Renaissance Philadelphia Downtown Hotel reviews
19I was greeted & checked in by staycey & I might be spelling her name wrong. She was very nice & pleasant I enjoy my stay & also received the room I requested. Thank you
I recently stayed at the Renaissance Downtown Philadelphia and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! Despite my initial apprehensions, the hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly and courteous staff who made me feel right at home. The lobby was spacious, modern and elegantly decorated, giving off an upscale vibe that I really appreciated.
My room was spacious, well-appointed and had all the amenities I needed to ensure a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable, the linens were fresh and clean, and the bathroom was spotless. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail that was evident in every aspect of the room's design, from the high-quality furnishings to the stylish decor.
While the Avocado toast left something to be desired, the hotel more than made up for it with its excellent service and attention to detail. The staff went out of their way to ensure that I had everything I needed during my stay. Whether I needed a recommendation for a good restaurant, directions to a nearby attraction, or simply a friendly chat, the staff were always available and eager to help.
The location of the hotel is also a major plus. It's conveniently located in the heart of downtown Philadelphia, which makes it easy to explore the city's many attractions. Whether you're interested in history, art, culture, or simply want to indulge in some retail therapy, you'll find plenty to keep you entertained in the surrounding area.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Renaissance Downtown Philadelphia to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable and convenient place to stay in the heart of the city. While the Avocado toast may not have been the best, the hotel's excellent service, attention to detail and friendly staff more than make up for it. Whether you're visiting for business or pleasure, this hotel is definitely worth considering. So, if you're planning a trip to Philadelphia, be sure to check out the Renaissance Downtown - you won't be disappointed!
This place is horrible, we went to eat with a family of 5 and the bill was divided into three. On my card they charged three times the amount and they still haven’t sent me back a refund like they said they would’ve 2 WEEKS AGO! This is unbelievable never come here!
Can’t say enough about this hotel, extraordinary service and cleanliness! Cody holds it all together and makes it an experience to wish for!
Had a bit of an issue with a wild wedding party staying on our floor. LA handled it so well and was kind and calming. She moved AND upgraded us to another room that was actually had the view I originally wanted. Great job on handling this situation. Five star employee
This is a nice building, but the rooms are very average and the service at the bar is mediocre.
My biggest complaint is their breakfast. The service is slow.like 45 minutes for 2 poached eggs slow. And they are very unresponsive. Had to ask multiple times for coffee refill and hot sauce. It wasn't busy enough for them to be in the weeds. Not sure what the issue was.
The hotel itself is fine and the location is great.
Very nice environment did not like the food as much the room didnt have nothing for me to warm my food up in but the bar tender was very nice the shrimp was awesome the burger was trash the valet was ghetto they stand outside smoking laughing and talking all night the room was nice
I stayed here with colleagues. None of us got the rooms we ordered. No room service & was hung up on twice when I called. For the price, it’s not worth the money. Take your money elsewhere, I definitely am.
Beware. If you get hurt at this location, they do not care at all. We needed emergency medical care and the hotel blew us off completely. Totally unacceptable. Not only did we not even receive any help during our crisis, we were left to pay out of our own pockets for all medical expenses. We later asked for help but was completely ignored by management. Even when we decided not to sue because of their negligence we didn't even get acknowledgement. Beware of this hotel and their management.
We were greeted by a centipede making its way across the ceiling above the bed. The ice machines do not work. Eventually, the bartender gave me some ice after I wandered the halls and finally made my way to the front desk. The lobby has spray-paint graffiti on the walls which makes you wonder about security. All was not bad, however. Mattress was firm. Hotel location is awesome (as Independence Hall is in the next block). Generally clean, if dated. Quiet. Staff was helpful when I had to ask for coffee pods and water bottles.
The hotel was way to dark the ice machines do not work the food was bland my air conditioner did not work the beds were really hard I would not recommend will never give this place my money again. To top it all off the hotel is filled with graffiti which makes it look like not a safe place and there is no hotel security
Great location but that’s about the only thing going for this hotel. Service is either rude or non-existent. When you do manage to locate someone who works at the hotel (reception is not even staffed during prime hours), they are almost snarly and seem completely unhappy to be bothered. Everything in the room is broken and the room is sparse. We requested housekeeping 3 times—they never showed. Avoid this hotel if you would actual like service.
Nasty stained chaise sofa in room. Probably the nastiest Marriott Hotel we’ve been in. Disappointing for a Marriott hotel.
As a diehard Marriott traveler the hotel was convenient and the staff were prosthesis friendliest I’ve encountered. But the place was very dark, hard to do a Teams call in my room, and everything was showing it’s wear in my room. Exception was the mattress—was awesome!
Cody at the front desk went above and beyond to answer our questions and make us feel welcome. We have come to the renaissance a few times the past and it is always a wonderful experience every time. There is no place better to stay in Philly.
The Renaissance Philadelphia has to be one of the best hotels in town! Eric and Joe at the front desk couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.
Only downsides were, TV was slow to respond if it ever did and the AC would not go below 68. Shower volume was a little weak but pressure was decent.
I’ve been here before and it was great, I’m actually a titanium member with Marriot. I also just recently had a family member join Marriot and I received a discount because of it. The front desk manager RAMON turned me and my fiancé out the door saying that our paper work wasn’t right at 12 am in the morning! He said there is zero way he could override anything even though nothing needed to be override because I had proper paper work that I used before! Very disappointed in Ramona lack of customer service, morals, and empathy. This location needs to do better!
