Restano Heating, Cooling & Plumbing reviews
17 In today’s world, can you think of anyone who would leave people without heat, communication, and money only because they hold the keys to energy infrastructure? Well.whoever you may have thought of, this company would do it to you too. Read on.
My furnace started malfunctioning and I could smell a car-exhaust-like odor in the house. Called Restano, and they were able to dispatch a technician right away, within a 4-hr window on Monday. The technician diagnosed a blocked secondary heat exchanger that needed to be replaced, all covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. The warehouse confirmed that all the parts were in stock, - just needed to be delivered to Restano’s office locally, which they said could take a couple of days and the office would call me once the parts order was placed, so we could schedule the service. Great! I approved the plan and agreed to pay a hefty $950 labor charge for the work.
That’s where the pleasant part of Restano experience ends. Why? Because they knew they got me. The office never called back, so I called them end of day Tuesday. Olivia on the phone was not able to confirm if the parts order was placed and/or give me any status update. She said she’d call me back, but – you guessed it – never did. I waited for another day and called the office again, only to speak with Olivia and get the same answer. No information on the status, parts delivery (or even if they were ordered), scheduling, etc. Instead, she promised to call me back and… never did.
So, I started calling around. Spoke with several contractors and picked one of Restano’s competitors locally. Compare and contrast: 1) They were able to place the parts order immediately, 2) called me back within 15 minutes to communicate the estimated parts delivery date (Friday), 3) scheduled the service for Monday, and 4) offered a better price.
This was end of day Wednesday. By Thursday, the heat exchanger blockage had gotten so bad that the furnace has stopped working (tripping the rollout switch). Here I was. Freezing temperatures outside, two kids in the house, no heat, and still no word from Restano.
With little hope, I called the competitor again to explain the situation (no heat) and see if there’s any chance the service could be expedited. They: 1) sent someone to go and physically pick up the parts for me from the distributor (Thursday evening), and 2) reworked their schedule to have a technician out to me Friday morning. (Fast forward, - in less than 48 hours from my first call, including ~5hrs of work, they had my furnace back up and running) :)
Restano woke up on Thursday. They actually CALLED me (ta-da!) to schedule the service for Monday. At this point they were irrelevant. The office manager, Dawn, apologized and tried to remedy the situation by offering a discount and speeding things up. Mr. Restano called to explain it’s a busy season right now. If they choose so, they might leave an apologetic (or un-) comment here. Bottom line, for those considering Restano, ask yourselves if the apologies would make your home any warmer when there’s no heat. Ultimately, there are those who leave people without heat, communication, and money, and those who don’t. The difference is customer CARE.
Called for service on 1/29 about a backed up sewage drain. Gave Mackenzie my name, number and address and was told someone would get back to me "soon" to address the situation. It's now 2/2 and I still haven't heard from them.
I am seriously in awe of how amazing my experience was with Restano! Today, I noticed my AC wasn't operating appropriately. I called Restano and Jim was here within an hour! He was insanely professional, polite and educated myself and my husband on preventative measures of our AC unit! Although it was a call on Sunday afternoon, it was insanely affordable for the quality and care Jim displayed. Restano now has a forever customer with us, due to Jim's exceptional service! Thank you so much!
Dug and ran a storm drain pipe across my rocky yard. Well done and good job to Frank and team.
We wanted to use a local company when we had our plumbing emergency. Restano appeared at the top of the list with a decent rating and "24 hour" assistance. My husband called a little after 6am and was told a technician would contact him. My husband waited but after not hearing back called around to other businesses. Good thing he did. He didn't receive a call back until over 5 hours later when the job was already completed and the call was not from a technician, but another office person. Although someone fielded his call, no one acted as if this was an emergency we were having at our home, or cared to at least keep up communication.
5.11.22 In response to the owner, it would behoove you to address this issue with your answering service and not me seeing as ultimately you lost out on business as a result of their incompetence it seems. Did it ever occur to you that they may be lying? No one would spend the time reviewing or responding to reviews if the call didn't actually happen. This just goes to show that your customer service is lacking to even suggest that your potential customer was lying about an emergency call they made. Future customers beware if this is how I am being treated for identifying an issue in Restano's quality control.
Their truck was in the left turn lane but then drove straight in front of me and cut me off. Took place next to the Squirrel Hill Carnegie library at 8am today.
I had a leak in the main valve of my house, plus the handle on the old valve was in bad shape and difficult to use. Chris from Restano came out and got the water shut off in the yard, and the valve fixed quickly and at a reasonable price. The entire setup (valve and handle) is updated now and is so much better. I have used Restano a few times now, and they've always been helpful and reasonable.
Chris was amazing. He was professional and friendly. He was able to efficently fix the problem we were having in our bathroom. I would recommend Chris to anyone with any plumbing issues
From the time I called to their ability to seek and find a solution was exceptional. Chris as well as Andy
are true professionals in their field. They were super friendly, while able to explain the issue and what they needed to solve the issue.
Although the Restano staff could have easily threw in the towel upon their visit by completing an outside repair that would cost up to $15 to $20 thousand, they were determined to find a solution for which they did.
I’m so thankful to the Restano staff and their exceptional team, Chris and Andy. I will continue to tell my story and experiences with their service and will always use their services.

They were very professional and performed the work in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend.
The Restano team lead by Chris was absolutely fantastic! They were incredibly knowledgeable, professional, helpful, and talented. They were able to solve a problem that puzzled 3 other plumbers and did so in record time. They also did a great job of communicating with us to make sure we understood the details of our project and the progress. Chris went out of his way to educate us on additional recommendations to maintain our system moving forward. I am thrilled with the service. They will be our go to for all HVAC and plumbing needs moving forward.
Middle of the night emergency. Prompt, professional service. I highly recommend this company.
My wife has a real bad hip and is going to get surgery and we needed higher toilets than the standard ones we had. The Tec named Joshua came out and gave us a price. Today he installed both toilets and the price was exactly as previously stated. Joshua was one of the nicest plumbers we have ever had. He not only did a great job but he explained the process. He was so kind and considerate and triple checked the toilets so there were no leaks. When he addressed us it was always maam and sir and was very respectful. In conclusion I'd like to say he was outstanding. Restano Heating, Cooling & Plumbing have a great employee in Joshua. Thanks so much. Michael & Laureen Shearer
I called Restano to connect two pipes CPVC to copper. Guy came and gave me an "estimate" of $500. The sales guy spent 45 min negotiating price with me - real plumber could finish the work in less than 30 min. He called his "manager" a couple of times to lower the cost to $279.99, and when I refused, he told me that he needs to collect $69 + tax for diagnostic (connect two lines?). This was not communicated when I called first time.
Restano is a very good Company. I was having problems with my Sewer and they came right out. I would recommend them to anyone.
Very quick response. Specially important to fix the heating in a snow day. Thanks Matt the technician!
Very expensive overpaid for service maybe because i am foreign? I called office and some rude rough lady answered and told me tough i was in shock.
