Literally no one here to check me in I've been standing in this hot warehouse with no air conditioning for an hour and I'm now after my appointment time, no one is picking up any of the phones

UPDATE: I had to get the attention of a worker who was lazily grabbing food out of the freezer while on the clock after almost 2 hours, despite the amount of my time they wasted I was still mocked and even yelled at for rushing, very very unprofessional

Nice people but if you show up early and (IF) they unload u They will let you know that you're early. I recover a load and did not know when my Apppointment was they unload me Thank you QUAD

Don’t show up early for your appointment they will make you wait until your appointment time They have overnight parking and they will unload you very fast Oh yeah but heads up everybody is very rude and can’t stand their job that’s all they do is complain about their job when you come up here to get unloaded Garbage Place

Quick and easy in and out.
Shipping and receiving department very professional and helpful. Parking overnight on gravel and out of the way of the Jockeys.
Everyone is very concerned about safety and will request from every visitor to wear a reflective vest and boots. Very nice place to go in to pick up or deliver. I will come back as many times as possible.

My experience with Quad was short but certainly not sweet. At first, I was dazzled by the offer of a competitive wage and a promotion before I even started. Once I got some time in working on the production floor, it quickly became clear that Quad wasn't right for me.

There are two shifts: 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am. The handbook says employees are entitled to two 20-minute breaks and a 30-minute break, all paid. What they don't tell you that these breaks are taken within feet of the ~100db equipment and consist of eating, usually on your feet, with dirty hands. Printing presses are running 24/7 and the only "breaks" occur when a malfunction in the machinery can be contrived so that the workers can grab a sandwich out of their lunchboxes. If the company claims to the contrary, just look at how small the cafeteria is. The cafeteria has seating for about 18 people, but there are over 100 on each shift. Only an elite few are allowed to take their breaks in the designated break area, away from the loud printing presses.

I wanted to work day-shift, but was scheduled for night-shift. I was prepared to adjust my schedule to work nights, but then I found out I was expected to train for the night-shift job during the daytime. Once training was complete, I was only to be given one day off in which to adjust my sleep schedule to a graveyard shift. I think I would have gone insane.

Whatever the rating of the earplugs they issue for ear protection, they are not sufficient. After only two 8-hour training shifts on the floor, I was already suffering from tinnitus in one ear. I can't imagine how severe the hearing loss must be for the long-time employees. I have ascertained that many have no choice but to accept these conditions because Quad is one of the few companies that hires people with criminal records. Although there is initial drug testing, there is no random drug testing for tenured employees.

The trainer, who was supposed to stay with us throughout the training process, spent a grand total of about an hour with our group and quickly lost his patience with us, either because we weren't fast enough to complete the required tasks, or because some of us didn't understand English well enough. Afterward, we were dumped on a press team and left to stand around, watching what they do without actually learning anything or participating. Subsequently, I was dumped on a very nice worker, but his English was difficult to understand, and I spent 80% of the time idling, my legs getting sore from all of the standing (and for no good reason, since I wasn't given anything to do.) It wasn't his fault that the training was less than stellar since the person who was supposed to be doing our training basically abandoned our group.

As for the others hired at the same time, one of them did not even have a social security card (but was misled into believing he could get the job without one), and another was promised a night-shift position, but he made it clear he couldn't train during the day. Every single person who did the orientation with me (including me) has already left the job after only 3 days.

I need a job as much as anyone, I suppose, but coming home smelling of lead dust (why should there be ANY lead dust in the air in an OSHA-regulated plant?), losing my hearing, and working a shift that could destroy my marriage is a non-starter for me.

Employees are miserable and very rude as well don't bother showing up early for delivery appointment as the staff will sit on the dock even though there is no other work until your exact appointment time and in many cases they won't start loading or unloading until well after your appointment time has passed
