Trail ride was a great experience for a beginning rider. Nice setting, well maintained horses, and pleasant, experienced riders to guide you. Looking forward to my next ride!

My wife, daughter, and I (husband) had a fantastic experience at the Royal Rock Equestrian Center yesterday! We were all first time riders and Emma did a great job acclimating us to our horses, fitting us with proper helmets, teaching us the basics in their stable barn, and making sure we were ready to take our trail ride! Emma was a super guide, making sure we stayed a safe distance apart and always asking if we were okay! As we road through the scenic trail, our horses performed to our commands beautifully! I rode Glory - a beautiful horse and appreciated her patience with me! Emma always made sure we were okay and gave us guidance on how to react to the hills and down slopes! At the end of our great experience, Emma took photos of us on our horses - a great memory made! We cannot thank Royal Rock Equestrian Center, Emma, and Carrie for their great service and giving us a chance to be together as a family and a great experience! We recommend Royal Rock Equestrian Center 1000 percent! Emma felt my daughter was a natural and Carrie placed us on a waiting list for lessons. Thank you again for a great experience Emma, Carrie, and Royal Rock Equestrian Center! If you ever want to experience horse back riding, please contact them! Outstanding!

We had a very nice trail ride. Owner worked on scheduling us when the weather would be nice. Horses were friendly and easy to ride. Great time!

Had a great time with my family on a trail ride. The horses were well behaved and the ride was scenic with the fall foliage. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere

I am incredibly disappointed about the experience me and my family just had at Royal Rock. Emma was the lead guide and was rude and unfriendly to both my girls riding behind her. I was given a uncontrollable horse to ride. While I understand and am admittedly a beginner rider, I followed all instruction provided by Alexis. The horse was extremely stubborn, poorly trained for trail rides and uncontrollable. I did not feel safe. I chose to dismount my horse and walk.
My horse and the back guides horse, Duchess and pickles respectively, did not get along and both were too much to handle for Alexis (rear guide) alone. I was asked to walk with pickles. I walked up and down, through the rocky path with pickles over rough terrain; I rolled my ankle and was stepped one twice by pickles.
No one from the stables came to help Emma or Alexis. There were several other adults and horses, as well as a side-by-side off-road vehicle, that could have come out to help from the stables to the trail path.
For 5 summers, our family has taken multiple trail rides in the mountains of PA. I’ve ridden many stubborn horses before, and still completed the ride on the horse. I had to correct the horse from the second we started the trail. It was apparent that I really needed to pay attention to the instructions given my the leaders and focus on keeping on the path. I don’t think duchess should be used on future rides.
Upon arriving back to the stables, no one asked if I was ok, apologized or even acknowledged what happened.
I did expect at least an offer of a refund or reduced price for my trail ride per person fee. ($50 per person for the extended trail ride-70 min ride) but like I said, nothing was said when everyone in my group and their horses arrived back to the stable. It was a full 10 min before I arrived on foot, and still the owners nor trainers mentioned nothing to my family.
I waited calmly until my kids took pictures and turned in their helmets.
A woman, who I assumed was the owner and I, met after taking a few steps towards each other. She put her hand out and I placed the remaining $180 owed for the trip. I couldn’t muster a word because I was a little furious.
I would have asked for a refund for my ride only and ask that my fee been given directly to Alexis who starts college soon! She was amazingly calm during the whole situation, confident and a true leader. I appreciate how detailed she was with her instructions on how to handle my horse.

I really hope this does not happen to another family.

Even after all said and done, “I can’t wait to get back on the horse again! ”

Royal rock is an amazing place. It is located in a gorgeous setting and is a perfect place to get away from the craziness of life. Carrie is a top notch horse woman with years of experience. She is a trainer that can work with anyone to achieve their goals. The care of the horses is top notch. Highly recommend.

My friend and I went this past Sunday morning and we had a wonderful experience with our guided trail ride. Both guides were RNs and were such a pleasure to talk with and they told us alot about the farm and the area!

Great experience. Went for a trail ride and the staff and horses were all very welcoming. The trail was peaceful and scenic, and I felt like I had a 'real' horse riding experience despite having no prior lessons or training. Would (and have already) reccomend.

What a fantastic ride! The stables and property are amazing, the people were so nice, and our guide? Well.we cannot say enough about her! She was so kind, informative and accomodating! She even helped us get a beautiful family pic with the most incredible scenery! When we arrived back at the stables she allowed my 8 yr old daughter tobhelp her put the horses away and feed them carrots. Cannot wait to come back for another ride soon! Thank you Royal Rock for a great day!

Carrie is an all around WONDERFUL person. Her care for animals is unconditional. This is BY FAR the best stable i have EVER been to. Your literally crazy if you dont go here atleast once in your life. Trails ride, indoor ring, outdoor ring. And too all the girls that have stood by her are just as great. Carrie is such a postive person and she is such an inspriation I wish i could give this rating a billion stars because she deserves it in every way.

My family and I went for a trail ride while camping at Ricketts Glen and it truly couldn’t have been a better experience. We went with experience riders and first time riders and they accommodated everyone. My daughter dropped her reins as we started riding ‍️ and they were so kind and helpful in instructing her on what to do. Thank you Carrie for making this part of our week long trip my daughters favorite. We are looking forward to going back.

My sister has been taking lessons at a different place for about 10 weeks now. Compared to her first lesson at Royal Rock, she learned nothing in her other lessons. Here, she learned more in one lesson than she’s ever learned in her 2 months of riding back at home. Carrie is a FANTASTIC teacher! The horses are friendly and the stables are clean and orderly!

My daughter started with a simple lesson in December 2017. Within a few weeks she fell in love with the horses, the sport and the family we are now part of. She began competing in a few months and has joined several equestrian organizations that may earn her scholarships! #royalrockordie
