Sachs Covered Bridge reviews
17Amazing experience. Had some growling on a recorder, very eerie feeling at night. Gettysburg is an amazing place to be.
We went on a "ghost hunt" here late at night. We wanted to see Sachs Bridge during the day, it so did not disappoint! Absolutely beautiful and very well preserved. A must see in Gettysburg!
My friend frequently takes me there for ghost hunting. Aside from that, it's a really beautiful bridge with nice aesthetics.
Obviously an important part of America's history preserved beautifully. We were there for Paranormal Research and it did not let us down.
The bridge is open to foot traffic only now but still worth the stop to visit. We are from Texas where there are no old covered bridges so while we were visiting the northeast we tried to stop at as many as we could. Going to find this one did not disappoint! There is parking nearby so you can get out and walk across the bridge as well as around it.
We love Sachs bridge- up until last week we always went early morning or afternoon and enjoyed the environment with fish, turtles, and all manner of water gems. Never overly busy with tourists. However, we thought we would go the other night to try some fishing when it was cooler. If you don’t like crowds and you go for the magesty of nature, don’t go after dark, it is apparently quite the tourist destination for ghost hunting. If you are going for the aquatic community and stream life, don’t go after 5!
Beautiful place during the fall season. The bridge has alot of history and is a good example of how well built things used ta be.
Sachs covered bridge is beautiful by day and creepy by night! Make sure to bring a cigarette for the ghost!
Very popular destination for Ghost hunters. As both union and confederates used bridge. Was used by confederates after retreating as field hospital.
This is a beautiful place and a lot of history, and it is known to be haunted, we got several EVP's there and took lots of pictures HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GO THERE.
So creepy definitely haunted. A must see/do while in Gettysburg. Plus you can go here at night. Look up the ghost named Tennessee and see how he can smoke a cigarette. Trust me a must see place while you are there
This was pretty cool to see. Turns out there are four covered bridges near Gettysburg. This is Sachs Bridge. There is a plaque that explains the history of the bridge. It was built before the battle at Gettysburg so its cool to imagine the soldiers walking across the bridge 160 years ago. Worth the short drive from the battlefield.
Around 170 years old, and still in fanatic shape to this day!
The Most Historic Covered Bridge in Pennsylvania!
I have visited this bridge many. MANY.times. It is beautiful! It is very, VERY historic! It is very haunted! Yes, it has been moved from its original place, but they are still very much attached to the structure! Take lots of pictures at all timea of day or night and carefully inspect them all later. I promise you. You will NOT be disappointed!
Always a nice visit to the old Bridge. We tend to go at night for El spookies but don't really focus on that. Try to catch the bridge during sunrise or sunset. On a clear day it's a lovely view.
Keep in mind it's an open location, so eventually there will be other visitors and as you'll see from the graffiti, they aren't all as respectful to the old structure as they should be.
Went to this bridge one morning and walked along the creek and skipped rocks and went again that evening. Nice area
We heard the bridge was haunted, just wanted to go check it out. It's actually a beautiful area and quite relaxing. No weird vibes for us, even though some folks were doing a paranormal investigation. We sat and watched their work, but really just enjoyed a nice peaceful riverside in the country. A nice place to visit for Ghosts and humans
