Ruth's Chris Steak House, Pittsburgh PA

Had a wonderful meal and service from Kennedy (waitress) and Jimmy (Host). The 12 oz Ribeye was cooked to perfection and the best Ribeye I’ve ever had. They did a great job of recognizing our 2 special events (Birthday and Pitt Graduating Senior). A+

You know what you're getting at Ruth's and they didn't disappoint. Service was impeccable and properly attentive without being intrusive. My meal came undercooked but was adjusted in a flash with apologies and the sides were refreshed and hot. Always pleased to dine here.

This was our 1st time dining here and the food was incredible! There wasn't one item that didn't taste delicious.

I had the crab cakes and my husband had the bone-in ribeye. The crab cakes had large pieces of crab meat and were full of flavor. The steak was the best we've ever eaten. The steak was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouth and was also full of flavor.

We shared the BBQ shrimp as an appetizer and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The sauce was absolutely amazing and our waiter suggested dipping bread in the left over sauce - sooo good! We also shared the creamed spinach, garlic mashed potatoes, and the sweet potato bake. All three sides were delicious.

It was my husband's birthday, so he was presented with the cheesecake and seasonal berries. It was creamy and delicious.

The meal was worth every penny and we will definitely be returning for another special dinner.

A high end steakhouse. Going in, you should expect to spend $50-100 per person. My fiance and I went for dinner on a Friday evening. The reservation process was easy and completed online about a week prior. Our waiter Matt was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms as our appetizer and they were delicious. I had the Cesar salad and ribeye and my fiance had the salmon. The sides are family style shareable so we split the mashed potatoes. She ordered a signature cocktail with blueberry vodka and I had the old fashioned. The old fashioned was good, nothing special. Her drink was bitter and she didn't care for it so we replaced it with a rum and coke. The bartender has a heavy hand and while this may be some people's preference, she didn't enjoy it. The only seasoning they use for the entrees are salt and pepper which left her salmon dry. I ordered my steak rare, which arrived on the signature 500 degree plate. An interesting idea, but the steak was more medium rare in some spots and medium in others. For dessert we took Matt's recommendation and both had the creme brulee which was delicious. All in all it was a wonderful experience with average food and drink. The service is second to none, but the food doesn't seem to match the price tag. I'll go again, but with lower expectations.

The service was good and the atmosphere was great but the food I was surprised by. The side dishes were okay and we're the best part of the meal. The ribeye I ordered was surprisingly tough and lacked any real flavor. The steak at Texas Road House is better and a third of the price. I should say that the other people I was with really enjoyed what they ordered. If you're looking for atmosphere, Ruth's Chris is great, for food, maybe look elsewhere.

Amazing, I went with my boyfriend for his birthday and the service was great. Everything came out so quickly. We had the stuffed mushrooms and sweet potato casserole, both were to die for. We really didn't need desert because of the casserole, but the waiter was nice enough to bring out a complementary birthday cheesecake for my boyfriend. He really enjoyed everything and I thank the staff for making his birthday so memorable.

Good steakhouse, spacey and excellent steak.

The red wine by the glass was actually very good CAlifornia wine.

Good impression and quick service

To me, Eddy V’s is still the reference restaurant in Pittsburgh downtown.

Service was 5 stars, the atmosphere is business or romantic. My daughter and I ordered the dinner special which included an 8 oz.filet, salad, side and dessert. The steaks came out sizzling on a bed of melted butter, and they were seasoned and cooked to perfection. The sides were enough for 2 people and very good. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because the butter that came out with the bread tasted like it had freezer burn and the lettuce in the salads had brown spots.

For over 30 years, this Ruth's location has been serving up high quality food and service. Having recently undergone a physical transformation, the restaurant now has a more upbeat feel, with a large bar at the entrance serving as a great central meeting point. Convenient parking in the attached garages at PPG Place. Family owned since its conception, you feel a sense of a neighborhood spot with upscale offerings.

