Residence Inn by Marriott Philadelphia Center City reviews
21I checked into the hotel last night and when I went into the bathroom I felt something crawl on me. Then I saw two cockroaches crawling on me I was there for literally 3 minutes and It was disturbing to have roaches crawling on me and in the room. It was a inconvenience because I had to find another hotel to stay at for my stay.
Can’t beat this location, it’s within walking distance to nearly everything you want to see in downtown. Nice staff and plenty of rooms.
I don't usually review but my husband & I stay at the Residence Inn quite a few times & eally enjoy it there. We have to go there a lot & it's very comfortable. The front desk, we love Walter (he is the best), always is extremely helpful & pleasant to be around. The views & rooms are nice. I keep accidentally missing the breakfast, but I hear it is a decent spread & delicious! Can't really ask for more & given the rate, nor bad at all! The only thing that I could even remotely complain about is when we leave something behind in the room, it doesn't get returned. So that kind of sucks, especially for someone as forgetful as i am to lose things. But everything else is really nice! & maybe someti
Great location. Our room was across from City Hall. We were in town to see the Holiday Festival which also was setup across from the hotel. Can't get any better in Center City Philadelphia.
Couldn't see as I navigated the huge roundabout that this is a gem of a converted Art Deco bank equidistant from the museum district and historic quarter. Don't rush past the vintage architectural sunbursts/clean panelling lines in the lobby and stylized exterior details.
Stayed on points and this was very likely the best value for point expenditure I've experienced. Marriott obviously recently renovated the upstairs, and my immediate thought upon entering my room was "killer upgrade", but they're all done well. Breakfast selection is standard, well arranged and all staff - check in, food, service - very friendly and hospitable.
Don't miss the easy walk down Franklin blvd to the Museum of Art and back, a stop through the Cathedral of Peter & Paul and ensure you make time for the Reading Terminal Market. Even better, arrive hungry, but don't bite off on your first choice - they just keep going.
Great hotel in a great location.
HIGHLY SATISFIED with our one night stay here. We chose the hotel for location, safety, cleanliness and price. Our room faced City Hall and overlooked the holiday festivities at Dilworth Park. The staff was pleasant, the valet was a pleasure, the elevators were quick, the room was spacious and clean, decorated with William Penn imagery, appropriately. The thermostat was responsive and worked perfectly. The bathroom was spacious and had everything we needed. The tv worked perfectly, and we had a fridge, microwave and coffeemaker with supplies, water glasses, also a nice closet with hangars, iron, ironing board, luggage stand. A lovely desk, great lamps with a lot of adjustable and spot lighting, and blackout curtains that did their job. Excellent stay. Only 30 seconds walk to Macys, 4 minutes to Reading Terminal.
Great place, clean, nice and warm. I’m particularly impressed with an older lady working in the breakfast room. Saying hello to everyone while working and trying to stay on top of things. I’m sure she doesn’t do it all by herself. Very impressed with the whole place.
Staff was extremely accommodating. We got early check in and were offered breakfast even though our check in time was only late afternoon. Location is excellent. No noise even thought you are at the heart of the city. Great views of city hall, one block from the subway that takes you to and from the airport.
Highly recommend it.
Only good thing was the location, the front desk service or lack there if was atrocious. I have never been treated so terribly and the rooms were sooooo not worth it. They were small, so was the lobby, nothing about that hotel was worth it.
Stayed here for an overnight prior to surgery. The staff was friendly and accommodating but the rooms were a bit rough. Dishes were not washed, not dish soap was provided. The rooms were worn and tired despite being updated.
Front desk is super nice and helpful (evening shift on Thurs - sorry, didn't get names) and Walter. Kitchen (breakfast) gets A+ as well, friendly and helpful. Convenient location, clean but our room is a little smaller than typical Residence - I think because we are part of a 'block' (Philly marathon).
Absolutely wonderful place. Stayed here for a weekend in the city. Rooms were clean, people at the desk were friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast was amazing. After we checked out they even held our bags until midnight (had attended a concert late that evening). Prime location too! Great view of city hall.
Absolutely no parking, you need to spend 54 a night for valet plus tips. It takes forever to recieve your car and if you forget something in your car you mine as well not bother requesting it. The rooms are terribly small and extremely expensive. One tiny vent for air conditioning with no windows that open. The room was hit and I had to go waste another 75 dollars on a fan that would cool the room enough so We could breathe. Front desk are extremely friendly and the only decent part of the stay was them and a couple days of the breakfast were good. But same food daily. 2 people can not walk in the smal space they call a room. Sheets were dirty and bed is small. Nothing at all was good about this hotel. I asked for a refund for the last 2 days of my stay and was denied. They are terrible we will never stay again.
Room was pretty clean. No free parking anywhere so it's either valet for $56 or $34 for the lot behind the hotel. Upgraded me for free because I unexpectedly had my daughter. The sofa bed was not made up. They bring you a bed in a bag and you have to do it yourself. Grab and go breakfast consisted of a bar, muffin and a fruit. No servicing of the rooms due to Covid. Homeless people everywhere around the hotel but very conveniently located across from City Hall.
Perfect for a little solo trip to the city. Saw a show at the Kimmel Center and then explored the city a bit and it was the perfect location, right in the center of the city. Restaurants and bars close by, and everything else you would need. Amazing view from the 19th floor too!
Awesome location and hotel! Stayed for the Made in America festival and was really nice being in walking distance to everything downtown. Andrew and the rest of the staff at the front desk were incredibly kind and helpful. Great room with super comfy bed and plenty of space. Only thing I would say complaint wise is the shower with a half glass door. Seems like this is more common in hotels these days and certainly not the first this trip but if Marriot is reading, go back to full shower doors please! Will be back here when we return!
Was a nice hotel in a good location. My room was clean and up to date. My one complaint about this hotel is it was oddly hard to find. I arrived in center city after dark and there was no lighted sign to indicate where the hotel was. I was going to use their parking but since I couldn't find it, I parked in another garage and got an Uber to the hotel. I am very familiar with Penn square and Philadelphia so this was a bit frustrating. Other than that the property itself was nice. I would certainly stay there again.
Clean facility but aged building detracted from interior. Staff was friendly and polite.no complaints. Guest were from a variety of places able to relax in lobby.
A lovely place to stay.friendly faculty n they offer great services.the best part is, you can't get to a room on the elevator unless u have a key card
Big hotel. The lobby is huge, but no one was that helpful. I was kind of lost and needed some guidance, but was met with an awkward gaze and a few uncomfortable stares. But if your a fan of Lobbys this is the place for you. Its a circle too so that's a bonus.
