get his belongings. Pathetic.

Sent a client here with all after care grants in place after a different pyramid program dropped them back out on the streets to be homeless AGAIN. Then this facility didn't take proper care measures and ended the client back in prison on a PV for the facility not contacting them. WE had informed them but this facility was more than happy to transfer her to a prison to detox off of MAT and start the procedure all over again in 6 months. Any case worker should know what they are even dealing with in a clients chart and past intakes. As her emergency contact we were never informed of this issue until prison phone calls were received. Don't worry, I am not giving up but these facilities need to do better.

I left Pyramid yesterday successfully, I was a resident on East 1.
Don't listen to all the negative reviews I had a wonderful experience at Pyramid theTechs were wonderful and my Counselor Ms. Rachel was awesome she believed in me.
The food was ok.
They offered volleyball, yoga and the gym I participated in all. My fellow peers were great.

This place saved my life and honestly it's what you put into it is what you will get out of it

I was happy with the staff that I encountered while I was there, but other than that it was completely disgusting. I don't think I've ever seen more cigarettes laying on the ground in my entire life. I've heard horror stories from other people that. I do not recommend at all.

I mean it works if u work it for me it was like a dream come true at the end of the road for real the staff are awesome and respectful and for the people from my experience they really do care