I agree with the previous commenter who celebrated his wives birthday. I was there in November for my birthday with my fiancé and I didn’t get any celebration either from R. C. Seeing that when you make a reservation they ask “ are you celebrating anything? ” My fiancé really thought this place would be better. Also parking is horrible

I was there for a dinner presentation, singled out as well as overlooked by both servers in my section for silverware and salad……… It was very unprofessional of them due to the fact that I had to request for silverware (Even when I was the one who requested for the silverware for three other people as well as myself).

I wish I could give you 0 stars Pittsburgh. Service terrible I even have a video of a manger saying okay like it is what it is, brought me the wrong drink, waited forever for anything I needed plus never came to check on me.even long horn says sorry lol maybe I was out place but last 3 times I came here terrible, the manger even lied and said his name was Rick risso the ex mayor of Philly dear Ruth Chris do better your a 5 star restaurant Eddie v would never TikTok video coming soon.

Was very good. Service was excellent.however, I feel the manager Patrick dropped the ball. My mother's filet was absolutely horrible. Even he said "ripped apart like pot roast". A new excellent steak was provided. But nothing comped? No apps or dessert? Patrick apologized for her having to "eat alone", we finished before her new steak arrived. Maybe it's me? But if it's your fault.buy the dang thing. Do the right thing. Mama Ruth is spinning in her grave!

Had dinner last night at Ruth’s Chris for a birthday dinner for my mother-in-law. She enjoyed her birthday. Reservations for 7 were accommodated. The hostess was very pleasant and welcoming. Checked in our coats. Food was tasty. Waitress was attentive. My husband enjoyed the stuffed lobster tail. We had an array of Items which included the porterhouse for 2, lobster mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and more.

We brought in a cake and the waitress cleared the table following dinner and brought out candles and sliced the cake for each guest and then boxed up the leftovers.

Following our $700+ group dinner, we asked the waitress to separate the checks and she informed us that she was NOT able to do so because it was a party of 5 or more but, she could however put different amounts on different credit cards at our request. We thought that was a little strange but it was fine. (Don’t worry lady - we would have generously tipped you either way)

There is a liquor sales tax - for our items - the price was $27.75.

Our reservation was seated on-time, even though the place was jam packed on a Saturday night. Our waitress was extremely attentive, orders came out fast and correct. My filet was cooked perfectly and the shrimp were fantastic.

The atmosphere was great (haven't been for years and since been expanded and renovated). The food was good but my filet was slightly overdone, but with such a great piece of meat, the flavor was still there.

Nice and decent place for family or couples dine out. Food was delicious and arriving hot on your table. Note: Be careful not to burn yourself with their plates. Plates are oven heated to 560 degrees Fahrenheit to keep your food hot while you eat.

This was my first time having Ruth Chris and I was very disappointed. Myself and 8of my friends went for a birthday dinner and were ignored most of the time we were there. Our waitress would constantly check on her other tables but neglected to do that for ours. It got to the point where I had to physically get up and walk around the restaurant looking for someone that could refill my drink. When I had a question about the menu I was spoken to like I was stupid. I’m not sure if our service was bad simply because the waitress knew she was automatically getting a tip due to our party size or what. The food didn’t make the experience any better. The “crab cake” was more like a hush puppy and for a $900 tab I was very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this location.

Took my parents out tonight and it was all of our first times being here. It was very good. Mom had the filet with lobster tail, dad had the filet with shrimp and I had the filet with lobster tail and crab cake. For the table we had mashed potatoes and lobster mac and cheese. Everything was great. The service and staff were on it. Great job. Very happy with everything.

First time having R. C. - not really all that. The seasoning was light on the steak, and it wasn’t as soft as I expected. Our waitress was kind, sure- but most of the time we were looking for her. And when we found her with our eyes, she was standing facing a different direction, talking to other employees. Wish she was more attentive.
We were celebrating my wives birthday and…… nothing. No wish of happy birthday, no singing, no tiny little cake to say “Happy Birthday”, etc.you would think that they don’t ge the notes from Google when reservations are being made.
